I was totally absorbed by this riveting, heart-wrenching poem. You offer a perspective that is largely hidden from the public eye. Alongside you, I pray for truth.
Very powerful Celeste! Sad and beautiful and traumatically all too true! And there is still a stigma on unmarried mothers and their children. When will society respect mothers of all ages and financial backgrounds who are the mothers of our future generations?
The most powerful statement was regarding "the babies were never a gift!". I was at the unwed mother's home with the video young Mom... it was hell, it was insane.. it was torture. When my child was RIPPED from my arms-- I can not tell you the void and pain.
Powerful prayer and The Mothers Project is much appreciated. Thank you for reaching out to all those who where drawn in by adoption. FirstMothersReunited(M)
Oh, thank you, so much, M ... I want the whole world to see, to hear, to know the truth about the millions of girl/mothers who lost their babies to adoption. Best, Celeste
You are better than me, I do not and will not pray for the agencies, lawyers and those family members who thought it best to take us babies away from OUR mothers and who still act like they're God and keep us apart. When they go to Heaven let them explain to God the deceit and lies told to 1st moms, aparents and the babies who even as adults are at they're mercy. So no I do not pray for them.
Thank you Celeste. You have put into words and images what each of us feels. I'm 42, and learned I was adopted just days before my 42nd birthday. Projects such as yours are helping us to adjust. Thank you.
As a mother who lost her baby to adoption in 1964, having to sign my daughter away while drugged up after delivery, this video touches every nerve of my soul. Thank you for the prayers for us mothers and all our babies who lost their true identities/beginnings. If only I could go back to that day and start over ... have my baby safely in my arms, never to let her go ... but that is a dream long lost. I pray Julie knows I've always loved her!
So touching! I pray for healing for all of us. I am a natural mother and it still hurts after 33 years. Pray that young girls today do not fall for the lie that adoption is wonderful.
This is both very beautiful and very sad. I read your sadness between the lines. I pray for the healing of your own pain and feelings of rejection and just "not fitting in" through the years. I pray for your inner child that needs held, loved and nurtured. Only God can do that now. He loves you so! Believe that! And know that in and through your pain the Lord is using your experience for the good to bring others to a healing place. I hope that someday you realize you ARE a GIFT!
Celeste you ARE a gift.... not in the sense of the loss we have experienced, but in your ability to help others understand this aspect of adoption. Your heart enriches me, thank you, Lori
Heartbreaking. Thank you so much for The Mothers Project. I wish my own mother could have seen this beautiful video - she was one, and suffered from the moment I was born to the moment she died. I pray, too, that not another soul has to live this loss - neither mother nor child.

Celeste, as an adoptee, I hope that one day you resolve your pain so you can grow up and begin to see the world through the eyes of others...true compassion. Also, you have every right to feel bitter, but using prayer to convey your message seems a bit dishonest...even manipulative. It's particularly disturbing when you attempt to dehumanize the people involved in the adoption process. Everyone deserves their share of responsibility...including the mothers.
Thank you Celeste for your poignant, sad testament to the truth...the truth of what happened to millions of 'babies' and the mothers who brought them into the world. The truth can not be changed, but your words do in some special way had just a little more toward healing.
Thank You Celeste for your most compassionate and understanding "Prayer for Truth". It is my sincerest hope that many adopted people and natural mothers that were lost to each other throught the act of surrender, will view your video and take the needed time to digest your Prayer.
Celeste - thank you so much for this and The Mother's Project!
You always nail it!

Celeste,
I have to say I would NEVER pray for those people who were involved in separating mothers and babies.
I pray that those who are separated find each other.
Thank you for the the beautiful work showing those faces of loss. Thats who if I prayed I would pray for those who have lived the loss.
