Ha! That reminds me of something I heard Kenny Schrader said when he was speaking at a trade show. Someone asked him how he got started in racing. He said "My mom drove a stake in the back yard and tied my go-cart to it. I'd ride circles around that stake all day when I was a kid."
That looks like a plywood floorpan. That solves the incredible heat problem. Mine actually has a hole over the muffler & that gets quite hot. Some day I will have that floor replaced.
Do you have a body that will eventually go on the vehicle or are you just having fun the way it is?
Suggestion: make a video walk-around of the chasis showing details of construction.
