So, now that I corrected the assumptions people made about this classic song (like that "the Beatles wrote this song" and that "this was originally a Beatles song," etc.) I can say that you did a great cover of a great cover!

When Def Leppard released their cover of this classic as a single, I was shocked!

Badfinger was the first rock band on the Beatles Apple label. The Beatles wrote "Come and get it" and "No matter what" for Badfinger and both songs were giant hits for the band.

Yes it would have been great to hear a Beatles version of this song, but the rights were given to Badfinger and so both are right. This song belongs to the Beatles and to Badfinger, but Badfinger doesn't suck. LOL. They are actually very talented especially if the Beatles signed them on.

The Beatles had nothing to do with the writing of this song. In fact, on a CD of Pete Ham's demos, which was released sometime in the 90's, there's an early version of this song with just Ham's voice and one acoustic rhythm guitar. As I already said, the Beatles did NOT have anything to do with writing this song.

fuzzygreenballs: gatogirlie is right--"No Matter What" is a Badfinger song. It was written by Pete Ham, who was also one of the co-writers (along with Tom evans) of the song "Without You," which wasn't made famous by Badfinger and, instead, made famous by Harry Nilsson.

Anyway, "No Matter What" is a Badfinger song--not a Beatles song. The only association the Beatles had to "No Matter What" is that Badfinger was signed to Apple Records when this song was released.

Hey, cover of a cover or not he is still playing the cover of Def leppard the way THEY did it.....and he did it GREAT!! Who wantss to argue the tid bits other than someone that can't play maybe?
