  • Now that's what I call a stag do!

  • dude that loos soooooo sweeeeeet

btw what's the song to go with this......really love it

  • @FallingthrougFire26 Hey dude it was amazing. The song is by a guy called Jon Foreman and the album is called Fall and Winter and the song is called White as snow. Really mellow. Looove it!!

  • I've climbed Nevis twice in the winter from the South face, camping on the summit overnight but after seeing this I want to try snowboarding down it too! Do you have any advice for the best route down or even a sketch or map?

    Thanks, Michael

  • @MichaelJSpraggon I don't know if I could advise you on the best route down as it depends very much on weather and snow conditions. I think there are quite a few routes that are possible. The route I took here basically goes from the summit down the red burn area which goes down by the tourist route. I saw somebody skiing down one of the gullys on the North face but Im not really experienced enough and don't know much about the gullys and avalanch risks to go down there!

  • @collyflower74 I see: follow the gentle ridge westwards and stay on it when the path crosses the burn to the north. I will make sure it's a clear day - navigating off the summit in white-out conditions was hard enough on foot! Thanks for your help. I'll make sure to post the video if and when I do it.

  • ah beautiful video man, hope your bro and you guys had an awesome champagne filled run :D i want to hit up nevis sometime still aint been unfortunately is it pretty easy drive?

  • @weestitch The champagne was good haha! The drive is a bit twisty and turny after Dalwhinnie. From Dundee it takes about 2.5 hours depending what the roads are like. This video was up Ben Nevis which is a mountain or 2 away from the Nevis Range which has some great backcountry too if the conditions are good! The Nevis range is great and worth the drive!

  • wicked cool whats the best time to hit the slopes there? is it better to go there or europe. im from england yorkshire.

  • @kyleisgay151 Now is the best time really although it can be great right until april although it can be really rubbish even in the middle of winter. Best check the conditions just before you head up the slopes. If your from Yorkshire then its to far for a day trip lol!! Best go to Europe (alps) for a week. Conditions are much more consistant, weather, better and runs longer. A lot of people that live within 1 hour from the Scottish slopes head off to Europe instead but I love it anywhere!!

  • @kyleisgay151

europe all the way i guess, better lift conditions, snow, pistes and more to go at (so i hear talking to many people that have skiid scotland). having said that i'd love to go to scotland to try it out, and over the next decade conditions there will only improve :)

  • @kyleisgay151 I looked into doing a weekend in Scotland recently and it works out pretty expensive, granted I'd have been travelling from Essex, for transport and board and most of the hotels or guest houses I found were still a drive from the slopes. I ended up paying an extra couple of hundred quid and doing a week in Andorra instead.

  • wicked cool whats the ebst time to hit the slopes there? is it better to go there or europe. im from england yorkshire.

  • whats was the song ?

  • @PKsmillie It by Jon Foreman and the song is called white as snow.

  • love your work man, that's my next mission. Me and my bro biked down this year! Was epic, we walked up overnight with the bikes, had a quick hot chocolate and then blasted down.....4 hours up, 1 hour down! Nice one

  • @PedPedderson Glad you liked the video man! That sound like a lot of fun staying up there overnight! Must have been a big hike up with bikes though! Its half the fun though. Its well worth it with a snowboard. Have fun if you do it!!

  • That looked fun, mega treck up though.

  • Yeah it was great but it really was a huge trek up there!!

  • Hey man. Fancy meeting you here. It's edalousel. I thought it was you after reading the description but had to wait until the end to be sure. That was epic. Looked to be a fantastic stag do for sure. One question. Did you board down with the Champagne and did it survive? :-))) I miss you guys. Think of you often. Much Luv and peace. Ed.
  • Edalousel!!!! How are you???

Well in answer to your question I seem to remember us all drinking the Champagne at the top and I gave the empty bottle to somebody to take down just in case I crashed and it got broken in my bag!! Come to think of it I dont even think it was Champagne. Just fizzy wine stuff!

Miss you to Ed. We should really meet up seeing as we live quite close by!! You still living near my brother?

    Colin

  • dude that is sick! how long did it take to ride down? i need to do that!

  • It didn't really take that long. Maybe 10 minutes or so of riding. It was a great day. Long hike though for a 10 minute ride!! Thats half the fun though.

  • Cracking movie. Absolute stunning stuff.

  • a miss there soooo much av not been there since 2006. can u tell me what the prices there are for a day ticket

  • Yeah its great up there when the conditions are right. You cant get a lift up Ben Nevis where this was filmed but you can buy a ticket at nearby Nevis range for £20-30 (not really sure) and late in the season I remember getting a ticket for about £8.

  • am gonna go up an have a day or 2 caus am from ediinburugh so its not too far away

  • Yeah its definatly worth the effort. A bit of a drive but if the conditions are right its a good place to go.

  • I'm from fort william was up boarding up nevis range at the week end and the conditions were superb soft powder all over the mountain n clear blue skies. Its 28 quid for a day ticket n 19 for half a day.

  • It goes up every year eh!! I haven't made it up yet this year even with all the snow!! Handy for you to live in Fort William. I love it there. Was it open down the Back Corries?

  • Who sing's this song?

I can only find it listed as an old church song with pathetic vocals.

  • Yeah its from the bible.. the words. Try and look for an artist called Jon Foreman. The album is called Autum and Winter. Jon also sings in a band called Switchfoot. Hope you enjoy :-)

  • whats the snow like there? I ride in euroupe and the UK indoor places alott but I've never been up to scotland, what month was this?

  • The snow can be a hit or a miss up hear as it can dump a lot and then get blown away by strong winds or thaw quickly even in mid season. This was March I think and was on another mountain from the nevis range ski centre. The runs up here are also a lot shorter than most of the European resorts but some of my best days have been up in Scotland (on the right days)

  • Its by Jon Foreman and the album is "fall and winter"

  • Sorry just realised that i accidentaly deleted the post that asked who the song is by... hence the answer to a question that appears not to have been asked!!!

  • did you go to the top?

  • Yup!! It was pretty tough with the board and boots on my back!! Worth while though!

  • how much training do you need to hike ben nevis?

Really want to do this as i live near :)

  • I didn't train at all but I keep myself fit! Lots of people make it up no bother as long as your not totaly unfit you wil be fine. There are two main ways up, The tourist route or the arete which is the way we went. Get somebody experienced with you and youll be fine.

  • are their guides there or do i have to locate one?

  • You might be able to get a guide but it will cost you! The best way is to ask around and hopefully somebody will know somebody to help you out. There are also hillwalking clubs which might be a good way to get up the hills. Where are you located? Are you intending on snowboarding down cause this is not the normal way down. Normally you just hike up, go wow, and then hike down.

  • I live just outside of aberdeen. Planning on hiking up and down but would love to snowboard (keen skateboarder atm)

Been told by a friend from work there is an easy way up and down. Think i will be capable!

  • Yeah you should manage the easy way up.If clouds come in you could get in trouble as its easy to get disoriented paricularly if there is snow up there. This is when you really need somebody with experience to make sure you dont get lost or even fall off the huge cliffs. There can be large snow cornices which can crumble beneath your feet if you get to close to the edge. I would advise going with somebody experienced. You will love it. can get guide books from a climbing shop to get the route.

  • Been advised to try ben a shee (i think thats how you spell it)!

On holiday start of next month so will definetly give that one a bash! :)

  • sounds like a great idea. I dont think I have been up there! Let me know how it goes and hopefuly you will enjoy it!

  • How long is a piece of String ???

  • Im going there December 19th cant wait :)

  • Great vid - have always meant to do the Ben.

  • Great little vid. I LOVE the music, what is it??

  • Thanks!! The music is a guy called Jon Foreman. The album is called fall and winter. He also sings in a band called switchfoot!

  • thats a great place to hit the slopes, went there when i was like 10
