So what of Patches gets the occational hamburger and enjoys rides in the car (that was converted for the horse)? as slow as the car was going amd the contentment of the animal, i see no problem. they also had a lead rope on the horse...that horse is happy, are you?

like, oh th weight of the guts/organs when lying down can put pressure on the hear/lungs and after a while they overdo it and cant get back up.. my idea is if the horse wants to do it. not forced (cough*) it will just do it. no thought / idea. just cause it can. its almost like there brother died and came back re encarnated as a horse. drinks beer,watches westerns,loves cheeseburgers,and waits for that phone call. haha NO WAY

Really, as long as a horse doesn't have any digestive problems, they can eat meat. Also, one cheeseburger is nothing to a horse. Patches most likely weighs 500-600 pounds? I'm not sure, I've never had ponies, only large horses. The ratio of a few ounces of meat to the weight and the volume of hay that they horse would eat in a day, well, it's trivial really.
