  • You know why I liked this review? You were just telling the facts and your opinions without being boring or trying too hard to be clever or funny. One of the few reviews I didn't skip through while muttering profanity about stupid people. Thumbs up!

  • I have a question. Where would you get a mini-to-micro SD adapter and is this any good for playing music?

  • I see you got a think geek tripod aswell :D

  • Question! ThinkGeek said you plug it into a mac. You look like you have a PC. It works with PC right? Also how is the battery life?

  • Where do you get your roms with the .nes file type? My collection was in .zip form, and does not work on this device.

  • @ChampsMcgee extract it

  • hey how do i transfer the roms to the thing?

  • if you have save slates saved on a computer, can you transfer those slates to the device?

  • @Shooooooooooooooooop *states. And no.

  • Can you add game consoles such as the N64 using the SD card. If so how would you do this?

  • @TheFrankandGeorge no nintendo64. ):

  • @TheFrankandGeorge nope, just what's already there.

  • we know what games look like when they play well. why don't you show games that have problems so we can see exactly how bad they are?

slow, boring review with very little useful information. too many people now with the "hobby" of making their own youtube videos and reviewing products without giving any information beyond what (most) people are able to READ

  • gorilla pod in background 1:36

  • Every one listen you have to get the roms from online the emulator is already inside just download the roms

  • It's been a very long time since ive had a handheld & id really love to get a new one sometime soon but i love knowing as much as possible about the product b4 i buy it... I noticed the Dingo is like a psp cos it holds music & such... how do i use it?

Anybody else live in NY State, cos if so maybe i could call you & talk about it cos i believe its been about 3 or 4yrs since ive had a new gameboy or any handheld :) Maybe somebody is selling theirs :D id love to buy :D

  • @Streexhero

If you want a handheld, I would go with a Nintendo DS or 3DS. If nintendo's not your thing, get a PSP. The Dingoo is for playing old games, like games that came out in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. The Dingoo is NOTHING like the PSP. The dingoo emulates (a fancy word for plays as well as, or, sometimes, worse than) NES, SNES, GameBoy, GameBoy Color, GameBoy Advance and lots of other consoles/handhelds. The PSP, while it can emulate with hacks, is meant for playing Sony PSP games by Sony.

  • Could somebody help me out, im thinking of either getting a Gameboy Micro or This Dingo Pocket as a new handheld game i can use while i travle but im not too sure on witch 2 get... ik the Micro you have 2 buy a bunch of games for, but for the dingo how do you play the games... dose it already come with all the games on it or do you have to buy/download em onto it somehow??

Would love it if somebody could respond ^ ^ Thanks :)

  • @Streexhero For the GBM, like you said, you'd have to buy the games.

For the dingoo, however, you must download the games online (for free)

  • I'm sorry pal. I have just downloaded your DirUtils, installed it but ... do not have an idea HOW 2 use it?!

    Could u help please?

    Thanx!

  • that is sweet, all this fucking years of being a MAME fan and i just found out of this portable emulator. its like having an orgasm im getting one today from ebay!

  • is there an american version ? i mean english version?

  • @segafan230

Yes, there's an english/american one at:

    thinkgeek(dot)com/electronics/bd6f/

    or

    dingoo-digital-usa(dot)com.

The ThinkGeek one does not come with nearly as many emulators as the Dingoo digital usa one, but i found that the DDUSA ones take longer to ship.

  • is there an american version ? i mean english version

  • is there an american version ?

  • can you use normal windows emulators or do thay have to be specific to that machine.

  • @thesman32 there are pre-installed emulators on it, so don't worry.

  • The abc order on the game went like this: 0 A B C ha ha why is there a zero?

  • @GameGirlReviews265 for games that start with a number

  • @GameGirlReviews265 Not sure if trolling or just very stupid...

  • @Claeys67 You said that to the wrong person. I happen to be the top in my class. I am NOT stupid. I just didn't think about it that second. :(

  • That's pretty much a Chinese Game Boy Micro LOL

  • does it bring any games in it already????

  • LOL I was thinking that was a game with planes^^

  • I'm interested in buying one of these. Is there a site or a community where you can update the software of the machine and improve its emulation?

  • @johnwx777 dingoonity org

  • what ever happened to part 2 of this?

  • All you need is a magnifying glass so you can see it..since it is so small..lol

  • Is this made of cheap material? plz reply somebody?

  • If you press the screen it makes a rainbow effect? Oh i wonder why you have to clean those fingerprints :P Jst kdng. Nice review!

  • nice tripod

  • i got mine for $84 with 3 days of shipping

  • @randomgibberishwords From where?

  • two questions! how are the 16 bit emulators now?? i understand there are updates now from the community and was wondering if the snes emu is better.. i.e. can it play chrono trigger!? also i heard it can only support a 8gb sd card. true?

  • @peterjussi I just ordered mine today, I'll either post a video or reply here and let you know when I get it.

  • The console still alive? I wanna buy a Dingoo but I don'r know if they are of good quality... so if your cnsole still alive I supose the Dingoos have good quality

  • didi it come from thinkgeek loaded w/ roms?

  • ebay sell them for 76 and 80 pounds with 8gb but what is emulator and what is this

  • @thewizard773 an emulator is a program that plays Roms. They have emulators for pretty much all systems these days.

  • I want an emulator of this system XD

But in all seriousness, this looks pretty cool, but ill stick with spending money on the real consoles and games. Sure it'll cost a ton more, but all games are so much better when you can play them as they were meant to be played. =]

  • where do you download the games from?

  • @nameless527 From the internetz! :D

  • screens are always close to the plastic -_-

  • Can you put other emulators on it, like Atari 2600 or MAME?

  • @Zambaku I dnt kno much but maybe google dingoo MAME or dingoo Atari. And u need to hack it.

  • @Zambaku yeah...

  • guys, dont buy this from thinkgeek, buy it from dingoo-digital-usa, (just google it). I got mine there and its got fast shipping and its 20 dollars cheaper than thinkgeek. Plus they carry accessories, like cases.

  • nice now you can use this as a psjailbreak wii4everybody com

  • can you load more emulators on it

  • 4coolday.com i both my dingoo bicouse its free shipping it coast 87 dolars and i get it in next day i live in latvia

  • dude is there anyway u could upload Dir Utils somewhere so i can download it ive googled all over and all links are down:/

  • is it easy enough to put the games onto this ?

  • @a280281 it has built in 4gigs of memory and most roms are 2mb to 10mb,

so ya, there is enough to put all the games you .

  • I'm Getting My Dingoo On Monday I Got The White Because My Friend Has The Black And It Has A Lot Of Finger Smugs. I Am Only Gonna Use It For Snes, GBA, Nes, And Megadrive.

  • buy a psp and custom firmware it. much better than this shit

  • @jesuzizinmybedroom So if I buy a psp 2000 brand new i'll be able to mod it even if it has the most updated firmware??

  • @hypermetalsonic yes though you would need a pandora battery (modified battery can buy online cheap) which would allow you to install custom firmware. this custom firmware disallows access to the playstation store but allows emulators for snes, ps1, n64, genesis/megadrive and so on and also allows to download and play psp games for free through a warezforum or torrents. there are many tutorials on youtube search custom firmware psp

  • @jesuzizinmybedroom awesome! thanks :)

So I wont have to worry about how new the psp2000 is? doesnt matter with pandora battery

and no way it can accidentally update once I'm using the pandora battery? No ps store means i cant go online? Or what?

I've read that 3000 and pspgo can only play emu's, so cant hack free psp games

  • @hypermetalsonic some versions of the psp 2000 series are more difficult to work with so I would get a psp1000 if possible, cheaper and easier to work with.

with the psp you have to manually update it so no it will not erase your custom firmware.

    no online full stop.

if you want to hack do not buy a 3000 or go! it wont work.

    hope that helped :)

  • @jesuzizinmybedroom thats what i thought man but i orderd one of these today because of its small factor..u cant excatly carry a psp around in ur pocket unless ur wearing nigger cloths

  • can you change the color of the menu screen?

  • @mistyfur514 Yes, it's just in the settings...It's in System Setup... Theme Choose... and from there you have four choices :)

  • I hope they can play commodore and spectrum emulators! if not then soon!

  • nice review getting one of these hopefully tommorow :D

  • That burn mark you say is not a burn mark, it's just polarization. ;) It's normal.. ALL my handhelds have it..

  • Don't use the wall charger! It's burnt out many systems!

  • @chaoswarmech Happen to mine!!!!What should i do...

  • All I need is the PSP. And maybe the second PSP.

  • i have it! its really cool.

  • Where do you get your roms and emulators from?

  • @MuSiQMaTRiX, GOOOOOGLE

  • @Zhylo Didnt work. Sorry. I figured it out. Kthnx

  • how to change language

  • do you still have to download games on it to play??

  • looks REALLY chinese...the fonts are all the same fonts with chinese products, when they translate it...and they copied the psp interface

  • What all emulators does it support? Does it support emulators for newer systems?

  • @HowToGetFreebies It plays Atari 800, Atari 7800, Atari Lynx, Colecovision, CPS1 (CAPCOM Arcade Game Systems 1st Edition), CPS2 (CAPCOM Arcade Game Systems 2nd Edition), GB, GBA, GBC, Magnavox Odyssey II, Neo-Geo, Neo-Geo Pocket, NES, Sega Game Gear, Sega Master System, Sega Genesis, SNES, Turbo Grafx, and WonderSwan

  • actually,i am getting it for my birthday.

  • it comes with the emulators pre-installed. the ROMs (games) need to be acquired elsewhere, like torrent sites..

  • @someguy8383

Mine didn't come with all the emulators... I think I may refund it because I can't get help on it...

  • does it play 64

  • @Quincy35191 ya i think it comes with like 200 preloaded games on it

  • Does it get fingerprint convered?

  • i wonder whats better.. dont look at the price.. but if i set emulators of nes, snes etc on PSP. will dingoo beat it in gaming or not O_o

  • @plandercozeron psp's emulators are nearly flawless, but u have to consider hacking it, there is no un bricker for the psp and it is almost 3 times as expensive now, dont get it is you just want oldies, its a waste

  • how do u put games on it plz respond

  • I am (Hopefully) getting a dingoo for christmas this year! Cant wait!

  • shit load of games.lol

does it come all stock programed in the dingoo?

  • cool review, intresting game console

  • Is this easy 2 break cuse i dont wanna waste money on somthin that wont work.

  • @MegaDJTZX It has a fantastic strong feel to it. Your best bet at breaking it is bricking it installing Dingux, which is necessary for most SNES games.

  • cabeza de pene regalamelo

  • Try to get a ThinkGeek catalog; with a code you can get 10 off.

One drawback is scrolling. If you have many ROMs in the same folder, it takes a while.

I can't get Gyruss to work.

Super Mario All-Stars seems a little messed up with the frame rate, but it's playable.

My biggest problem is trying to scroll with the D-pad. Sometimes you want to go Left or Right but you have to tap it harder.

Overall, good but not great device.

    nice video 3.5/5

  • I'm buying it from thinkgeek cause it's the only totally ligit site I can find it at

  • what website should you download "interesting games" from

  • where's part 2 and is there a headphone jack

  • Yes there is.

  • it comes wtih in the box/.

    but eh shitty kine

  • About the same price? 80 and 170, not the same price range.

  • dude, not $170 its $99.99 this is an old video so the price changed.

  • Rather get a modified psp, this and it is about the same price

  • You talk too much

  • Where is part 2 of this review? Have they got homebrew running on the PSPgo yet?

  • gameboy micro + psp?

  • Apart from the english translation, this is any gamer's dream!

  • "interesting game" lolol

  • psp are better now psp 3000 can be hacked so u get more features like running isos and csos with chickhen r2 and cfw enabler

  • This thing is great, I bring it everywhere.

Its an amazing deal for 65 euro's.

Runs everything great, I do recommend you install dingux (linux) it gives you even more options.

  • I was wondering how do you put downloaded roms on to the dingo (where)?

  • can some1 help me? my files are all the correct extension and when i put the roms on2 the system, they show up in my computer but they dont show up when i open the interesting games folder on the system. i go 2 browser and try 2 find the file and i can find it under browser but when i open it under games, it says no files found. the files r unzipped and i dont understand y the files show up in 1 place but not the place tht i need it in. i think tht my unit is defective. does any1 hav a solution?

  • the files arent supposed to be unzipped. hoped this helped

  • this is a pretty cool system. i have a question for anyone here who owns this system. should i get this system for emulation and what not. or should i just use my ipod touch? (my ipod is jailbroken and has emulators on it) it's just a pain to use with the touch screen.

    Thanks

  • wait for pandora

  • about how much would the pandora be when it comes out?

  • about 300 but the specs on it are insane dude!@

  • 600 or so dollars, a little more.

  • I have the Dingoo and I LOVE IT!

Yeah the Pandora is "faster" but it's also 3 times as much and it's release date keeps getting pushed back with backorders all filled up. The Dingoo is great with dingux linux it runs perfect even with out the Dingux..Tthe Dingoo runs 1,000's of games perfect from NES,GBA,NEO GEO,CPS1 & 2 and with Dingux SEGA & SNES runs.I say get the Dingoo and wait for the Pandora if and when it's available. Also Dingoo is very user friendly...Good luck with whatever you pick!

  • thanks for answering my question rather than saying wait for pandora...lol

  • how well does it play sega games?...i was thinkin of gettin one to play zombies ate my neighbors!

  • I haven't used an iPod Touch for emulators, but this console is brilliant as far as emulation. If you use the standard settings the console itself runs great, and I highly recommend you get one. I got one for christmas, best gift ever.

  • you have the same tripod as me lol

  • but can it play crysis?

  • Crysis isn't that amazing pal

  • @lilsicko650 No, but Assassins Creed 2 (a)

  • @lilsicko650 on iphone yes using onlive ;D

  • 1000 NES games = 200MB.

same for Genesis, SNES is about double that... so you can fit pretty much all the games you want.

  • how or where did you get all those roms because ive looked everywhere and none of the one ive downloaded worked and wouldnt show up on it...pleasse help

  • How many games can you fit on 4gb?

  • depends on what system

about 64 64mb games may fit

  • thanks for a cool review ive just bought this ,cant wait to try it, can it play the biohazard nes fan game rom?

  • Nope I tried,FF7 won't load either.

  • do u have to put the games on there or they are alredy there

  • both

  • dnt understand. both ur saying that u put the games on and they stay on right???

  • it comes pre-loaded with 3 gigs of games from all the emulators and you can add to the library

  • ooooooooooooooooooooooo i gets its now

  • im guessing this cant play starfox?

  • DO A BARREL ROLL!!! sorry

  • im ordering this right now but i NEED the black one but it smudges :( i dont want white

  • I've just convinced my wife to get me one of these for christmas, i'm all excited now and I'm 33!! lol

  • @WindRunnerVX i have the same age, have a dingoo and i'm happier than a child with it!

  • i want to no if it is woth it

    to buy one

and is it the rom that doesnt play well

or the system make some not play well

  • rom's are just games they arent the problem (if there is one) it would be the emulator that runs the rom slower

  • It is not the rom, and it is not the system. It is whatever emulator you are using. The default emulators that come on the system are ok, but compatibility is an issue sometimes. These things can be fixed over time by the community.

  • does it play playstation emulators??

  • sadly no it only uses 8bit and 16bit games so it uses nes snes sega genesis neo geo sega master system and more, sadly no less or more =(

  • When you have installed Dingux, you can also play PSX games and others.

  • rly?

  • Yea, currently its not running games at full speed, but development looks promising.

  • Gotta buy :)

  • when is the next part?

  • Awesome review! But I have a quick question for you, does it support GB and GBC games? I would guess so since it supports GBA games.

  • GBC emulator available for dingoo.

  • There is? Cool, thanks! I've been trying to get info on that for a while now.

  • I bought mine from amazon because i was scared that'll come in chinese ):.. I'll get it in a few days and see what happens-

  • Has it come in yet, mate?

If it has, tell me how you think it is!

I would love to get one so far everything I've heard is 100% positive!

    Thanks, man, I appreciate it!

P.S. if it is in Chinese fear not, I'm sure somewhere, someone has a guide on how to get in English (Google)!

  • Haven't gotten it yet ):, But i think i will within a day or two (never order from amazon if you want something fast x,x) But my most recent reviews haven't been as detailed as i want them to be- But with the dingoo im going to try and use all of the features like even the mysterious flash feature and such, Ill be sure the make the review in a few days though-

  • Default language is chinese, but you can change it to english in the MENU. :D

  • Factory default yes, but when i got mine, it was set to english.

  • When I try to play mp4-videos on my mobile I just get the sound and no visuals

Does the dingoo have the same problem?

  • to bkdavebk:

mp4 videos don't even play on my Dingoo.

I convert my videos to flv and they play beautifully with perfect a/v sync. AVI and WMV are skippy (for me at least), so I just convert everything to flv (the file size is smaller anyway) :D

  • Ja, they do man! There are just many codecs of different video formats (AKA Containers), a good example is MPG. There are SO many variations of MPG, it's often confusing choosing which one to encode in :/

Anyway the Dingoo specifically plays these video formats:

Video Containers: RMVB, RM, AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG, MP4, ASF, MOV

    Video Codecs: WMV1, WMV3, WMV7, WMV8.1, WMV9, MP42, mp4v, DIV3, DiVX5, XViD, MJPG, MPEG1, MPEG2

(I agree with you, FLV would be your best bet and has GREAT compression!)
