It sure is. It's best to start you day with a green smoothie. Drink as much as you want. I have to warn you though, you're not going to want to eat, because these smoothies will fill you up.

to pisces247, I also gain weight on a raw food diet because I am insulin resistant, Now I am about to try the PH miracle diet, where you avoid acid food and eat alkaline food. People lose from half a pound to a pound of fat per day on this diet. You also have to exercice on a rebounder to flush toxin out. But check the Robert Young book for details cause some sites are eroneous about the acid/alkaline food list.

Well i must say your a positive role model for the person that you are, and what you have been through. It takes courage to put yourself out like that, be as honest as possible and stay positive. I myself am no raw foodist as YET, but i plan to become one in the future (I am only 16 years old, still living with my parents).

Can anyone reply to my comment here or email me and tell me what I can substitute for bannanas in my green smoothie? The bannans give it a nice sweet taste and creamy consistancy-however, I have found bannanas give me heartburn. Any advice?
I use spinach, an apple or two, along with agave nectar or honey for sweetness. You may want to try using mango or a little avocado to give it that texture.
Honey is the best if you want something healthy and a sweet taste. Honey is a blessing to humans it has antibacterial qualities, you can use on skin as a moisturizer (wash off), and put on cuts, heals sore throat...and has many other benefits! Organic honey is the best (all natural and has a better taste than processed)
Great first video to kick off the raw food diet! I became vegetarian about 4 or 5 months ago and decided to go raw (and practically vegan) last week. I do feel pretty tired, but I except that to go away within the next week. The reactions are funny, "You only eat veggies? You eat fruit?!" I always think, "Yeah, what could be better for our bodies? This is what humans have eaten for thousands of years. We evolved by eating raw food!" I'm subscribing and look forward to watching your vids. :O
I know, it's funny how we've learn to think about foods. I look at people sometimes along with myself and how we regard food. I see people everyday at lunch time and they have no idea what the foods they're eating are doing to them. I wish you continued success in your quest to be a "raw foodie". great video...and the most interesting aspect is after consuming raw foods for a period of time, the desire of sugary processed foods and meats are almost gone..at least that is how I feel. :0)
You're absolutely right. In fact, the processed sugary stuff actually makes you nauseous. It's amazing how the body reacts so differently to what we eat and how we react to foods when we've learned the proper way of eating.
It's amazing how after a certain about of time, we've formed habits which have put us (as a country) in such a rut...I'm thankful to you and others who are encouraging raw diets and being honest about the ups and downs...I'm so happy about that!
I'm happy that more people are adapting to this way of eating and are realizing that there has to be something different. I'm also happy that I can play a part in helping others improve their lives through mine.

I am so glad to hear that you're drinking the smoothies. See, you were already doing the right thing! Trust me, eating raw will release you of those cravings. You might still deal with the mental ones, but you won't crave physically. Don't worry about the camera. All that matters is you changing your body and improving your health.
As long as you're raw in some way is all that matters. We don't focus on the negative. I use Windows Movie Maker and Photostory 3. The background effects were done with Adobe.

Raw food seems like the only cure to me as well... therefore i am very VERY excited for my future with raw food!!
You should think about picking up a copy of her book. She also has DVDS. (Book sells for about $50).

The bananas you're using are probably too ripe. Try getting your bananas on the greener, less ripe side and that should eliminate heartburn.
