To be honest, I'm not sure which came first, but this is VERY similar to HALO:Reach. Not including the Armour but, I think this is HALO, x10 Better. I like halo, so if I buy Mass Effect 2....what I just pointed out is going to be EPIC.

Easily the best game of 2010. Nothing could compete in terms of story, characters, music, graphics, gameplay, scope, or anything else.

I'll just come out and say it that I personally don't think this has been a good year for video games, a lot of disappointments this year but this and Red Dead stand out as masterpieces.

Mass Effect is more than a game it's an interactive cinematic. A whole new genre of game, your decisions MATTER. YOU become emotionally involved, it's revolutionary.. it's epic.. it's as i told you before, the best game series of all time. ;-)

@TeddyNutts best game series of all time? no way. im not saying RDR is, but it's a great game, sure. but i can't believe you can't say the same things you just mentioned for ME for RDR. it's just as cinematic, if not more than mass effect. the genre of westerns in general began as movies, and the setpieces RDR are ridiculously massive and immersive. you may not be in a giant space station trying to stop the collectors, but it's just as engaging and emotionally satisfying, especially at the end.

Funny thing about sequels is in films they are usually worse but in games usually better.

With films, the entire production team can be changed, meaning you've got a few hundred people who have no experience with the project suddenly in charge of it while everyone with experience is working on something else. Some exceptions include Bioshock 2, which was done by a different studio than the first, and the new Star Wars trilogy.
