This is another metal-esque cover by Disturbed. This video even rips off Genesis by using their original video! Can this version with its menacing snarls even relate to the cold-war politics that this song references? Genesis hit the nail on the head - but this one falls short.
This is Genesis' video, and you should pay more attention before you comment. David Draiman's reasons for this remake is due in large part to the fact that it is as relevant now a it was when it was made.

darkwaver4v3r-Sorry if you didn't like my critique. BTW, I KNOW it's a Genesis video AND I never said it wasn't relevant. I also never said the song "sucked". What I MEANT was that this "remake" does not showcase an individual take on the song. It is ONLY a cover, done in metal style - w/o originality in presentation. I'd have been impressed to see a 21st c. take on this song, referencing today's political climate. The video depicts the Cold War politics of the 80's perfectly, but this is 2008.
I thank you for your opinion about my video, but I would like to ask you how the subject material of the song has no meaning in this day and age, or o you say. The lyrics depict the stagnation of the political and financial machine that soils the ideas of our nation. This video is my personal tribute to a song that has aged very well. By saying that it is outdated mars the name of this great song, and it's powerful message.
Hmm, I like Genesis's version a lot better. Arrangement wise, this doesn't compare IMO. Also, the vocals in the bridge just sound so inappropriate (the growl on "held you tight").
dont really like this "remake". The video was supposed to be for the genesis version which was made like in the 60's. It dosnt fit the hardcore style of disturbed.
LMAO poor little kids gettin scared of this video...i was one of them lol. this video is awesome...i never thought i'd see a day when someone would do a cover version of this...a good one at that. i like how you mix these two, also.
This video is so freakin' creepy....I have no words to describe it...

You're really not getting it dude...
This is the original video, with the remade song playing.
Read the description.
It "depicts the Cold War politics of the 80's" because it's a video from the 80's, not from 2008.

Album: Invisible Touch
Date: 1986

Interesting...the song actually goes well with the older video. Now let's see if we did the reverse...the original dubbed onto the DIsturbed video.

I actually like the cover of "Shout" but the orignal is always better. and this video is so werid. lol

Their version of "Shout" sucked so much ass! They actually pull off the Genesis remake.

the video doesn't really fit with the cover version, although this version of the song is pretty cool anyway.
