This is intense, firstly because The Scatman had one hell of a time in Japan and they along with him and also because the theme to this program was written by Tak Matsumoto!
I wonder why he lip syncs the chorus of "im a scatman" but sings almost everything else live. maybe cause thats his most popular song. very cool stuff
I love how these famous pop idols are all so dolled up and fancy and flashy, but Scatman doesn't need any of that shit. He's got class, and that's all he needed.
@elgatochurro Yeah I too love scat man dude.... I am just saying japs (short for japanise) are really Susceptible into liking strange and weird music or art!!!!
Look at them they dont undersatand what he says yet they are extatic about him!!!!
I've read that Scatman John was extremely popular in Japan. And by the way, I LOL'd when SPEED and V6 came up to dance while he was doing "Everybody Jam". I kind of feel bad for the cameraman who had to manuever his way through that craziness.
@merdekaataumati1949 Lot of people in European non-English speaking countries don't understand good English also, but lot of the music sung in English language, whether from Germany as Scatman or others from the UK were/are well received. And that's not because of the lyrics but because people normally tend to appreciate music for the combination of its melody and vocal delivery.
omg it's every little thing and speed! 1:24 - 1:29 the celebrity on the far right is so nervous he can barely get down the steps, lol but the best part was scatman, he entertained unscripted! and he was like a role model
WOW! america couldn't do something like this cuz they have too many egos, there isn't ONE show in usa that this many established artists stand next to each other and interact
Great performance! And he looked so happy at the end, when they asked him if he liked the program! Made me smile ;)
Talking about something different, when the "P&G" ad appeared I felt like watching an anime hahahaha, they say always the same thing "kono ho sowa (brand) coresponsaro ne okerishimas" (I just wrote what I hear 'cause I don't speak any japanese)
@Gikanks556 look at what MOST of today's artist have you hear what they promote in their music? unlike them Scatman does promote real life problems (or at least i think) some of the today's artist promote drugs, alcohol use, and other illegal stuff, but scatman promoted peace, prosperity and other thing which i forgot and he was highly loved in japan and other countries then if you can prove me wrong in this comment then i'll take this and ONLY this comment back.
yes, especially since its for bettering of societies around the world rather than just about how good you are or some random crap people threw together

Almost all Japanese can not understand English.
そのため、スキャットマンジョンのメッセージは、日本人には理解されていない。
It means Scatman John's message is not understood by Japanese.
「どもり」に対する彼のメッセージを理解した時、みんな驚くだろう。
Japanese will be suprised when they understand his message to STUTTERING.
