@ChocholateMuffin No, it can't be used with midi but you can use it with samples and (maybe) other VST instruments. Also if you want to do something like this I recommend FL Studio & the Slayer2 or RealStrat plugin.

I am having difficulties getting my Rig Kontrol 3 to work with my newly installed Guitar Rig 4 software. I get messages in the Audio Setup options that the device is either stopped or not present. What is the deal, and how can I fix this situation?
@jaapmaster Yes, I recommend getting good speakers and you can get sounds very similar to a full 100 watt amp, but perhaps not as loud (depending on your computer speakers)
when I play a patch from Rammfire fx and compare it to the sound of Rammfire on the NI website their site is way, way more clear, louder, powerful. I've heard other people complain about this, any idea how that can be? I have a great sound card (EMU 0404) so thats not the problem

@singular23 I know how to hook up my shit. I was using this product to hopefully get a good mix with it. I can't get a decent distortion sound from it. Every time I start up the rig it has the terrible screeching and whistling type of sound, tried a compressor get the sound down helps some, but it's still there, annoys the heck outta me.

@FuryoftheSound your question doesn't make any sense. A guitar amp is almost always recorded with a mic, and the mic has a very important effect on the sound, so choosing the right mic is part of getting your tone. It makes sense to add the microphone as part of the software's emulated signal path. Just set it up to always use a Shure SM57 set at center-speaker if you don't want to think about mics
@acdcisthegreatest14 no it's not for recording. In fact, they didn't even record these examples to put them on YouTube. The examples here were recorded with actual amps and speakers and real microphones into an old tube-driven console somewhere in England. The software is pretty much pointless as it doesn't really do anything. You can't even plug your guitar into it. It just plays things that were recorded by other people using real gear.....

@Moodyz3 All computer/software based recording needs an audio interface. Unless they've started coming out with computers with mic jacks and hi-z inputs and nobody told me. If you have Cubase, you should probably know that by now.

To be honest hexxle, I either watch all tutorials for guitar on here (youtube) or I know another site that I found on youtube called COMPLETEGUITARIST (dot) INFO that is really really helpful, with stacks and stacks of videos, it really did help me out.
Im still annoyed about no support for mac 10.4 n Intel only. I'll be happy using GR3 for awhile longer but if I want to change Guitar pluggins im gonna go for the ik media amplitube 3 which still supports my system and looks good for the money so far. Will be interesting to see how it compares. Im not gonna update my system again. I would rather find a company which caters for us all. I mean 10.4 a legacy os n still supports xp?? I was saying you can control guitar rig 4's effects with a midi controller. I never said anything about it being a synth. Native Instruments makes a guitar kontrol pedal specifically for guitar rig, which is midi controlled.

I hope someone at NI will see this, I want to make a public comment asking for better customer service. I love the products, but the few times I have had problems the customer service was useless and it took me 3 days of calling in till I actually got connected with someone. Please fix this!
Yea, I usually try to purchase products that I really like, but NI is doing such a poor job on customer service that I may just give up and pirate the software. Last time I bought an NI product it took 3 weeks to get it activated since their activation suite is so buggy.
And its really sad that no one from NI even replied to my comment, which has been near the top of the comments for a week. Last week I tweeted how I was upset with my wells fargo service and added a #wellsfargo tag to the tweet and not 30 minutes later a wellsfargo rep contacted me through twitter and resolved my problem. Thats good customer service. They came to me as apposed to me going to them.

I hope someone at NI will see this, I want to make a public comment asking for better customer service. I love the products, but the few times I have had problems the customer service was useless and it took me 3 days of calling in till I actually got connected with someone. Please fix this!

Yea, I usually try to purchase products that I really like, but NI is doing such a poor job on customer service that I may just give up and pirate the software. Last time I bought an NI product it took 3 weeks to get it activated since their activation suite is so buggy.

And its really sad that no one from NI even replied to my comment, which has been near the top of the comments for a week. Last week I tweeted how I was upset with my wells fargo service and added a #wellsfargo tag to the tweet and not 30 minutes later a wellsfargo rep contacted me through twitter and resolved my problem. Thats good customer service. They came to me as apposed to me going to them.

@Rafterman123 You do realize customer service doesn't just entail tech questions about the product, right? For example, it took me 3 days to get a hold of someone when they double charged me for a $300 product. So please be take some consideration of what you are saying when you are trying to be condescending.
