  • good

  • Diana Krall live at montreal - Devil may Care

  • PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT GIG THIS IS/ RECORD

  • fantastic playing by all concerned. Wilson has such a great sense of phrasing

  • When it comes to straight ahead swing, nobody can touch Erskine. Mmmm, that's one tasty solo. Thank you Peter. Let us bask in the warm glow of your drum mastery.

  • good shit, real choppy ending though.

  • Chords sound like I'll remember april a little

  • In my opinion Erskine sounds better than Gadd .

  • ..that's my opinion, as well

  • Anybody want to put up gadd against the master here? Bring it . Pity the fool.

  • If every drummer watched this guy once a week for a year it would be the perfect tonic for overplaying.

  • I liked Peter´s powerfull swinging.

That fucking snare sounds pretty good!

  • truth in music says..how excellent!

  • Great Peter...

  • Peter Erskine is typically swinging and tasteful. This solo is so melodic, and the part where he half times it, and they come back in on the upbeat. Tight, my goodness. Children take notice.

  • youre an idiot. watch any brad mehldau video and tell me if he's looking around at his musicians while playing

  • Well he (brad mehldau) is watching his fellow musicians, not all the time but he certainly does. I've see it a couple of months ago in London (UK) and I remember I noticed the interaction by watching each other.

On the other hand, Krall and her band are communicating without doubt. Like 'accurate18' says very well, it's the band that decides the way they feel happy.

  • The fact that she's not facing them doesn't mean she's ignoring them. It's a comfortability thing...every band leader sets up his band onstage the way they feel better. Pat Metheny will always have his musicians in the back and his drummer to his left, right on his ear, but that doesn't mean he has a crush on the drummer...he just feels safer having his drummer next to him.-

  • Jazz isn't ALL about seeing other musicians. Looks like Marcus Roberts is pathetic... sorry marcus, guess you're pathetic!

  • @drosshaug It's this crazy ability that most humans have called "turning around". Why don't you bring that up next time you jam with Peter Erskine?

  • you've just seen my all time favourite drum solo here.

  • I don't know if I can say the same...but I am blown away, for sure..

so musical, so technically excellent, o my

  • don't think my my mouth has been this big ever. this is fucking amazing.just so talented.

  • Peter Erskine is no joke, serious business, a true master

  • I love Diana

  • What´s the name of this song, anthony wilson and Diana Krall is Awesome. RIP Anthony

  • The song is called "Devil May Care".

This video is from the DVD of Diana Krall live a Montreal Jazz Festival.

  • is Anthony dead?

  • I believe he's talking about Tony Wilson the indie record label exec. At least I hope that's who he's talking about.

  • Peter Erskine's drum solo is what MAKES this version the best I've ever heard. His final riff is so syncopated, it's ridiculous.

Diana Krall never has sounded so good as she does with Erskine, Hurst, & Wilson.

  • AW is ssssssssssmmmokkkin' Yep, he's a bad boy!

  • nice

  • Anthony Wilson is a bad man - and so is Peter Erskine. Awesome.
