No this eruption was inside the main volcano crater, but as the bottom is compact lava it find a way to pass on the side. It's not rare to have also eruption out off this crater, but always in the perimeter of it so it's not dangerous. Since 1998 50% of eruption where out off the main crater call Dolomieu (2522m), in 2007 it was near the sea side at only 500m of Hight!
