I don't think most people really get it. You don't buy a Lamborghini or Ferarri to be the fastest. Just like you don't buy Nikes because they're the best shoes. It's all about style, image and the brand. The Corvette simply can't match that.
Well I'm pretty sure that driver was more concerned about rocks hitting the lambo than driving fast. The good thing about Corvettes compared to other super-cars is that they're resonably priced for the performance u get...thus you can run the sh*t out of them and just repaint them when they need it. A lambo being drag raced is almost never heard of. A Corvette would be on the track way more.

It's an amazing machine, that like the 03 cobra when it came out gets tons of flack from owners of way more expensive cars bc they were getting outperformed on the street and track. Basically there's a lot more craftsmanship that goes into those italian cars not to mention all the fine real grade leather etc. Don't forget that name alone adds a ton too lol. Not my cup of tea either. But hey if you got the $ why not own one lol.

Though it is somewhat old in terms of design and technology, it still delivers power steady. The chassis, very light, but very flexi, because it is 2 dimensions. So, good or bad..?

I own a 08 C6 Z06, it handles very well, it just takes skill to drive unlike the euro cars. You have to know how to drive to but that thing moves out. I don't think it's quite on the level on the Gallardo, it's up there but still the Gallardo is better.

The Veyron was not meant to compete against modded TT Viper's and Vette's, as both could beat it. It was meant to be the easiest most reliable car to get to 200, exlusively for really really rich people, not for people like us watching youtube videos...
LS7 is rated at approx 505HP. A cam-and-header swap makes it an easy 580hp engine-600 if you want to lean on it. And that's with OE-spec durability. With any engine, you put a turbo or SC in, boost it too high and you are asking for problems. But the LS7 can handle quite a bit more power.
03 Cobra is a proven beast with boost, as are 911 turbo's many amg's and many other cars, but it is how much boost. and yes much more power n/a can be taken from that engine, it always funny when I see car companies make a car that is so moddable, they sould have just made it from the start with the good cams/headers... :)
Right. That's why I'm glad the U.S. builds cars with detuned engines to meet emissions spec and all the other horseshit knowing the buyer can mod and boost that engine without hurting it. Ford would put a SC in their mustang for me for $7500 and still keep it under warranty. If I were to do it myself for say $3500 they told me the warranty is void. What I'l probably do when I get a car is wait till the warranty has expired. Now if the economy would start turning around......

My friend has a C6 (automatic) not a ZO6 and did exhaust, chip, L92 heads,intake, and cam. Thats all and beat a Gallardo by 3 lengths. So much for European Engineering. Oh by the way his C6 was automatic to top it all off hahaha.

That is not a stock z06. I have a stock 08 z06 and have raced a gallardo and got my doors blown off, either that or the lambo is letting off a little but if you listen to the engine that doesnt sound to be the case!

You clearly don't have a 08 Z06, otherwise you wouldn't say that. I have a 08 Z06 and I can and have beat Gallardos. Gallardos arent even that fast the run like low 12s my Z06 is all stock and i've hit 11.6

Now the Italian/German/Sweedish and other euro exotics are good ALL AROUND cars. Strait line, and cornering. Your Z06 is okay, but not great. And this isnt a biased post since I am a great fan of the corvette and the z06. A c5 Z06 will probably be my next car.

that z06 will outrun a lot of cars in a straight line, but it will get smoked around a track - especially by a lambo, i love vettes but about the only thing you can do with them is race in a straight line. nice vid though

I own a 08 C6 Z06, it handles very well, it just takes skill to drive unlike the euro cars. You have to know how to drive to but that thing moves out. I don't think it's quite on the level on the Gallardo, it's up there but still the Gallardo is better.

nice the 08s have that shiny carbon fiber interior,anyway I'm going to research it but I think the z06 handles better than the gallardo but like you said you really have to know how to drive it and the gallardo must be smoother and less stressful, and if I ever get a lamb its has to have the doors, just my opinion

Yeah, the interior is a bit nicer, I'm not sure if the 07s have the leather wrapped plastic option? But I do like the fake carbon fiber haha. The Gallardo is AWD so it's def much easier to drive. People like to bash the Z06's handling but it's just you need to learn to tame the beast :)

yeah, Z06's are a very capable car. plus the lambo gallardo isnt very fast compared to the other lambos they have. its pretty much like 1/2 the power of the murcielago. if that was Z06 vs. murcielago, it would have been a different outcome as long as the lambo's driver was good. a lot of times the poeple that have lambos and such, suck at driving for some reason

plan and simple Vette is best bang for the buck right now in sports cars 60,000 and up. You all are arguing over totally different things people don't buy Lambos, Ferrari's, and porches to really race they buy them because it's a level of status and prestige. I live in Michigan and I have a low 12 sec evo 8 and every time I have seen one of those exotics they never even try to race me because usually they are all older rich pricks that are having a mid life crisis and want to feel young again.

The Veyron was not meant to compete against modded TT Viper's and Vette's, as both could beat it. It was meant to be the easiest most reliable car to get to 200, exlusively for really really rich people, not for people like us watching youtube videos...

LS7 is rated at approx 505HP. A cam-and-header swap makes it an easy 580hp engine-600 if you want to lean on it. And that's with OE-spec durability. With any engine, you put a turbo or SC in, boost it too high and you are asking for problems. But the LS7 can handle quite a bit more power.

03 Cobra is a proven beast with boost, as are 911 turbo's many amg's and many other cars, but it is how much boost. and yes much more power n/a can be taken from that engine, it always funny when I see car companies make a car that is so moddable, they sould have just made it from the start with the good cams/headers... :)

Right. That's why I'm glad the U.S. builds cars with detuned engines to meet emissions spec and all the other horseshit knowing the buyer can mod and boost that engine without hurting it. Ford would put a SC in their mustang for me for $7500 and still keep it under warranty. If I were to do it myself for say $3500 they told me the warranty is void. What I'l probably do when I get a car is wait till the warranty has expired. Now if the economy would start turning around......

My friend has a C6 (automatic) not a ZO6 and did exhaust, chip, L92 heads,intake, and cam. Thats all and beat a Gallardo by 3 lengths. So much for European Engineering. Oh by the way his C6 was automatic to top it all off hahaha.
