@ivydragonbreath She is looking better & better as the weight continues to slowly drop. She's 1.5 lbs slimmer, perhaps more. That aweful commercial food aged her very quickly in a short period of time. Junk food does the same for humans too - high stress food that shows on our faces & bodies. I will increase her brewer's yeast to get the colour back in her facial fur.
@jzathey i totally agree for me Toby never looked old and never acted old and i see dogs younger than he was looking too old for their time. Great that the diet is working, i've been giving up things myself and have lost about 4 stone (not sure what that is in pounds) but i feel so great and happy. How are you doing with your own diet?
My sheltie was also afraid of storms. But I had the idea of making him think he was more powerful than the storm by saying "Go get 'em!" and "Sic 'em!" It worked. Maybe you can try that with your dog. Only thing was, every time he heard thunder after that, he growled and barked at it like a crazy lunatic, lol. It became a game for him.
your sheltie is GORGEOUS...we've had two, one passed away when i was 19 (beautiful handsome boy sheltie named Clancy)...our current sheltie, Skippy, HATES thunder storms and shakes like crazy during them...we think he may have been through Katrina b/c we got him from a guy down in Florida and he's old enough to have been through Katrina in August of 2005
Poor baby. Had a dog (half chow, half wolf), who would literally glue himself to my side when a storm popped up. Know how Bumbie feels, being a bit leary, myself. Give her a pat from the 'Spinner.
how young she looks in this video!

Shelties have such sad, smart faces. Mine's a blue merle ... but that look ... it's just so precious.

Poor puppy! I'd hold her, too. My collie definitely knew the word "cookie", too. LOL

Taking a dog's mind off the storm is a good form of therapy!
