This guy is either lying or he is mistaken. First off,it WAS Keiths 21st(he was born in 1946),and Keith did NOT drive a car into any pool that night. He tripped and fell on the floor and chipped his tooth while trying to get away from other part attendees who were attempting to get his clothes off.
@mozy1955 It annoys me that so many people who were allegedly there keep lying. Ons guy who was supposedly their road manager said Keith dove off the diving board into a waterless pool and THAT'S how he chipped his tooth. All LIES. I'll quote The OX "Keith never even got NEAR a car that night."
@Chrisdrumz The story did hit the papers back then. Peter C was thee rock DJ at that time. I was in high school and opened up for Alice Cooper Dec. 30, 1970 at sherwood forest in davison because I knew some older rock musicians and was pretty good considering I was a kid. Pete knew everybody, and I mean everybody, He is as honest as there ever was.
@waavdaav He may not be lying, but he IS wrong in his recollection. It was indeed Keiths 21st b-day and he did not drive any car into any pool that night. Peter C admitted he had been drinking and it's quite possible that after hearing what supposedly went down so many times over the years he has constructed a false memory.
God bless Peter C! That was my first concert at age 11 and I'm proud to say I went to see The Who. What band opened? Was it the Electric Prunes? If you see this Peter, thanks for bringing all the great music into my life. Those Flint/Davidson shows helped to shape me as a musician. Rock on!
The Blues Magoos opened the show that night at Atwood, and amazed and delighted the audience with demo of the first truly electronic instrument: a THEREMIN! The Who were already half in the bag by the time they hit the stage.

The area was a rock magnet....Mt. Holly and Sherwood Forest in Flint, Holly North in Saginaw...all "teen joints" ans always packed. Dick Wagner and The Frost, Question Mark and the Mysterions, Terry Knight and The Pack (later to evolve to Grand Funk), Bobby Seger, Ted Nugent...and it goes on.
wow thats pretty cool he got to party with keith moon and the fact that this guy who witnessed it shoots down all the rumors that he dindt really drive into the pool

It says it right in the video, The Who *opened* for Herman's Hermits!
Peter C: America's best DJ.
He introduced America to AC/DC, The Who, and Michael Moore. Not a bad roster.
