  • I remember Peter O'Toole telling a very funny story years ago on Letterman about being Harris' roommate.

  • It's so weird to see him before Harry Potter. I watched some of his non Harry Potter movies and he was great.

  • Harris speak,s with true heart felt passion about a great film legion. Im not really that religous but after seeing this short clip, I feel I must say God bless them both.

  • I like Richard Harris and hope to meet him someday! he was wonderful and great as the King in Gladiator! I wash I had a father like him as he was to his daughter they really loved each other you can tell but not his weird son who Commodious had to kill later!

  • richard harris is a great gentleman. perfection.

  • He was. Another great loss. We still have his great pal, Peter O'Toole - tk God.

  • Great story teller

    RIP Richard Harris

  • 1:04 That's Jack N, right? Why is he wearing sun glasses?

  • @luno44 Most shots of Jack in public he has on sun glasses.Don`t know why.Red eyes maybe.

  • He found what he wanted to do with his life and never looked back, hes a great role model.

  • Unfortunately Harris died before Douglas who should of died way before Harris.

  • @amxrtdket i dont know who voted you down, but i voted you 1 up, its true, not just because i like Harris better but the age difference... Harris was 72 and Douglas is 93.. although Harris did have a hectic lifestyle, especially with the drinking. But i like Harris a lot more, not just because hes Irish like me but because i liked his attitude, hes tough, hes got balls, he doesnt care what other people think, hes a rogue, does his own thing and ive always admired and respected that.

  • oh when men were men.

  • Well said.

  • Could not agree with the last comment more, there is not enough of Harris on Youtube I would love to see more

  • Come on youtubers lets get more Harris clips up here. someone has to have some of the brilliant Harris/Parky interviews on VHS up in the attic, get 'em converted, get 'em up here!!

  • He was such good fun.

  • i miss Harris.

  • R.I.P to this legend who died exactly 7 years ago today on the 25th of October 2002, this guy knew how to have fun and i honor you on this day sir, R.I.P i will never forget you.

Richard Saint John Harris (1 October 1930 25 October 2002) you are missed.

  • Really? has it been 7 yearsalready? Richard Harris, one of the very very best actors. btw, thanks Mr. Douglas!

  • @Brady2k10 Very, very well said. I miss Richard Harris mightily - an awesome character, a spell-binding actor. A real legend.

  • @Brady2k10 i still watch cromwell today and sometimes with my kids. brilliant actor.

  • @Brady2k10 May I post here with your yr old comment? Thanks Brady, because all I wanted to say was the same as you did. Richard Harris you are indeed missed. Even your little oral tribute to Kirk Douglas was filled with class. I'm going to view it again and surely again. " A law was made a distant moon ago here"

  • what a voice. he should have dont audiobooks. or wouldntve he have made an incredible storyteller?

  • If RH led a complicated life, and had many facets to his personality--some good, some not--the one facet I always admired was the mind and heart that so truly understood Arthur in "Camelot". He "got it" and knew what the role of Arthur meant to him, literature, musical theatre, and world history. So many thanks to RH and Kirk Douglas for facilitating that.

  • It seems as though you've "got it" as well.

Other than God; I believe that Kirk Douglas was also instrumental in creating the only 'King Arthur" that

this world would ever desire to truly, remember.

This heart....is forever grateful for the memory.

    .

  • A complicated life, or a boring one dull one? i know what i want, he was a beast of a man, he was actually a "man" something we dont see nowadays, all we see now is little girly men spiking their hair up and plucking their eyebrows.. RH had balls and he was tough, he said here Kirk Douglas was his idol, well Richard Harris is mine. Good comment.

  • Amazing comment on your part. I couldn't agree more.

  • Notorious drinker, and character (as a person).

  • wow richard harris idolized kirk douglas as a kid, yet kirk douglas is still alive and richard harris is not.

  • let me just put it like this, Richard Harris is what girls like to call a "bad boy" drinkin, tough, womanizer and a great actor and a person. He lived a good life, 72 aint that bad... i think anyone who lives past 75 is lucky, since im from Ireland too im a big fan of Harris, although im from Dublin and he was from Limerick i just wish i could have known this guy.

  • Richard Harris made a difference.
