  • I'm considering one of these chargers instead of buying extra batteries for my camcorder and phone, you mentioned laptops, but what about a tablet computer? Sounds like this would be a lot more versatile than extra batteries. Thank you.

  • @muddog1561 The BOLT is a great option for keeping your phone and camcorder charged versus buying extra batteries! Since the BOLT can be charged via the wall or sun, you'll have two options..greener options at that...to keep your devices juiced up :) The BOLT will boost most tablets such as the iPad and Samsung Galaxy, usually giving them about 30% extra power on a full charge. However, the BOLT can not charge a laptop, they need way more power than our little charger can provide.

  • This is very interesting, but its too expensive to suit my needs. I would like to be able to attach it to my motorcycle some how and leave it to charge while I'm at work. I'm assuming it isn't waterproof and at $60-$80 I'd be far too concerned about theft. I'd be much more comfortable going with one of the devices in the $20 range.

  • @razorbackblood06 I'm sorry to hear that the BOLT is too expensive. I do agree, $70 is a chunk of change, but do be careful of less expensive solar chargers. Most of those chargers don't regulate their output and are known to fry devices. While the BOLT may not be the right fit, if you want to go to solar charging route, we would definitely recommend making sure the one you go with has an internal battery and can regulate it's output...we've heard way too many horror stories!

  • @razorbackblood06 You are correct, the BOLT is water resistant, but not water proof. If you are looking to keep a solar charger attached on your motorcycle (cool idea by the way!!) I believe there are a few brands out there that make a water proof model, but again, they will probably be in the same price range or even more expensive than the BOLT. Please share with us what you decide to go with, we love the feedback :)

  • When fully charged, how many times in one day, can the "

Bolt" fully charge my HTC EVO in a 24-hr. period? (roughly)

I'm trying to decide wether to get the "Bolt" or the bigger battery-cover. ........appreciate any feedback.

  • @Bizone72 To fully charge the Solio BOLT's battery, it does take 8-10 hours of sun, or 4.5 hours plugged into the wall/USB port of your computer. Once you have a full charge on the BOLT, you will be able to get nearly two complete charges on your HTC EVO. If you are looking for a battery pack for your EVO, the BOLT is where it is at! The BOLT is essentially like any other battery pack on the market, it just has the added benefit of solar charging in case you are away from the grid :)

  • How many watts are the solar panels?!?

  • 1:26 Is that AC-to-USB adapter included with the Bolt or a purchasable accessory?

Also, with the new manual on/off function, I'm concerned about accidental activation while in a backpack or luggage. How much pressure does the switch require to operate?

  • @nullburger Yep, the BOLT comes with the USB charging cable shown in the video :) This works to charge the BOLT via a USB port. If you wish to charge the BOLT via the wall, you will need to have a USB wall adapter, like the one that comes with the Apple iPhone or iPod. Any generic USB wall charger will do the trick though!

  • The on/off button is easy to press, so I understand your concern about accidentally turning the BOLT on while in your pack. No worries though, if the button is accidentally pressed but the BOLT isn't connected to anything, the LED button will flash... but you will be loosing practically no charge on the BOLT at all. The BOLT only transfers power when it's connected to a device. It would take several days with the BOLT accidentally on before you would notice any battery loss.

  • ok i bought one, i hope the shipping have no problems with Germany. Pakets from the US make often customs problems.

  • It's too expensive and it take long time to charge when powered by Theus Sun. This is a chinese producete and it would cost less of 20 usd.

  • nice, need it more or less time then the classic for 100%?

  • @DasWtfTeam About the same, 8-10 hours. The battery is bigger in the Bolt (2,000mAh) versus the Classic (1650mAh), but the Bolt also has larger, higher efficiency solar panels. That is how we were able to achieve the same charge rate for both models while increasing the capacity :)

  • @SolioBetterEnergy well that´s nice : )

  • looking forward to reviewing the Bolt. it has many improvements over the classic
