  • 03:20 is my favorite part

  • I absolutely LOVE the look on Sally's face at the end of the number ... around 4:55 ... she looks so exhilarated and proud of herself ;)

  • i got to get this on dvd!

  • Wth happen to her

  • the ULTIMATE "IT" girl, heaven!

  • its amazing that chair doesn't fall down

  • @zinazina11 I think its bolted down..

  • Ahh Fosse we miss the trademark strength and upraised shoulders. Murder to dance though, I don't wonder she got arthritis, I've had more injuries doing fosse than classical ballet!

  • burlesque ripped this off.

  • Liza reminds me of Lady Gaga... <3 :)

  • @LaredKroenen Lady Gaga could only HOPE AND WISH to have the talent the lint has in Liza's pockets. Blasphemy.

  • MEIN CHAIR

  • what does he say to her just before she starts?!

  • Grew up obsessed with this Liza and this show, and was lucky to play the Emcee later in life. Liza won every bit of that Oscar in this role!

  • What an amazing number. I'm in this show right now, and it's not in the score we have, so the girl who is playing Sally requested it and so we put i back in! I'm soooo happy. One of my favorite songs.

  • I remember watching this when it first came out. I had forgotten just how powerful a performer Liza was. I haven't/hadn't followed her much, despite being a friend of Dorothy's. Her dancing and singing was strong and powerful. I'm glad I landed on this page and got a reminder.

  • 2:22 planking!

  • All I can say... she is the only, LISA... Rene, Christina and Catherine are just a cheap copy of LISA... Bella, bellisima, la mia bambina...

  • when i see you perform i get goose bumps of joy. lord, you are a great performer. take care of yourself and watch the people around you. you are too prescious to lose. i love you. jo ann

  • So clever

  • Liza is one of the greatest singers and performers of all times.

  • Liza must have strong leg muscels

  • I wish i was that chair

  • Liza Minelli is great we ove her

    Greets from Germany

  • Check out my video of Maybe This Time by Samantha Migneault (:.

For some reason I'm not able to post it here as a response

  • Bob Fosse was a genius. He wrote, directed, acted, danced, produced and choreographed, he simply rocked, mein herr.

  • She sounds just like her mother, crazy! Love Liza :D

  • @ThePaperFalcon she does sound like Judy! SWANEE HOW I LOVE YA HOW I LOVE YA!!!!

  • 11 people don't like chairs

  • Imagine what it would have been like if Ann Reinking were dancing the part. I wish there could be an imaginary combination of Liza's voice and Reinking's fantastic shimmys and shoulders and arm and hand movements. I've just been watching Reinking in some videos and Liza looks stiff and not sexy at all in comparison. But she has a wonderful face and voice.

  • @hkins

Sally Bowles was an amateur and so Fosse and Liza deliberately made her performance the stiff, jerky, over-exuberent gestures of an enthusiastic exhibitionist who'd never had a dance lesson. Liza permanently damaged her back doing those moves.

  • @custardaghost What are you talking about! if you are a dancer or not there is nothing there that will injure her back . As for stiff and jerky! i think you mean stylised , that was Bob Fosse!!

  • This has to be one of the best moments in cinema.

  • This has to be one of the best moments in cinema.

  • Love it! Lol, "I want you for my wife!" "....Your wife? What would she want with me?"

  • This video is excellent

  • i love the german parts of this song^-^

she did them really well <3

    Bye bye, mein lieber Herr

    Auf Wiedersehen, mein Herr

Es war sehr gut, mein Herr, und vorbei!

Du kennst mich wohl, mein Herr

    Ach, lebe wohl, mein Herr

Du sollst mich nie mehr sehen, mein Herr!

    X'DDDDDDDDDDDD

    <3

  • Liza Minelli is Judy Garlands daughter!!

  • Brilliance. <3

  • I LOVE THIS!!!! Bob Fosse is amazing love his choreography.

  • one of the most iconic sceans in cinima

  • Simply put, the entire movie is brilliant.

  • poor chair

  • Great movie

    Grea tLiza

    Thanks

  • Nobody does Cabaret like Liza!

  • @luvmykids71 (Now Dame) Judi Dench (in her pre- dowager empress era) won a Tony for her 1966 Broadway Sally Bowles. Wonder if any clips are on YouTube or elsewhere?

  • What a film!! One the best I've seen!! I couldn't have been made with anyone but Great Liza!!

  • Hey stargazers haven't read King Lear - Edmund's soliloquy? You know the one that goes, 'this is the excellent foppery of the world that when we are knaves, thieves and vagabonds etc etc ... we lay our goatish disposition on the charge of a star

That was 400 odd years ago and we still believe in star signs! Ps I am Pisces so I believe that particular analysis lol

  • @jnmklo9 "Thou Nature art my goddess! to thy laws my services are bound. Wherefor should I stand in the plague of custom, as the curiosity of nations reasons it thus & thus, for that I am but 12 or 14 moonshines lag . . . ?" Shagspear the superstar Elizabethan 1 dramaturge 4ever !

  • id bust my ass doing that on a chair :(

  • who he hell could put their leg up on a chair like that at any age? yeah that's right, Liza. haters gonna hate!

  • Liza is perfect in all things. See video for proof.

  • I love this performance!

  • She is a force of nature in this show. She is not beautiful. She is not graceful. It is all that voice and seemingly endless charisma.

  • Strangely this song wasn't in the original Broadway version. It was written for the film. Another interesting thing about this phenomenal film is that Bob Fosse requested that the females in the cast didn't shave their armpits. A few didn't but most couldn't do it including Liza! Bob Fosse was an incredible talent!!!

  • Always been one of my favorite pieces of Bob Fosse's. Amazing work, plus it was a small stage. Liza's terrific. She's looking good too. She was Drop Dead Diva with Delta Burke as physic sisters. They both looked good.

  • She and Joel Gray were great in this. But think Bob Fosse's direction was the real force here. Is my favorite musical too, and one of two that works, without seeming too contrived, in this millenium. The other is Chicago, which made a few musical light weights look respectable.

  • I would have killed to be a dancer on this set.

  • Nice body, nice moves!

  • she always will be THE GREAT ARTIST she was, forever and ever her name will be remember as LIZZA

  • Very nicely done! Thank you.

  • nice song i have 2 do it for my spring show

  • Some of my favorites while i'm doin the music video thang!!

  • got me to dance !

  • 子供の頃に見て、衝撃を受けたのを覚えています。素晴らしい♪

  • Caberet, is just fantastic! My favorite musical by a long shot...Joel Grey and Liza were amazing! Dark, twisted, and sweet and tender.....art imitates life....just wonderful!

  • Lizi is wonderful - she's uplifting in her acting and singing isn't that what its all about?

  • Liza rocks even now I am still attracted to her

  • hahaha @MichaelinNewEngand "Mein Hair"

    great song

  • I love her!!!! So amazing!!

  • Liza was just fabulous in this film

  • In the special features of the Cabaret DVD Liza said that Alice Cooper was talking to her he may have even called her up, gushed all over her then he thanked her for his career. I believe this scene had everything to do with it.

  • I adore this woman though i dont think i was born by the time this film came out i love it. Liza <3

  • THIS JIG WON HER THE OSCAR MEIN HEIR.

  • fantastisch!!!

  • i like it! :)

  • LOVE her!

  • shes amazing

  • Liza is 63 now looks wonderful and she just won the 4th yes 4th TONY!!!!!!!

  • Dear AJ,

Sorry I clicked on the wrong "thumbs" - meant to click on the "thumbs UP"!

Anyway, anyone who's truly appreciative of Liza's incredible talent, should watch "That's Entertainment" (the original part one). On it is Liza saying words that will last forever... "Thank God for film. You can capture a moment and have it last forever..."

    'Nuff said.

  • Jesus, give her a break. She has arthritis, 3 hip replacements and that was more than a decade ago and she is still performing.

Not to long ago, Liza also had surgery on her damaged vocal chords which was the same surgery that caused Julie Andrews to loose her singing voice. Oh, and she has had several surgeries to repair her knees.

    BTW Liza's loosing weight.

  • When you have done work as such as this, you better have achieved something big before passing comment. Little she has done since has matched Cabaret, but a it is a fine piece of work that will be remembered long after we are forgotten. We should be thankful for being given this.

  • @OneoftheImmortals I loved her on Arrested Development.

  • @OneoftheImmortals I agree with you, but for the future it's LOSE. You LOSE weight, you LOSE your singing voice. Loose....means something else, unfortunately.

  • @OneoftheImmortals And in 2000 Liza had viral meningitis that boded to cost her her ability to speak. A triumphal catapult back from that! In Cabaret, her singing and dancing were sui generis (unique) miracles of inspired acting, melodiousness, flawlessly executed rhythmic precision and limberness. An eternal joy!

  • @OneoftheImmortals Not to mention she had encephalitis not long ago. Most people who get encephalitis barely walk again, let alone learn to dance and sing again in their sixties and continue putting on sell-out shows.

  • @OneoftheImmortals

Julie Andrews and Liza M. lost their voice and they are still beautiful as ever <3

but I never knew that liza is loosing weight... :(

I love both of them <3

  • She looks like her Mother in this I think when Judy performed "Get Happy" in "Summer Stock"

  • Madonna ripped this of for her Keep It Together performance from 1990 :D

  • This is my favorite song in the movie. Though, and strike me down for saying it, I'm not a big fan Liza, I adore this scene, she had it down perfect

  • can you still do musical theatre like that now a days in colege and as a job

  • She's just a natural performer. And I love Cabaret because it's a dark musical which makes it the coolest musical ever.

  • men by men mile by mile very great lol

  • 10x

  • Liza is a special talent.

  • LIZA LIZA LIZA WOW

  • Ez a valódi Cabaret

  • I love her

  • She is amazing here. She is only as old as Cher, and if she had Cher's trainer, she would still be a superstar. C'mon Liza, the world is missing out on still seeing this kind of performance.

  • Go see her one woman show at the Palace.

    She lacks nothing.

  • @christiv3 I don't think it's so much their trainer rather than their lifestyle choices. artistically speaking (NOT using the term "artist" liberally) Cher is/was much less gifted than Liza, but maybe for that reason, Cher kept amazingly focused on her carreer with amaing discipline (kinda like Madonna) decade after decade; while Liza has had a tough time with substance abuse throughout her life.

  • @cleo715

Indeed Cher is a Taurus- They are incrediable hardworking people and finicailly driven. And Madonna a virgo is also very simliar.

Liza is a Pisces, the most artistic people in the zodiac. Also the most addictive personailty. Though art is our passion (creating,viewing/enjoying) is brings us to life so she probably be doing this till she cant move anymore.

  • @ChilenoPiscean22 Great & original insight! Just a correction though: Madonna is a hardcore Leo (we share b-days: Aug/16); and yes, when Leos have a goal in mind we get extremely passionate about it and get there through commitment and discipline. We're also known for a taste for the "finer things" in life too, and being the center of attention can be almost addictive...

  • @christiv3 ---sweetie....Liza is considred a superstar ..sweetie, DO some research !!

  • All of her movements are so fluid and graceful. She's fantastic!!!

  • This is such a great scene and what a GREAT NUMBER DONE BY SUCH AN AMAZING PERFORMER. You gotta love both, the musical and the movie.

  • Liza F@#$ing Minnelli my god i love her!

  • grande liza!!!!una leggenda del musical americano

  • class

-never thought green nail varnish could look good with anything til now

  • Divine Decadence.

  • The Top 4 off So You Think You Can Dance season 3 danced off this song. It was great and I never saw this and since I have I love it!!

  • This movie sacres me, no offence.

  • It is ok to be scarred. The movie is about a very frightening time in world history.

  • well in its own sense, its just creepy......

  • @toplaycool Becuz it so closely reflects the world we live in today...

  • Like the way you say with chair...

  • LIZA is great at anything she does. A real Super Star. LIZA won an Oscar for best actress for her performance in Cabaret. Love ya!

  • Great film

  • She's awesome in Arrested Development! WIth her Vertigo and love affair with Buster!

  • Wow thats pretty cool ^-^

  • this movie is amazing, liza is incredible!!! i love this coreography ^_^

  • i do love Liza but she ain't her mama. Her mama was the belter of pure life.

  • if you like this, you probably already know, but you should check out the dresden dolls take on this, key words: dresden dolls mein heir roundhouse

    it fantastic.

  • Alas, they don't make them like that anymore.

Madonna's "interpretation"? She isn't fit to suck on Liza Minelli's toes.

  • this is such fun

loved it, loved it, loved it
