  • 1:20

    this weifle XD

  • should i get the .22 or .25 caliber version of this rifle? i will be using it for hunting dove, rabbits, and squirrel. help please!!

  • I would love to see a review about the 177

Since this is a Nitro Piston, leaving it cocked wont matter at all? Not that im planning to do so but what if it would be cocked for over a day?

Due to the power of this rifle, how about light grain pellets? Lets say the 7,56 in a .177 version... Wont it dammage the piston?

Just to make sure... Im talking about the 1500

  • @noodle050

Yes, you can leave a nitro piston rifle cocked, and there should not be an issue shooting the 7.56 light pellets from it, although we don't see a practical need for it (at 1500 fps you will be shooting supersonic, and with light pellets it will be loud and inaccurate). You want to slow your .177 air rifle down to 900fps or less.

    Thank you,

  • how is the recoil on this is it bigger than a real 22.?

  • @MrSpriggs1234

The recoil in air rifles is very different from firearms, and most of the time is negligent comparing to those.

  • No guns are showing up on your website.

  • @BENJItrailNPxL1100

You happened to be on the right site at the wrong time. :) We were just having a temporary technical error. As you will see, all of the guns are back up and ready to be admired!

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience!

  • @pyramydair Its quite alright, I just was letting you know, in case you hadnt caught it for some odd reason.

Keep up the good work please.

  • never having used a .25 cal before I wonder about trajectory. 177. seems to shoot very flat, even when compared to a similar velocity .22. Which led me to the .20 cal in my silver streak, it remains the best of both worlds inside of 30 yards for target shooting. Muzzle energy sounds impressive but reliably putting that power on target for humane kills is what counts. For me most shots on wary crows are rarely inside of 40 yards, is this gun up to that challenge?

  • @theplaid1

Using this particular gun in .25 at 40 yards may prove to be challenging for a shooter, although the gun is capable of doing it, we would recommend it in .22 at this distance.

    Thank you,

  • @pyramydair i am needing advice on the air rifle i should get i am looking for one that i can comfortably hunt squirrels rabbits and birds at around 30 yards. my budget is $200 and if a remanufactured air rifle will work that will be fine. i have heard a lot about the gamo big cat 1250 or 1200. also i dont want a c02 or a pcp or whatever it is i would like a pump. thank you for your videos.

  • @bays1001

Sorry for the delay with response. You can go with 1250/1200 in .22 caliber at 30 yards for small game is OK.

    Thank you,

    Pyramyd Air Team

  • @bays1001 i would also look at a Beeman Elkhorn or a Tech Force 89. they have better triggers than Crosmans or Gamos. do you want a synthetic or wood stock?

  • I own a XL725 & other air rifles. I am surprised Paul only got 24 lbs out of the rifle. I have not tried the Barracudas, but H&N Ram Points and Field Target Trophy do not work for me with this gun.. Benjamin Domed work like they were made for this gun...The trigger is not the best. Accuracy is o.k. I believe I am getting close to the 30 foot pounds of energy on the box. Benjamin Domed go clean through the first 2 by 4 and digs way into the one behind it. Good to 50 yrd w/o Hold Over.

  • With an aftermarket trigger this rifle is an accrurate, hard hitting serious hunter and you don't have to pump it up or lug around an expensive air tank. I'll take a Whopper with cheese over filet mignon any day, Just wish that Crosman/Benjamin/Remington would put the same front hanging sling mount on all of their break barrels. It really comes in handy when you're out in the field.

Saw some snow there in the background. The Catskills are beautiful in winter.

  • Your not going to find those cal. pellets at Walley World :(

  • This gun is like cotton candy looks like alot but once you u get it there isnt much to it, I looked an shot this gun bfor gettting the Benjamin Trail NP AW, also watch countless reviews about it in the 25 cal. Just watch Rick eustlers review on this gun for one. If you want a decent 25 cal Get the Benjamin Maurader..... Thats knock down power there, or the Walthers 25 cal....But very Happy with my NP AW in 22 cal Quarter size groups at 45 yds......

  • Pyramyd Guys ,I agree with others ,accuracy is everything,I`ve used a 0.22 version of this rifle ;it looked great , but had a truly horrible trigger,it just wouldn`t group cosistantly!.Many people have multiple Gamos,Benjis and the like in their gun cupboards. The money they spent/wasted (and I`m guilltyin the past of doing this too!) on inferier products ,could have gotten them one or two really good rifles.I`m down from 6 rifles to only 2; a TX200h.c. and a Weihrauch HW80.

    regards

    Kenny

  • I am going to add a trail xp into my locker. I am planning on using it in my disaster prep. gear, as that I do not have to worry about a high powered air supply & parts avail. locally. Since I already have .22 cal. already, I am probably going to stay with this cal..

  • Hi Paul & Happy New Year 2012....!!! I'm glad you make a review in this rifle, I was about to purchase from Pyramyd Air this rifle in .22 Cal but instead I purchased the Benji Trail NP Hardwood. Horrible experience, I was not able to group a 10 yards, terrible rifle, lots of problems, I was forced to return the rifle, well I heard a lot of good things about this rifle but terrible ones as well. In your expert opinion, Do you really think this rifle is a good idea?,

....what would be the max ra

  • 23ft//lb is not massive mate from a break barrel! Try a Theoben Evolution a quality British Rifle quality groups as well as design!

  • YYYYYYYYEEEEAAAAA, i see hammmerli pneumas in the left backround :)

  • Thanks for that about the Webley .25. Great informative videos. Cheers.

  • I would take the .22 over this anyday. The .22 has a flatter trajectory, barely 1 less fpe than the .25, pellets are much cheaper, and the velocity in .22 is much better. A .25 cal pellet at 580 fps will drop like a rock at 30 yards +

  • I live in the Netherlands and my .22 broke 3 times, after that I bought a wonderful Air Arms s410

  • @pyramydair plz review the falcon hunter in .25 with standerd spring

  • Hmm. lots of power is great as long as it's accompanied by accuracy, but with such low velocity and loopy trajectory, the shooter had best be sure about correct holdover! An air rifle in .22 putting out the same energy is shooting 800+ fps with a 14.3 grain pellet and is a better overall choice I think, due to a more predictable trajectory.

  • @AirGuns4Fun

This air rifle in .22 is less powerful than this air rifle in .25 calibers. .25 caliber pellets are heavier and deliver more energy with the 500-600 fps. Use our muzzle energy calculator on the product page to compare the muzzle energies of both calibers.

    Thank you,

    Pyramyd Air Team

  • @pyramydair With due respect, please watch Rick Eutsler's Pyramyd-sponsored test of this gun in .22 - it produces more than 25 ft/lbs! Due to the higher velocity, .22 will have a much flatter trajectory also. Spring guns are just not well-suited to heavier pellets. Sure they'll produce a larger wound channel on live game but otherwise .22 is the better choice for this gun. .25 is better suited to PCP, like the excellent Marauder. Keep Paul's videos coming!

  • It's terribly under-powered!!! You can buy the same gun in 22 and it has MORE fpe and weighs LESS. Go figure!?! If it was any heavier, it would need a factory bipod. Crosman/Bejamin should consider upping the power on this one to compete with the other 25's. I'd take the 22 any day.

  • im trying to find a good hunting air rifle. for under $200 what do you recommed

  • @slingtotheshot crosman nitro venom .22 cal is good...

  • @slingtotheshot

Try using our Airgun Guide and then filter by price. There are a few good guides.

    Thank you,

    Pyramyd Air Team

  • @slingtotheshot Stogers X20.... or save an extra 50 an goto Gander Mt.. an get the NP AW. .22 cal.

  • Have u guys tested any other trail np series? Thanks

  • Thanks Paul. Would love to see a review on the .25 Webley Patriot which is similar and also a springer.

  • @redrocco44

A good Webley Ptriot in .25 Cal in stock form will do close to 30 fpe, I had one fully stock and it did around 695 fps with Jsb 25.4 kings. It was one hell or a good shooter with open sight and with a scope it was one great rifle for shooting fur bearers. The Webley partiot is king in my book as a magnum springer and one hell of a hunting rifleI .

  • Brilliant again Paul

    ATB Malc

  • I have the XL 1100 .22, great guns!

  • i love to shoot airguns but they cost so much.

  • @slingtotheshot The Benjamin npxl .22 caliber is a very nice air rifle i just bought one at walmart for 150 dollars so this is a cheap and amazing gun. The first few days i had it i killed a rabbit and a squirrel.
