Guys to be honest Bose speakers are better than half of your piece of shit home theater in a box dvd/blue ray 5.1/7.1 systems. The only thing negative about Bose is that they are overpriced. Yes there are better deals out there but they are much better sounding than a substantial amount of speakers. So enough with the my speakers are better blah blah, I have the flagship Polk LSi series speakers which I love em but someone out there got a better deal on speakers that RAPE mine, endless circles..

regardless of your camera's microphone ability to record without distortion, playing that music at that volume is destroying those woofers. The warping of the woofers is clearly visible, and that amount of excursion will ruin the surround material and voice coil over time. Being a BOSE (Better Off Somewhere Else) it's paper cone woofer and foam surround are more susceptible to damage playing that dreadful song versus drivers made from sturdier materials.

@SubMasterT I think they are somewhere around 7s... And no, they didn't distort on this video... my camera is just really cheap, and even somebody talking just a little bit too loud will distort. But they do distort on the type of bass that punches hard and fast, not like this song. :)

I too have played this song on these speakers and this is a great song on these speakers. i would install a 1.5 Amp fast blow Buss type fuse, I recommend Especially for 8" woofers that can handle 75 watts RMS per speaker. not wanting to fuel your argument, but I thought I'd just say, his Jamo Compacts are probably very good, as I have the model below and they are lovely. As for his big Jamos, I have the D266 which are just a revised model without a horn. They are very good considering the price, and I would not call them junk. Yes they have very small magnets, but the cab space helps them sound nice, albeit not as nice as 301s. I think 245thegreat would most benefit by powering his Jamos with an integrated amp...
I actually bought mine from a place in Centralia, WA that sells vintage stereos like this, for only $50 and no I don't have the manual... I wish I had it though...
you are actually right about the new Bose sound systems... they suck balls. but the reason why I uploaded this is to show people who completely hate Bose's new products, that Bose used to be good. this is the only Bose speaker that I have actually liked the sound quality. I have much better speakers, but its still pretty good.

Well speakers when moving a ridiculously large length, they have the inability to stop quick enough to keep precisely in time with the music. This is why you see loads of drivers in a very expensive cinema set-up. Because they all work together to produce the correct sound pressure at the volume needed.
As for my set up, I have some B&W 685s and no sub as I really don't see the need in spending so much of my disposable income on something which won't make a huge difference to my 685s.
Actually, the best sub ever reviewed, the JL Audio Fathom, has 3+ inches of excursion, and is extremely quick. The price on the Fathoms range from $2200-$3600 (models include a 10 in., a 12 in., and a 13 in.), and they compete with subs costing much, much more. I've heard the 13 and the 10, and I tell you, when there's a huge bass note, the 13 creates a feeling that's unexplainable. It gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.

I had an orphaned speaker similar to the Bose 301 II's you have there. I took the speaker out into the backyard and shot pucks at it until it was destroyed (which didn't take long).
i just bought a pair of Bose 301 for my adcom gfa-555 200 watt per channel amp. you better be careful how you turn up the volume you will blow the shit out of them. that's no way to treat Bose 301 just plain sad my friend ...

I actually understand why it sounds like that, the microphone diaphragm is not made to produce those frequencies so it distorts, its just like a windy day with a digital camera.

not wanting to fuel your argument, but I thought I'd just say, his Jamo Compacts are probably very good, as I have the model below and they are lovely. As for his big Jamos, I have the D266 which are just a revised model without a horn. They are very good considering the price, and I would not call them junk. Yes they have very small magnets, but the cab space helps them sound nice, albeit not as nice as 301s. I think 245thegreat would most benefit by powering his Jamos with an integrated amp...

you are actually right about the new Bose sound systems... they suck balls. but the reason why I uploaded this is to show people who completely hate Bose's new products, that Bose used to be good. this is the only Bose speaker that I have actually liked the sound quality. I have much better speakers, but its still pretty good.

Well speakers when moving a ridiculously large length, they have the inability to stop quick enough to keep precisely in time with the music. This is why you see loads of drivers in a very expensive cinema set-up. Because they all work together to produce the correct sound pressure at the volume needed.
As for my set up, I have some B&W 685s and no sub as I really don't see the need in spending so much of my disposable income on something which won't make a huge difference to my 685s.

The price on the Fathoms range from $2200-$3600 (models include a 10 in., a 12 in., and a 13 in.), and they compete with subs costing much, much more. I've heard the 13 and the 10, and I tell you, when there's a huge bass note, the 13 creates a feeling that's unexplainable. It gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.

Your Technics SA-500 receiver is 55 Watts per channel. The labeled "320 Watts" is only the power consumption used to run it.
