Ibanez Art 100 Guitar

I just bought the same model with a different finish. One thing I noticed about it is that my toggle switch doesn't have a tiny black knob, just a silver threaded piece. I'm going to go back to my guitar shop and see if he's got any spares laying around.

It doesn't affect anything, it just bothers me now that I noticed it.

the neck is very fat, took me by suprise when I first started playing it but you get used to it. Not having the dots on the face of the fret board also makes it a little more difficult but after a few hours you can get it.

to answer your first question the amp I use for this guitar is a Fender G-DEC 30. Its just a practice amp but its the best practice amp money can buy because of all the features. For your second question I have no problem with the size of the frets. The only thing is that the ART does not have the dots along the face of the fret board which takes a little getting used to but you get the hang of it. Also the neck is slightly wider than most guitars so it helps if you have big hands to play.

I would say it is pretty close between the ART and the RG series, the RG series might be a tad faster tho but like I said it would be very close.

my mate just got an art100 a few months back to learn on and i love the way it feels and sounds, only thing i don't like is the plastic strips that border the fretboard, on the on i played it made fast clean tapping a bit harder than on a guitar with a full rosewood faced fretboard because the plastic was not 100% flush, luckily I have another friend that machines necks and i do computer work for him so he offered to fix mine if it has the problem my friends did. Insane for the price.

i own one of these, mine's the transparent cherry finish. great guitar. Mahogany body and set neck for only $300. Still amazed. Ususally have to pay $500 minimum for features like that. you can really dig into it and beat the strings when you play. the gibraltar 3 bridge can take it. and the tuners are solid. pickups are the only thing i'll replace.

oddly enough I had a squier also before I got this guitar and man I'm not lookin back. This was the BEST purchase I have ever made and I'm so happy with this guitar. It sounds amazing, looks awesome and is just what you need man. I couldn't be happier so I totally recomend it for you

the art is very smooth and your fingers can just fly on this guitar its great, the art has great action and a pretty thick neck. It took me a couple weeks to get used to it at first but its great. I love it. But considering what your looking for, the art would be good but I'm thinking the RG370DX would be for more of what you want. Thinner neck, shreds amazingly and I can't remember the action really but for you propsforprops I'm feelin the RG37DX is your best bet man.

The only problem is the first fret on the E String Buzzes. When I asked the guy at the store about it, he told me to givie it some time to adjust.

Ive had my ibanez ART for about half a year now, and on the good side, I can say that you get some really nice sounds out of it, but it sucks if you wanna play lighter stuff, but on the bad side, they seem really bad quality, if any1 reading this is thinking about buying this guitar, I would suggest either not buying it, or buying it and doing it up abit (e.g. the nut is terrible)

mxguitarman, my mom bought me Jim Dunlop Formula 65 clearner (not the kit, just the cleaner, w/ cloth), and This thing rocks. I only trust dunlop,planey waves,and d'addario things for my guitar, and trust me, your guitar will look better than new if you spray it allover your guitar (just dont spray the pickups/humbuckers!!!and dont waste it!).
