its a pity that central (where most of these nigerians are located) is far from the township- otherwise they wouldve fled the city long ago, xhosas dont f**k around with such scum
southern italy has the same problem . apparently there is an island south of italy also run by ex nigerians -same problem.Currently where I live nigerians have been denied visa entry via plane or ship and if caught deported straight away no questions asked. its sad that a majority ruin it for the minority.
I am Brazilian and still live in Brazil. I´ve been to Port Elizabeth in the winter of 1985. It was a marvellous time I had. I loved to walk along PE´s sidewalks. It was so safe, easygoing and quite safe in spite of those difficult apartheid times. It is very sad for me to watch this video now and see what is going out there. It was so cold, but lovely to get around.
The guy sitting on his front porch with his wife @:24 should be a spokesperson for the Board of Tourism. He sure makes me want to visit Port Elizabeth. He and his wife look like people I'd like to sit down with and have a cup of coffee.
I was born in PE and grew up there. My mother and brother still live there. I lived in Central for a year after I was married, but moved to Jhb in 93. I now live in Wellington NZ. Very similar to PE in the 70s and 80s. Then again this is probably expected. Very sad.
i was also born in pe in 77, lived there in the 80's as a child, it was a truly special place to be a child. i spent a lot of time in central at my godparents house on the hill, went to art school by the fort. moved to joburg in 89. my parents moved back to pe in 2001, i lived there for a year in 2003; its very sad to what its become in Central - Its a real pit. i have moved to NZ this year, i find many parallels between Auckland & PE. I have heard Wellington is very similar to what PE was.
i was born in pe and left for england in 1991 i have to say its a disgrace to women like that being hookers on the street.mind you i would never in my time living there have witness the two white girls meeting with that black man on street for sex like they did.i guess times have changed,i a coloured man from salt lake /west end area.
F......I grew up in this area, lived in Belmont Terrace, walked to Holy Rosary Convent and played in Trinder Square on the way to and from school, spent millions of kilojoules running up and down the Donkin and adjacent hills also! This is the place where all my dreams still take place. What is going on? Looks like same old greed, people making a few miserable dollars out of others misery! Hope PE can regain its' former beauty and the wonderful monumental architecture is restored. Make PE safe.
mostly, no wrong. Yet, let these taller northerners run a district? Police? Not doing too well. There's nothing racist about making sure that non SA criminals, either go 5 star, or are deported. the majority of the people in the E Cape have worked at changing from the past; not so as there would be no future. I was told that charity begins at home. This is the centre of the Nelson Mandela Metropol. A wake up call for the civil servants is beyond needed.
After all the wrongs, rights, pain, struggles and adjusments that have been made in the Eastern Cape,it seems rather senseless to hand any part of P E city over to people with just a more worldwidely sense; because they're physically taller? Are they tougher, smarter, invincible? There will always be crime...but at least it should be home grown and translatable. Zimbabweans have been forced back home, having done..ctnd
curb crawlers, drug users, prostitutes, complacent authority figures(in this vid)so comfortable in the shit they live in, they cant move!, to do anything about the problem - , the churches dead, are all WHITE. the BLACKS moving in, 4 most, a step up from what they had, partying no worse than most 15-25yr + older WHITE in some club or private venue on ecstacy and snorting coke, and I've seen it. & the rest of society looks on & passers by
The difference between these people and the "older WHITES in some club or private venue on ecstacy and snorting coke" is that these guys are doing it on the street, in residential areas and have totally overtaken and ruined what was once a beautiful, historical area.
The cars that go riding round and round looking for prostitutes are also mostly white men looking for prostitutes, some obviously wealthy, if one looks at the cars they drive.! The video shows young white men admitting to spending thousands of rands on crack. In my humble opinion its those WHITES who are responsible for the moral decay in the area. Central has had this problem for the better of close to 15 years, why only now when the situation has spiralled out of control do ppl complain.
We all know tht drugs and prostitutions go hand in hand. Every single city in the world has area such as Central and very many of those cities have it much worse. You dont see them posting videos about their 'red light district' Instead of whining and airing dirty laundry, why dont those complaining assist in doing something about the problem. Clearly some South Africans have no pride.
Nigerins dont destroy, they might be selling drugs, but theres a market for it and most of the users are white people, all of whom have been warned about the dangers of drugs, yet they still buy
@mommaroodles Wow what a statement!! Nigerians don't destroy, they might sell drugs?!?!?! Sounds like you're a member of the ANC & was Julias Malemas classmate.
@Truthat77 What I sound like and the facts that I presented is two very different things.
I've lived here for close to 20 yrs. I've see this every day of my life. the majority of drug users in the area are white ppl - without the demand for drugs in this area, nigerians would not be able to sell their shit here.
@mommaroodles Ignorance? I don't think so. I am an ex addict & was for many many years. Your experience is from observation & based on opinion. Mine is based on living in that life for almost 15 years. Nigerians very often & typically create drug markets even when there isn't any. This by kidnapping kids & turning them into addicts & prostitutes, something quite common in Central Port Elizabeth SA. Facts with plenty evidence to back it up should you not believe it from one who was there.
Why give rich Mr. Denton a tax incentive to demolish and collect a depreciation incentive from the tax payers over a four year period, just pass a bylaw that he may not neglect the buildings, give him a time limit to comply, or the properties will be reposessed. Plain and simple.
this video clearly depicts the moral decay and abscence of true family values amongst the whites and coloureds, the blacks no longer living in corrugated shacks, the nigerians all be it through some sordid means, have also acquired a number of businesses operating in and around Central, from cell shops, internet cafes, clothing shops, pubs & grubs, hair salons, churches, more drug pushers come in while others set them selfup in buss.
Us whiteys - we in for a very rude awakening here in Central
I am from PE and have recently moved to Melbourne Australia. There is no place like PE, when I come home I am going to find out more about the situation. Thanks for posting this video! It's much appreciated.

I'm a limey who stayed and worked in PE in the 80's. Bought a house in Lorraine 3 years ago and visit every six months.A large proportion of these slums are owned by Ken Denton an Irish slum landlord who apparently has some of the senior [white] council officers and black councillors in his pocket. I believe this was shown on SABC last year and has been edited. SAPS don't risk their lives with Nigerians and why should they given the corruption and lack of 'capacity' in the municipality.
this is lee mottram on my mates you tube im also english but i grew up smoking dullah in central whilst working as a barnan in a whorehouse (club eden) in enid street i was living with the bouncer bruce who worked as a doorman for club mermaid life was tough but it was the despair for the future that affected me the most thank god for my passport and when will the anc get over mandelas legacy and start accounting for thier failiures whos voting for these people?
Journeyman pictures your videos are so powerful. Thanks for this one. This is my hometown but nothing like I remember it.I have watercolor prints of the Donkin Reserve and other landmarks proudly displayed here in my home in California. That is the PE I will remember. I left PE in 1990 and this video made me cry. The burnt out building at 17min 31 sec made me so mad. That was my school Holy Rosary Convent. This is just tragic. The country is run by scum.
Yep, I remember Holy Rosary - my mom actually went there back in the day. I was at Grey, Alex and then Union High. I am so completely pissed off at what is being done to PE....and SA in general. Clint, California to Hawaii and now in S.Carolina.
I worked in western bar and yea the clientel were rough but they had respect for me the only English among them. I wish I could say the same about the english in england they just have no respect for anything not even themselves.
I used to work in Western hill pool bar for two years as their barmaid and they reckoned as a Limey bird I wouldnt last 3 weeks. Then it was notorious . Rough it may have been but they all had respect for me and my bar and I had respect for them and their way of life. I'm back in England and I have yet to see people respect each other let alone themselves. English born and bred but for genuine people give me the South Africans every time.

BLACK people are not poor because they live in AFRICA!
AFRICA is poor because it is filled with BLACK people!
Look around the world ALL black communities are poor and violent!
It's GENETIC! Stupid/violent blacks create Poor/violent cities and nations!
