Thanks statusquocom!Great times and great music. The kids in the crowd playing air guitar are better than most of today's musicians.if thats what you want to call them.God bless the Englsh!
It´s not subtle and not something that will ever be included along with the Brandenburg Concertos on the Voyager space ships to greet new civilications, but it´s fun though.
This was also the Swan song for this band as far as being a rock band goes. They became soft after Alan Lancaster left the band.
I was there too - holding up one end of the Blackcpool Lads Say Ta Banner for some people we hadn't ever met b4! I was 18....heady days and 3+ hours of headbanging was tough even then...
Diamond times no doubt about it..we were near that banner!..i had a stiff neck for about 3 days afterwards..great stuff..still watch em live now as well..cant keep up the headbanging as much as i used to though!
I couldn't my neck either...I still go too, at least once a year and they still can play a brilliant live set. The audience all a bit static now - not many of us headbangers left :)
What a day that was..5 of us in crappy old austin allegro, pissed on cider, made our way there singing Caroline...was only 17 at the time but it feels like yesterday..always been a fan of the 70s and early 80s stuff so now watching this makes me realise it was the end of an era if you like.Memorable day, fantastic gig from a legendary band.
We went in a souped up Morris Marina van - quality! Brilliant day - the driver was nearly KO'd by one of the bottles during Jason & The Scorchers set :) We did laugh. Good times indeed
i agree, but maybe they had no choice (the sound of what the 'cool kids' liked had changed, so record companies only want stuff that would sell).
agree that they were never the same once AL and JC left, although since under the influence they have got a lot better - in search of the fourth chord and heavy traffic are very good albums.
stev50 it was fashionable to slag off the quo back in the mid seventies. ROCK ON YOU QUO..... Nothing changes. I stll got my dog of two head denium cut off... hangs nice next to the mrs wedding dress. something for the grandchildren !!
4 all u people banging on about the old days, i'll say one thing... im 19 years old and i think im prob the biggest quo fan ever, i never saw the original line up and never will so be greatful u got it!
Together with 4500 Times these are two of Quo's finest ever rock tracks. This gig was phenomenal. Nothing compared to it after the split. They were never the same band again.
We should all remember this at a time that Status Quo were a hard rock band that could knock anyone off stage. It is one of the music world's biggest disappointments that they went soft. They should have stuck with what they were good at.
Recorded at The Milton Keynes Bowl in 1984. I was there and Quo were onstage for nearly 3 hours. Still one of the best gigs I've ever seen. Utterly awesome!

@Cpttoxic The same here, but without the headset. My only neighbour is a bit deaf, but I'm pretty sure she can feel the beat.
