Just wanted to remind everyone that on the tribute album "I Wanna Be Kate" there's a pretty amazing rap version of There Goes a Tenner. Sounds unpleasant, I know, but it's cool. Check it out.
On the small icon I though the man was John Cleese, sadly he wasn`t but still amazing song, video - and album. To me The Dreaming is her best piece of art so far
I'm wondering if the verse from 2:49 implies that Kate's character was once rich, in turn implying that she has had to turn to a life of crime. That would seem to explain the change in accents, as well as why she's so anxious.
@MrBillwulf Yes, that's a possible explanation ..... but the references to tenners and fivers and other notes could just be a personal memory, it sounds like the kind of thing her father might have said to the young Kate Bush on a country walk, and the timescale is about right. I wonder who the 'him' is they used to vote for? I would guess Harold Wilson! Ah, the dear dead days.
One of my favorites from "The dreaming" album!! I <3 this robbery theme in all of this!! No one but Kate could write a masterpiece like that!! I think she is the only artist that doesn't write songs about sex, dancing and having fun all the time!! She can write grown-up stuff with great taste not like all the other so-called songwriting popstars!!
The way she presents it is quite insightful in a way.. I think this is one of her best tracks, un-conventional and imaginative. Sexy, weird, and beautiful. New album tomorrow!!! :)

How does someone insightful enough to write "Love and Anger" write a silly ditty like this? I guess we all need some frivolity, but not a song that I'd waste my time on again.
@BigBrauner Are you kidding me? This is Kate doing what she does best: Spotless musical production, originality, and theatrical quirk. The "Dreaming" album in general is so incredibly layered. "Sensual World" pales in comparison IMO.
@knicks9899 Think of it as the get away car. I was under the impression these ads were imposed by You Tube rather than the person who posted the video? So does Kate get paid, for the ad or You Tube? Anyway, she's one of the few artists on You Tube who doesn't pull her material, so if she wants to advertise it's fine by me. I'd only wish for products that are sustainable rather than SUVs etc.
Fascinatingly primitive video for a song that should have been a hit - I've always thought it Kate's response to disco.
On another level, it is a song they should play in videos of the Weimar, Hungarian and Zimbabwean hyperinflations - at least the last verse which seems to be an attack on government money creation (with which I am very familiar myself).
Just put the headphones on and listen to "The Dreaming" from beginning to end. "Pull Out the Pin" and "Leave It Open" are my favorite songs off of there, wish she had made videos for those.
I like heist movies. Maybe Kate should've been in "Entrapment" instead of Catherine Zeta Jones?
Kate Bush is the best British female artist-a true pioneer...but I never understood the words for this song
Who is a tenner?

@UltimateMarioulis Actually she has written about sex but she does in a very sophisticated, intelligent, erotic, and captive way.

What is it about these 'official' videos that has them clip the very first half-second of the beat?

Probably my favorite KB video. I always love this song and its enigmatic final lines, and think the video is a perfect match.

Only Kate Bush could write a song about a bank robbery.

Kate Bush will still be considered ahead of her time in 2215. The Dreaming will be one of three things the Aliens put in their safe deposit box.

She was very original, but she has/had a vocal influence at least:
the great Asha Puthli

Thanks for your interest. I don't want to sound like a self-promoter,
I'd love to ask you if you had a look at my AP video playlist.
There are some good proofs of their likeness
(particularly in Kate's first musical period).
To be honest, I don't know "Finding bliss": is it a Bush or Puthli song ?
Now it's your time to teach me something :)

WTF, Kate? I have to watch an SUV ad before enjoying your music now?

Was lucky enough to be there when Kate filmed this and met her afterwards and she signed one of the tenners for me.
After a long day filming she still had time for a fan :-)
