Cute Shih Tzu training - Cooper plays hide and seek

Was it easy to train him? About how long did you have to train him until he got the trick right by himself?Cooper's amazing.

And...

i've got a 3 month old shih tzu. His name is Jonny. He doesn't listen to me at all. Any tips on how to train him? He's always looking at something else but me.

@Cllauuudiaa Cooper was easy to train because he is a very sweet dog and his willingness to learn and please us early on. When Cooper joined our family at 8 weeks old, I would teach him the basics such as sit and stay. The key to the training is repetition, praise, and reward with treats. Also, all dogs love a good treat, so Jonny may listen to you if you have a treat dangling in front of him. :) Try Beef Jerky treats from Milos Kitchen. Good luck!

What do you give him as a reward? I can't find any treats that are good enough for my Shih Tzu to train her. All I've found, apparently; aren;t yummy enough for her to obey me.

@iiZombiee We give Cooper "Milos Kitchen" Beef Jerky, Beef Sausage, and Chicken Meatballs treats that are made in the U.S.A. Unfortunately, Milos Kitchen Chicken Jerky is made in China.  You can find it at Petsmart or Amazon.

LOL he is soooooooo cute!!! My boyfriend has a yorkie and a shih tzu too but the shih tzu is not nearly as smart as cooper! how did you train him so well? did you take him to a class? or is there a book you'd recommend? :)

@celleoful Cooper is so smart that he trained us. :) Cooper one day decided to hide under the sofa all by himself when we were busy working. I later noticed that Cooper was "missing" and called for Cooper and found him "hiding" under the sofa. So we spent the next hour reinforcing what he knew already and simply associated the word "hide" during his training. Heehee......Cooper is extraordinarily talented I guess. :D

when mini cooper was still a puppy .. he was the 1st pup i've seen here in YT to encourage me to buy a tzu like him .. now i got 5 and my little girl Pipay is expecting to give birth on feb .. im nuts bout this breed , i've tried poodle and a yorkie but still i love shih tzus .. they're the best :D

@keithrig Thanks....Cooper was one and a half years old in this video.  We usually take Cooper to Petsmart to have his hair cut every 2-3 months.
