On the issue of torture being "effective"; former Navy Inspector General Alberto Mora made it clear that the US government's use of torture has been quite effective at "recruiting insurgent fighters".

As I reflect upon American crimes against humanity today, in places like Gitmo & Abu Ghraib prison, it is no surprise that America is forever destined to carry the sign of Cain for the Hiroshima & Nagasaki bombings!
The longest America has gone without bombing someone is 2 years; America simply used the Nuremberg show-trials to hide itself in a haze of moral superlatives!
