Haile Selassie was killed by Muslim fundamentalists, and his body was stuffed in one of the palace bathrooms where his body laid for almost 20 years, until his daughter had him properly buried in 1992. This is how you have multiple funerals. The first state funeral was without his body, the second funeral was a family burial.
