Plus that million isn't going to buy anything when everyone works for the gov.

I'm a Democrat who disagrees with you . I totally support a draft for all young men to serve 2 years in the military. It would take inner city gang members off the street & give them a chance at a real life. Also give the rich & famous boys a look at the real world . I volunteered in 1975 and have nothing but good memories and was proud to serve my country !!!

Because both Alabamans and Californians are Americans, and Americans believe that certain rights are guaranteed to them under the United States Constitution, including religious freedom, which is violated whenever a state says that religious denominations cannot marry same-sex couples if they want to.
Well right now it appears that the reasonable people are in the minority. California allowed same sex marriage for about a month which was quickly overturned thanks to pressure from the federal government. If this were purely a state issue, then at least California would get it right. This gets a lot more worrisome with the thought that I may now be in the minority as someone who favors liberty over security.

the war ended in May 1975 and i graduated high school in June 1975. Sorry but I had no control over when the war ended , lol . I was enlisting either way because I believe we have a duty to our way of life to serve it !

Well, I hate to say it, but supporting the draft these days can make you look like you support the wars that are occurring. Anyway, I hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but I am very intrigued on how we can't find this guy. With all of the surveillance technology we have we can't find him. I mean you could literally take photos of the landscape, and feed them through a computer and look for subtle differences, such as an overturned rock. However, this "ghost" is still out there.

RBLA818: I'm not sure what your post is about; however, Rich kids had low draft numbers and if they were drafted they went to, lets say, the national guard and did not have to report to duty. Cheney, got out by having a bunch of kids but my father was drafted even after having four kids. No Draft=Less War

And might I add, that more than half of Americans do not want the war in Iraq to continue, however it's still going on. The most efficient way to prevent unnecessary wars is to limit power hungry governments resources. I dont think there is a doubt in anybody's mind that if Bush had enough "Boots on the Ground" (as Mike gravel would say), he would invade Iran.

The reason we are in the mess that we are is because so few people Vote or get active with issues! Only about 25% of the eligible voters vote!!!!!!!!
If their kids are going to be drafted, they will do more than just say they are against the war! They will become actively involved, and Vote a hell of a lot more!!

Many members of my family went in to the service but it was a choice and it was not forced. I believe that not having the Draft saved many lives. Many of the social programs have been exploited and perverted. Now social spending goes directly into the coffers of multinationals. If we restore power to the states, each state can make its own decisions and have the freedom to fund what they choose. Programs that perform well can act as models for other states. The federal government should be reserved to ensure the rights of the individual and add transparency to other branches.

Because both Alabamans and Californians are Americans, and Americans believe that certain rights are guaranteed to them under the United States Constitution, including religious freedom, which is violated whenever a state says that religious denominations cannot marry same-sex couples if they want to.

Well right now it appears that the reasonable people are in the minority. California allowed same sex marriage for about a month which was quickly overturned thanks to pressure from the federal government. If this were purely a state issue, then at least California would get it right. This gets a lot more worrisome with the thought that I may now be in the minority as someone who favors liberty over security.
