I was hoping the video would have english subtitles. My mother was a german girl expelled from Czechoslovakia in August 1945 and I am writing her story for a research paper for college and watching the video validates everything she told me but being able to understand it would have been great.
The video sadly does not show the 300,000 Sudeten Germans massacred in 1945 and 1946 by Czech partisans and police criminals in ethnic cleansing measures. It is sad view to see the exodus of a 1,000 year old Bohemian German, Moravian German and Silesian Austrian-German population by the criminal Benes regime of Czechoslovakia. May this injustice be atoned for!
@IustitiaPax It was a just retribution for what Germans did to Czechs during WW2. Also your lies are overwhelming, the German casualties were between 15 and 30 thousand,
@EnLugal Retribution for the 1941 Czech baby-boom? Retribution for increase in Czech population? The Czechs suffered least of all European peoples in fact. Despite Lidice propaganda of the BBC and later Communist and Liberal Benes revision attempts. The Sudeten German casualties were 253,251 and the Carpathian German casualties were 35,450 death victims of the CSR terror of Dr. Benes. The total nr. nearly equals 300k German victims. This is a historical fact. Mass graves everywhere! (Dobronín!)
@IustitiaPax I quote: "The joint Czech-German commission of historians stated in 1996 following numbers: the deaths caused by violence and abnormal living conditions amount approximately to 10,000 persons killed; another 5000 - 6000 persons died of unspecified reasons related to expulsion; making the total amount of victims of the expulsion 15,000 - 16,000 (this excludes suicides, which make another approximately 3400 cases)."
The German bestiality is incomparable to this just retaliation.
@EnLugal 'Commission' was based on 'political correctness', but historical falsification. It was a political attempt to do away with the demands for apologies by the Sudeten German Survivors inside the Federal Republic of Germany and Austria. 253,000 Sudeten Germans were missing INSIDE their lands, without registration for military service e.g. at the Soviet Front or something. But German genocide and expulsion victims are denied and insulted, and Czech victimology exaggerated. Falsification!
@EnLugal Read Prof. Dr. Alfred de Zayas and his book 'A Terrible Revenge', and he proves the number I mentioned carefully. I am not a German. I am a Dutchman. I am not from the Sudetenland. I have no personal interests, but historical justice.
@IustitiaPax I don't care if you're German or some Dutch fan of Mussert. Your numbers are not correct. Your Prof. has evidently a propensity to make facts up as he likes.
@EnLugal Prof. Dr. Alfred de Zayas is UNO High Commissioner, international law professor and humanitarian activist, and is a Cuban American. He is neither a "Mussert fan", nor a fan of Fidel Castro or Edvard Benes and his ally Joseph Stalin. And there are numerous more historians who all refute the Genocide Denial propaganda of the 'Czech-German Commission" propagating "10,000 victims maybe" denial propaganda.
@IustitiaPax This man is not an expert on the subject. He's just an American peace activist with some very extreme opinions. His conclusions are completely wrong and biased, whereas the joint Czech-GERMAN comission was impartial.
@EnLugal The "Czech-German Commission" was "impartial"? Good joke. This Commission was organized in order to smoothly organize Czech Republic's admission and entry into the EU. And for this reason, the Brussels bureaucrats and German collective guilt-ridden psychological patients posing as "German politicians" enforced "revised" ridiculous lethal Sudeten German victim number of "20,000 most", less than 10 % of the true established number. Prof. Alfred de Zayas is not "extreme", he's a SCIENTIST
@IustitiaPax You chauvinist piece of shit. The number of Czechoslovak citizens who died was about 365 000, which is much less than for example in Poland, where the German terror was horrific. The increased birthrate during the Protektorat was simply reaction for the pervasive fear at that time. Zayas is extreme, biased and his works are not scientific at all.
@EnLugal Czechoslovaks who died in the USSR Army, Czechoslovak Communists killed during the Communist Slovak National Uprising of 1944, and hundreds of thousand ethnic Czech Teschen Silesia inhabitants who died in the Wehrmacht. The Czech death toll was not due to the Nazi Reich at all, except for some hundred men who were executed in the Lidice and Lezaky reprisals. The increased birthrate normally is explained by wealth and material confidence in future, not by 'fear'! We had a birth crisis!
@IustitiaPax Die, you pig! Are you going to deny the holocaust too? No ethnic Czechs went to Wehrmacht at all, they weren't allowed to. Also go to hell, now I see that you're just stupid troll.
@EnLugal All Czechs of Teschen Silesia were drafted into the Wehrmacht, some chose for the Waffen-SS. And the cousins (Dvoracek) from Czech territories of Dr. Henlein were accepted. And in late 1944 the Rota Sv. Vacláva was formed as a Czech Volkssturm against the Bolsheviks. Moravians (Czechs) served in Reichsarbeitsdienst voluntarily. You know nothing. You resort to insults and threats. I am civilized. I wish you all the best and God bless. End of discussion.
@AssolutaPrimadonna Nonsense. Stop anti-Czech comments. Then you are no better than the Czech chauvinist and Czech Communist criminals sympathizing with the Benes-Genocide and anti-German, anti-Hungarian ethnic cleansing from 1945-1948. Czechs were allowed to fight. All Czechs of Tesin Silesia fought in the Wehrmacht. All men above 17.
@MvDrak In the 1940s there was no anti-birth pill, contraception and NO interrupce ve Protektoratem. The high birth rate and babyboom of 1942 Protektorat is very clear and a historical fact. You speak about 2009. In Europe it was a sign of increased confidence. In Holland it only occurred from 1946-1952, not during the occupation by the Nazi powers. In Czech lands, comfort and luxury started in 1939 alongside with financial support per living childbirth.
@P1B1U1H1 Yes, of course all who merely document the ethnic cleansing and crimes against Germans are 'Nazi apologists'. How simplistic. Not unexpected for a Jewish American, who cannot think in other terms. Alfred de Zayas is a professor of international law and a United Nations high commissioner. He is a Cuban American, not a German. It is utterly ridiculous. As are your other claims. You think you can hold back historical objective truth on the internet. Good luck. You loose.
@IustitiaPax de Zayas is an American. Here is what H. net said about his contribution to a set of essays: The contributions on ethnic Germans are mixed in quality. On the one hand, the chapter by de Zayas makes wild accusations and excoriates the Allies and particularly Czech President Eduard Benes, while those by Scott Brunstetter, Janos Angi and Nicolae Harsanyi are superficial.
He is a good lawyer, but that does not excuse what he did in this realm.
@IustitiaPax Have done some more reading. Apparently, his work is used by Deniers all the time, although he himself is not one. Tell you what. Just downloaded his book "A Terrible Revenge". Let's see what it says.
@IustitiaPax Here's a sentence for you: The Germans of the East were the ones who suffered most for the politics of Hitler ,and doubly so. Before they were expelled from their eastern German homelands,
a significant number of their leaders fell victim to Hitler. The German resistance to Hitler was essentially driven and directed by the Prussian nobility and the Prussian corps of officers.
_________
He says that Adolf Hitler was the bad guy with respect to these people.
@IustitiaPax I had the fellow wrong, as you assert, because the distortion of what he said. Here's more: These eastern Germans tried to save their country. But did they succeed in the end? At least their sacrifice stands out as proof that not all Germans were in agreement with Hitler's criminal policies, which brought so much chaos and suffering onto the world, and so much disgrace onto the Germans themselves.
____________
The responsibility is laid squarely at the feet of ADOLF HITLER.
@IustitiaPax Adore this paragraph: Even in Germany certain circles rejected Hitler's machinations in the Sudeten question. Responsible officers did not want an European war & actually decided to arrest Hitler in order to put an end to his irresponsible & deadly game. General Ludwig Beck together with Generals Franz Halder, Hans Oster & Erwin von Wimeben drafted plans for a coup d'etat. But the "appeasement politics" of British Prime Minister Chamberlain frustrated these plans.
@IustitiaPax For some time Joseph Stalin had been negotiating with the West. A treaty directed against Germany had been discussed but was wrecked through Stalin's territorial claims on the Baltic states, ... Hitler sacrificed the Baltics & found in Stalin an equally cold-blooded partner. A secret agreement was drawn up between ... Molotov & ... Ribbentrop. Poland was to be divided between the two signatory states. On September 1, 1939, Hitler grabbed Danzig & thereby unleashed the war.
@DeuTT You are the typical Czech: a Waffen-SS Nazi avatar in your channel profile, but denying the Czech massacre and ethnic cleansing against between 253,500 up to 300,000 Sudeten (and Carpathian) Germans from 1945-1948. Czechs were all eager collaborators, and few (until Dec. 1944) considered Dr. Benes their "president" (he was nothing but an exiled politician legally speaking!). Dr. Emil Hácha in 1942 led demonstrations of million Czechs in Sv. Vacláv Square in Prague "against Allied terror"
@IustitiaPax And you are typical idiot without proper knowledge of essential facts: for example, the Wenceslas Square in Prague can hold only about 200,000 people, certainly not a million. Your other assertions are similarly "truthful". Wasted time for discuss with you, propagandist.
@IustitiaPax 20-40 thousand. Also, fascism had a suicide cult. Anything but being shot or hung is a fascist committing suicide unless specific proof is offered otherwise. Some starved themselves to death. Others poisoned themselves. Still others ate bullets.
The Beneš regime (1945-1947) and its extremist propaganda against the Sudeten Germans, ethnic Germans of Bohemian and Moravian exclaves and cities, and against the Carpathian German minority. The ethnic cleansing of ethnic German civilians is celebrated as "Czech heroism" against the "Germanic expansion" in the Czech lands. This is Democratic (and Communist influenced) nationalist propaganda. 300,000 Sudeten Germans were murdered in the process of expelling 3 million German civilians.
@IustitiaPax 300 000?Are you crazy or you read tales a lot? Some germans were killed during transportations. That's right, It was about 20 000 during 3 years.Yeah it wasn't good but against crimes what germans did to our nation during those fucking long 6 years it's really incomparable and it was just result what they did and when you're so clever do u know what sudeten germans did before WWII in Sudeten to czech people? I don't think so! They said ,,Heim ins Reich,, before WWII so they had it!!!
@Bobek27 What's this kind of nonsense? A Czech Neo-Nazi preaching to me (a Dutchman and a Dutch historian) about how the (orderly, conservative) Sudeten Germans "did something" to the Czech dominating Herrenmenschen of the 1st Czechoslovak Republic 1919-1939? The Sudeten Germans did nothing, and in November 1938 the Czech CSR state officials just WENT HOME to inner Czech lands from ethnic German Bohemia, ethnic German Moravian lands, and ethnic German (Czechoslovak) Austrian Silesia!
@Bobek27 The Czech people during WW2 suffered very little, they 'suffered' a baby-boom in 1941, and the Czech president was Dr. Emil Hácha (recognized by most). More Czechs died in Wehrmacht uniforms of Teschen Silesia than by "evil Nazi SS". If Dr. Edvard Benes and Masaryk had been less anti-Habsburg and less anti-German in 1919, 1938-1939 and 1939-45 would have been avoidable.
@Bobek27 The Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation was an empire of which the client Kingdom of Bohemia and the Margraviate of Moravia were member states of. Once again, you Czechs suffer from Pan-Slavic chauvinist myths. (80 % of Czech have ethnic German ancestry, and like Nymburk was a centre of Czech National Revival in 19th century, in 1650 AD it was still entirely German-speaking....) I am a historian, and the 253,000 murdered Sudeten German innocent victims are a sound HISTORICAL FACT!
@Bobek27 You as a Czech should seek mutual reconciliation. As early as 1950, the Sudeten German Association (Sudetendeutsche Landsmannschaft e.V.) repudiated revenge and new violence, and wanted a peaceful reconciliation between Czechs and Germans in mutual admission of faults and historical truth. This although the ethnic Germans suffered in higher numbers than Czechs ever did 1939-1945 in their Protektorát with Czech folklore and Czech 1st education paid by Nazi economy and Nazi Ruhr wealth!
@Bobek27 Lev Prchala (a former Teschen Silesian ethnic Czech 1st Czechoslovak Republic general, exiled by Communism in 1947) was a honoured guest of the Sudeten German Association, and he promoted peace. Why don't you like him? You as a Czech neonazi hate communism and glorify the Waffen-SS? Yet you attack ethnic Germans and you repeat the false Communist-inspired Czech falsification of history.
@Bobek27 A last word to you as a nationalist-chauvinist Czech: in April 1945 it was clear that the German Empire to which the Protektorát of Bohemia and Moravia belonged, would loose the war against three fronts of Soviets, De Gaulle, United States and England. Then the Czechs suddenly started to suffer from amnesia. For six years, Czechs had received German Reich's wealth, fine pensions, social security of Nazi models and the Protektorát for Czechs.
@Bobek27 (Continuing last words) However the Czechs now would face the Soviet Army and its revengeful Bolshevik face. "Fortunately" there was a Czechoslovak (mostly Czech, no "Slovak"!) Legion of the Red Army to "prove" by Gen. Svobodá that the "Czechs fought the Axis Powers and Nazi tyranny". Suddenly, Czech partisans became "heroes" and from April 1945 until 1950 started and continued to massacre, deport, imprison and cleanse ethnic Germans and their ethnic German historical ancestral lands.
@Bobek27 This hypocrisy is innate to Czech "thought" on history. Dr. Vacláv Klaus is a great critic of EU-megalomania and climate swindle theories (although always combined with rants against "German" Greens and "German" Socialists), but he (although ethnic German ancestral paternal lines) also preaches the anti-German rants for popular Czech collective fear to loose their (1945-1949 stolen) summer holiday homes in the "Border Lands" of the current Czech Republic.
@Bobek27 The Czechs in 1945 proved by their anti-German massacres to (even shocked and emotionally repelled) Soviet officers that the Czechs were "anti-Fascists". In reality, until March or April 1945, 95 % of you Czechs had collaborated with the German Reich and sometimes openly hoped for an Axis victory (although some more Czech independence than Dr. Hácha in the Protektorát could exercise). The Sudeten German innocent civilians were the collective Czech hypocrisy's scapegoat!
@Bobek27 The Czech "National Front" of the Beneš regime developed with the Czech Stalinists and Czech Chauvinist 'Democrats' alike from 1943, from May 1945 until early 1948 controlled the 2nd Czechoslovak (artificial, pseudo-democratic) Republic. On June 26, 1945 the NF Beneš regime's agents murdered by poison poor Dr. Emil Hácha, Protektorát and Czech state president from March 1939 until May 9, 1945. This was all Czech collective amnesia, to deny Czech 95 % collaboration. It is all hypocrisy.
@Bobek27 You as a Czech Neo-Nazi criticizing me (a truly Democratic) Dutchman and historian for my pleas in favour of the human rights of the Sudeten German victims (253,000 death victims, 3.1 million Sudeten German expelled victims who suffered abuse), are a supreme example of Czech historical amnesia and Czech hypocrisy.
@Bobek27 Dr. Emil Hácha's assassinnation is more known as a fact than the 1948 death of Jan Masaryk (a man who also was silent on the Sudeten Germans' innocent genocidal death). And I am Catholic, and I am no Msgr. Jan Šrámek! I trust neither liberal anticlerical social-'democrats' (Dr Edvard) nor Communists (Gottwald, Slánský)! I hate both. And I would have imprisoned kn. Josef Plojhar. And if Sudeten Germans return today, they won't expell Czechs to Soviet Union (their 'Empire' of Benes).
@IustitiaPax omg you're really crazy! Show me one historical document where is written then we killed 253 000??? I don't know where you studied history but I don't think so you did! Maybe you're historican but amateur and you don't know nothing... copy text from some shitty article can do everybody! Even Landsmanschaft said totally different number of victims about 20 000 like I said. I already read some your texts on youtube and you're just provocateur and you don't know nothing!
@Bobek27 The Sudetendeutsche Landsmannschaft and Alfred de Zayas and all Ministry of Expelled factual documents of West Germany give the number of 253,000 Sudeten Germans (not including Carpathian German victims from Czechoslovak-occupied Slovakia 1945-1949). The "20,000" number was never accepted by the Sudeten German Genocide survivors in diaspora in West Germany and Austria.
@IustitiaPax@IustitiaPax so show me some historical document! You don't have nothing. You do a propaganda and untruth! I can't believe that someone like you exist and claim that he's historian but he says bullshits like this without documents and facts! 253 000??? Are you nuts? And those shits about babyboom from 1941 and that our nation didn't suffered I can see you're totally foolish!
@IustitiaPax Počty padlých v letech 1939 až 1945 Celkem padlo, bylo popraveno nebo zavražděno 350 000 lidí Východní fronta - 5 620 Západní fronta a Afrika - 1 200 Partyzáni - 9 000 Slovenské národní povstání - 18 000 Oběti poprav - 8 500 Koncentrační tábory a holokaust - 307 680
Source: Die Sudetendeutsche Landsmannschaft
@Bobek27 it means that 200 000 were missing and most of that people were take by soviets to Siberia 'cause soviets toke almost everybody on the East who was german! So please Mr. Historical from halfmuslim country of Holland, learn something before u leave something from your mouth!
@Bobek27 232,000 went missing? MIssing? Nonsense. Unlike in eastern Poland and Upper Silesia, the Soviet military in the Czechoslovak Republic did not deport men to Siberia to any larger extent at all. So you invent reasons in order to "explain away" these (civilian!) victims of the criminal Edvard Benes regime.
@Bobek27 The Sudetendeutsche Landsmannschaft? Source? Original link? The Schwarzbuch der Vertreibung (based on official 1990 statistics of the German Ministry for the Expelled) and prof. Alfred de Zayas confirm the number of 253,000. The "20,000 dead" lies' propaganda is based on the presumption, that all murdered German civilians were "registered as victims" by the Benes regime or Czech Communist partisan gangs. Criminals do not register!
@P1B1U1H1 Yes, the Genocide of 300,000 Sudeten Germans from May 9, 1945 until January 1948 is a "miniscule fault". Germans are second-class persons to your race of people anyway. Like so many other people. Stop spamming my historical discussions please.
@IustitiaPax Multiplying deaths by at least ten renders your statement risible. There does not exist a German people. The Hapsburg empire was a wonderful multi-lingual entity.
@P1B1U1H1 You deny the verified number of casualties, because of Wikipedia and later political correct downplaying of the victims (leaving out those registered as missing, which includes 202,351 persons alone - who perished without registration though, or perpetually imprisoned). It is spelled Habsburg Empire, not Hapsburg. A German people does not exist? Excuse me? Then no people exist at all. And you should read Shlomo Sand, a great ethnologist (although I do not agree with him actually).
@IustitiaPax Nope. Just use the best available data. Also, you cannot deny that suicide was the goal of true believers after the death of their God, Adolf Hitler. There's a You Tube video called "suicide party" about those who offed themselves in Liepzig. Also, the Nazi's used a claim of expulsion of Sudetanland Germans as justification for partition of Czechoslovakia. Again, the Hapsburg Empire proved beyond a doubt that linguistic irredentism was a stinking pile of cow manure.
@P1B1U1H1 The Habsburg Empire, which I admire, was a multi-ethnic, multi-religious, tolerant, multi-national reconciliating monarchy, a Catholic state. A state in which the Jews were protected by the Catholic Emperor. You Jewish Americans hardly realize this. I criticize the Genocide and Expulsion of innocent Sudeten Germans from 1945-1948. I am not speaking about 1938, which was a military and political conflict weakening the artificial Czechoslovak state. The Slovaks also rejected state.
@P1B1U1H1 For a Habsburg Emperor, I think you meant to write. Oh yes, the Habsburgs were and still are very popular among the Haredim of Eastern Europe. The Munich Agreement of 1938 was nothing else than the clarification of selfdetermination rights of the peoples. This is why Poles (or Silesians) in Cieszyn Silesia desired rattachement to Poland. Poland also occupied Cieszyn Silesia/Zaolzie in 1938. The Sudeten Germans wanted to join Germany and the Ostmark in one Reich. This was democracy.
@IustitiaPax The Polish intrigue was partly responsible ultimately for partition. Yours is the first interpretation to come to my eyes that did not find Munich a precursor to Nazi conquest.
@P1B1U1H1 Munich 1938 was no precursor to any conquest, nor was the 7 March 1939 ultimatum of Germany to Lithuanian on its 1924 occupied Memel Territory and the town of Memel.
@P1B1U1H1 The Munich Agreement of 1938 merely respected the self-determination of peoples, as defined by Woodrow Wilson. As for the Gleiwitz Incident with the Polish soldiers attacking the radio station of Gleiwitz (now 'Gliwice'), this was reported at Nuremberg Trials by Naujocks, who staged it allegedly. Not Hitler. And it leaves out the innumerable other Polish cavallery and infantry border violations in other locations, e.g. near Johannisburg/Pisz in East Prussia. Gleiwitz is still mystery
What happened on Friday is called "Peace." Actually it is an international Fascist coup d'etat.
The "Four-Power Accord" is not even a diplomatic document. It is certainly not a normal treaty. It is such a fantastic piece of paper that it is difficult to describe except as a hurriedly concocted armistice made in advance of a war to permit the occupation by German troops of a territory which by sheer threat & demonstration of force they have conquered by "agreement."
@IustitiaPax All of the territory where there are more than fifty per cent of German-speaking peoples will be evacuated by the Czechoslovaks and occupied by the German Army within ten days although there are hundreds of thousands of people in this territory who are either not German or are anti-Nazi and therefore constitute a racial and political minority.
This document provides no protection whatsoever for their lives, their properties or their existences.
@IustitiaPax Not a clause indicates that they are to be protected in any manner from this occupation. Those of us who know & have seen what the Nazi authorities do to political minorities realize that this can only result in a panicky flight into the interior of Czechoslovakia. It means the open establishment of terror. No consideration is paid anywhere in this fantastic document to the reapportionment of financial & industrial interests
@IustitiaPax & this in spite of the fact that the British & French governments know that in the occupation of Austria the property of political minorities, & in particular of Jews, was simply confiscated. There is not the most elementary consideration of justice. An international commission will determine further territories in which a plebiscite is to be held, & will fix the conditions.
@IustitiaPax the ever-present threat that if the territories go German the political minorities will be exterminated, will assure the outcome of these plebiscites. One might just as well cede them to Germany in the first place.
___________
This is history. A fabulous statement of the situation by one of the greatest journalists who ever lived. .
@P1B1U1H1 Fabulous statement indeed. Only one month after our former fellow citizens got their "selfdetermination" and were reunited with their fellow Volksgenossen, they burnt down 35 synagoges in Sudetenland alone (eg. Opava/Troppau). Not a single word of protest .. this was their "peace for all times"..
@P1B1U1H1 yes, they could not wait. the city of Chomutov/Komotau was declared "judenrein" on September 23, 1938, before Munich agreement was in effect... this is what they called "liberation"... that's why the Czechoslovak government denied autonomy of so called Sudetenland, it was unacceptable that any racist Nuremberg laws be applied in one part of the country while the rest would be liberal democracy.. it would be like the Muslim minority declared Sharia laws to be applicable in Germany
@MvDrak Ha! Did not even know about Komotau. Not the racist laws, but the obvious next step precluded consideration of autonomy. You'd have to have been nuts, like Beck really was, not to think Hitler was going to grab the rest of Czechoslovakia after he got the Sudetenland. Did anyone really believe Lebensraum did not apply to the rest of Czechoslovakia? As for Sharia, a better example IMHO is Kashmir, a definite part of India that "needs" to be part of Pakistan.
@IustitiaPax One other point. Have visited Britain, France, the Netherlands, and Germany (that's a lot for someone living across an ocean). My favorite place was Düsseldorf. The people are fabulous. They suffer from one delusion. Somehow they believe that if thousands of persons are illegally parked on Sunday, the police will not be able to ticket them all. Unfortunately, the cops on the bikes are quite efficient.
I was hoping the video would have english subtitles. My mother was a german girl expelled from Czechoslovakia in August 1945 and I am writing her story for a research paper for college and watching the video validates everything she told me but being able to understand it would have been great.

IustitiaPax 8 months ago

@IustitiaPax de Zayas is an apologist for Nazi Germany.
P1B1U1H1 5 months ago
@P1B1U1H1 Yes, of course all who merely document the ethnic cleansing and crimes against Germans are 'Nazi apologists'. How simplistic. Not unexpected for a Jewish American, who cannot think in other terms. Alfred de Zayas is a professor of international law and a United Nations high commissioner. He is a Cuban American, not a German. It is utterly ridiculous. As are your other claims. You think you can hold back historical objective truth on the internet. Good luck. You loose.
IustitiaPax 5 months ago

P1B1U1H1 5 months ago
@IustitiaPax Here's a sentence for you: The Germans of the East were the ones who suffered most for the politics of Hitler ,and doubly so. Before they were expelled from their eastern German homelands,
a significant number of their leaders fell victim to Hitler. The German resistance to Hitler was essentially driven and directed by the Prussian nobility and the Prussian corps of officers.
_________
He says that Adolf Hitler was the bad guy with respect to these people.
P1B1U1H1 5 months ago
@IustitiaPax I had the fellow wrong, as you assert, because the distortion of what he said. Here's more: These eastern Germans tried to save their country. But did they succeed in the end? At least their sacrifice stands out as proof that not all Germans were in agreement with Hitler's criminal policies, which brought so much chaos and suffering onto the world, and so much disgrace onto the Germans themselves.
____________
The responsibility is laid squarely at the feet of ADOLF HITLER.
P1B1U1H1 5 months ago
@IustitiaPax Adore this paragraph: Even in Germany certain circles rejected Hitler's machinations in the Sudeten question. Responsible officers did not want an European war & actually decided to arrest Hitler in order to put an end to his irresponsible & deadly game. General Ludwig Beck together with Generals Franz Halder, Hans Oster & Erwin von Wimeben drafted plans for a coup d'etat. But the "appeasement politics" of British Prime Minister Chamberlain frustrated these plans.
P1B1U1H1 5 months ago

Bobek27 8 months ago
IustitiaPax 8 months ago
@Bobek27 The Czech people during WW2 suffered very little, they 'suffered' a baby-boom in 1941, and the Czech president was Dr. Emil Hácha (recognized by most). More Czechs died in Wehrmacht uniforms of Teschen Silesia than by "evil Nazi SS". If Dr. Edvard Benes and Masaryk had been less anti-Habsburg and less anti-German in 1919, 1938-1939 and 1939-45 would have been avoidable.
IustitiaPax 8 months ago
@Bobek27 The Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation was an empire of which the client Kingdom of Bohemia and the Margraviate of Moravia were member states of. Once again, you Czechs suffer from Pan-Slavic chauvinist myths. (80 % of Czech have ethnic German ancestry, and like Nymburk was a centre of Czech National Revival in 19th century, in 1650 AD it was still entirely German-speaking....) I am a historian, and the 253,000 murdered Sudeten German innocent victims are a sound HISTORICAL FACT!
IustitiaPax 8 months ago
@Bobek27 You as a Czech should seek mutual reconciliation. As early as 1950, the Sudeten German Association (Sudetendeutsche Landsmannschaft e.V.) repudiated revenge and new violence, and wanted a peaceful reconciliation between Czechs and Germans in mutual admission of faults and historical truth. This although the ethnic Germans suffered in higher numbers than Czechs ever did 1939-1945 in their Protektorát with Czech folklore and Czech 1st education paid by Nazi economy and Nazi Ruhr wealth!
IustitiaPax 8 months ago
@Bobek27 Lev Prchala (a former Teschen Silesian ethnic Czech 1st Czechoslovak Republic general, exiled by Communism in 1947) was a honoured guest of the Sudeten German Association, and he promoted peace. Why don't you like him? You as a Czech neonazi hate communism and glorify the Waffen-SS? Yet you attack ethnic Germans and you repeat the false Communist-inspired Czech falsification of history.
IustitiaPax 8 months ago
@Bobek27 A last word to you as a nationalist-chauvinist Czech: in April 1945 it was clear that the German Empire to which the Protektorát of Bohemia and Moravia belonged, would loose the war against three fronts of Soviets, De Gaulle, United States and England. Then the Czechs suddenly started to suffer from amnesia. For six years, Czechs had received German Reich's wealth, fine pensions, social security of Nazi models and the Protektorát for Czechs.
IustitiaPax 8 months ago
IustitiaPax 8 months ago
@Bobek27 This hypocrisy is innate to Czech "thought" on history. Dr. Vacláv Klaus is a great critic of EU-megalomania and climate swindle theories (although always combined with rants against "German" Greens and "German" Socialists), but he (although ethnic German ancestral paternal lines) also preaches the anti-German rants for popular Czech collective fear to loose their (1945-1949 stolen) summer holiday homes in the "Border Lands" of the current Czech Republic.
IustitiaPax 8 months ago
@Bobek27 The Czechs in 1945 proved by their anti-German massacres to (even shocked and emotionally repelled) Soviet officers that the Czechs were "anti-Fascists". In reality, until March or April 1945, 95 % of you Czechs had collaborated with the German Reich and sometimes openly hoped for an Axis victory (although some more Czech independence than Dr. Hácha in the Protektorát could exercise). The Sudeten German innocent civilians were the collective Czech hypocrisy's scapegoat!
IustitiaPax 8 months ago
IustitiaPax 8 months ago
@Bobek27 You as a Czech Neo-Nazi criticizing me (a truly Democratic) Dutchman and historian for my pleas in favour of the human rights of the Sudeten German victims (253,000 death victims, 3.1 million Sudeten German expelled victims who suffered abuse), are a supreme example of Czech historical amnesia and Czech hypocrisy.
IustitiaPax 8 months ago

@Bobek27 232,000 went missing? MIssing? Nonsense.

IustitiaPax 4 months ago
@IustitiaPax Multiplying deaths by at least ten renders your statement risible. There does not exist a German people. The Hapsburg empire was a wonderful multi-lingual entity.
P1B1U1H1 4 months ago
@P1B1U1H1 You deny the verified number of casualties, because of Wikipedia and later political correct downplaying of the victims (leaving out those registered as missing, which includes 202,351 persons alone - who perished without registration though, or perpetually imprisoned). It is spelled Habsburg Empire, not Hapsburg. A German people does not exist? Excuse me? Then no people exist at all. And you should read Shlomo Sand, a great ethnologist (although I do not agree with him actually).
IustitiaPax 4 months ago
@IustitiaPax Nope. Just use the best available data. Also, you cannot deny that suicide was the goal of true believers after the death of their God, Adolf Hitler. There's a You Tube video called "suicide party" about those who offed themselves in Liepzig. Also, the Nazi's used a claim of expulsion of Sudetanland Germans as justification for partition of Czechoslovakia. Again, the Hapsburg Empire proved beyond a doubt that linguistic irredentism was a stinking pile of cow manure.
P1B1U1H1 4 months ago
@P1B1U1H1 The Habsburg Empire, which I admire, was a multi-ethnic, multi-religious, tolerant, multi-national reconciliating monarchy, a Catholic state. A state in which the Jews were protected by the Catholic Emperor. You Jewish Americans hardly realize this. I criticize the Genocide and Expulsion of innocent Sudeten Germans from 1945-1948. I am not speaking about 1938, which was a military and political conflict weakening the artificial Czechoslovak state. The Slovaks also rejected state.
IustitiaPax 3 months ago
@IustitiaPax One ancestor played violin for a Hapsburg empire, or so I am told. Munich was preparation for conquest of Eastern Europe by Hitler.
P1B1U1H1 3 months ago
IustitiaPax 3 months ago
@IustitiaPax The Polish intrigue was partly responsible ultimately for partition. Yours is the first interpretation to come to my eyes that did not find Munich a precursor to Nazi conquest.
P1B1U1H1 3 months ago
@P1B1U1H1 Munich 1938 was no precursor to any conquest, nor was the 7 March 1939 ultimatum of Germany to Lithuanian on its 1924 occupied Memel Territory and the town of Memel.
IustitiaPax 3 months ago
@IustitiaPax If Munich was not a precursor, why did Hitler dress German soldiers as Polish soldiers & pretend they attacked Germany?
P1B1U1H1 3 months ago

@IustitiaPax Ms Thompson:
P1B1U1H1 3 months ago
@IustitiaPax All of the territory where there are more than fifty per cent of German-speaking peoples will be evacuated by the Czechoslovaks and occupied by the German Army within ten days although there are hundreds of thousands of people in this territory who are either not German or are anti-Nazi and therefore constitute a racial and political minority.
This document provides no protection whatsoever for their lives, their properties or their existences.
P1B1U1H1 3 months ago
@IustitiaPax Not a clause indicates that they are to be protected in any manner from this occupation. Those of us who know & have seen what the Nazi authorities do to political minorities realize that this can only result in a panicky flight into the interior of Czechoslovakia. It means the open establishment of terror. No consideration is paid anywhere in this fantastic document to the reapportionment of financial & industrial interests
P1B1U1H1 3 months ago
@IustitiaPax & this in spite of the fact that the British & French governments know that in the occupation of Austria the property of political minorities, & in particular of Jews, was simply confiscated. There is not the most elementary consideration of justice. An international commission will determine further territories in which a plebiscite is to be held, & will fix the conditions.
P1B1U1H1 3 months ago
@IustitiaPax the ever-present threat that if the territories go German the political minorities will be exterminated, will assure the outcome of these plebiscites. One might just as well cede them to Germany in the first place.

@MvDrak Nazis claimed "expulsion" BEFORE annexing the Sudetanland!
P1B1U1H1 3 months ago
@P1B1U1H1 yes, they could not wait. the city of Chomutov/Komotau was declared "judenrein" on September 23, 1938, before Munich agreement was in effect... this is what they called "liberation"... that's why the Czechoslovak government denied autonomy of so called Sudetenland, it was unacceptable that any racist Nuremberg laws be applied in one part of the country while the rest would be liberal democracy.. it would be like the Muslim minority declared Sharia laws to be applicable in Germany
MvDrak 3 months ago

Unfortunately, the cops on the bikes are quite efficient.
