What a strange video! But I LOVE Steve Hackett, and I agree with sunboyfun, I like the smirk! And I actually dig this tune -- one of Steve's great little pop tunes.
Me too, never knew this existed. I wonder if it was ever shown anywhere on TV at the time! Loved this song-it was brave of Steve to throw in a disco bass-line. all-in-all, this a really cool pop song. Video's a bit naff though.
From 'The Gran Parade of Lifeless Packaging', 'The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway', 'Carpet Crawlers', 'The Cinema Show', 'The Battle Of Epping Forest', 'The Musical Box', etc... to this.
I really like this song, not to fussed on the "disco" bass line though. Like the vocal melodies and movement on the synth. It does reflect the time though, that early 80's thing.
I'm a big fan of his and have seen Steve live a nimber of times but this is ONE LAME ASS song if I ever heard one. Perfect for the tripe that came out of the 80's.
WOW! Thanks for posting this! I never knew it existed! That has always been my favorite track from Defector and to see that there was a vid made for it is very cool!
I think this was used as the theme tune for one man and his dog an old BBC programme but I'm not 100 per cent on that,I certainly recall hearing it on tv,I know the BBC used Spectral Mornings to advertise films many years ago
Ive seen him do this live - more years back than I care to remember - can anyone tell mewhat was it used as in the capacity of a theme tune. It was a TV theme but for what I cannot remember. Anyone?
this was awesome, no wonder he was in genesis XD!!!! haha <3<3

Isn't that keyboard riff from a Genesis song in the 80's? Sounds REALLY familiar...just not placing it.

"Defector" is one of my favorite Steve Hackett's album.

@voloaltissimo vero, però vedi l'ironia che ha voluto mettere nel pezzo.. anche il video lo dimostra, molto scherzoso ;-)

Love the '70s funky bass line in this as well as the synthesizer riff and vocals. As far as I'm concerned, Steve can do no wrong.

The video is kind of lame... too same-y. It needed a couple more visual elements added in. But of course this WAS 1980.

This is the worst music video I've seen in a long time.

Nice song and video, even with the pop influence all prog composers and bands had in the early 80's, still, it's Master Hackett playing there !

'disagree; i personally appreciate "pop sensibilities." if i want art rock devoid of that, i'll listen to mid period Jethro Tull.
