I SO remember that Juicy Fruit commercial. A comedy duo named Red Johnny and the Round Guy made fun of that song in their routine. I can still hear that song in my head to this day!
lol back when ronald used to make appearences on tv lol anyone remember the halloween tapes ronald used to do and they would come with a happy meal? i miss those times nowadays its all video games and handheld games back when i was a kid it was gameboy or gamegear and you liked it!
Chuck E. Cheese was amazing in the early 80's. In the darkness wandering around a maze of video games. There's just nothing like the sound of over a hundered games all going at once. Arcades were the best fad of my life time.... and Chuck E's was the best.
As we get older, some of these commercials seem a bit "tacky", but I would give anything to be able to go back to those days, and do things differently. Life sucks because we don't realize what we had until that time passes. Why are we made to be so stubborn as a child, only to regret not being appreciative, and hold our childhood special?

bullshit ....just look at the way that freak girl splits her pizza in half ..just look at her..LOOK AT HER!
Thats wacked ..if I was alive in that era you couldnt pay me enough to go in that place..I like my birthdays home where I know I am relatively safe from being molested by a creepy dude in a giant rat suit ...and think about this when ever someone blows out the candles on their birthday cake there is usually some degree of saliva that flies out of their mouth and onto the cake ..nasty eh
You know you were brainwashed by TV when you can watch 30 year old commercials and remember every damn word, jingle , and even the expressions on their faces. OMG!
I just called my mom at 2:34 AM to ask if my Lazer Tag was in the attic. She wasn't sure and, oddly enough, started a conversation as if this was a normal phone call. Really mom?
they have invented a time machine...it is youtube.man im only 25 but holy crap this shit is blowing my mind right now.I HAD THE FUCKIN G.I.JOE BRIDGE LAYER
Those NOKTB toys "I'm their #1 fan!" campaign really glorified rampant materialism, didn't it? "I got their sound stage, their microphones, blah, blah, blah"
When Fruit Roll Ups were made by Fruit Corners they had little bits of fruit in them and were normal flavors like Strawberry, Grape, Apple, Mango, etc. and they had a large percentage of fruit juice in them. Now they are just glorified candy.
Those are the fruit roll ups that I remember. Put it this way; if my mum put something in our lunch for a treat it still had to be somewhat healthy and fruit roll ups were allowed.
It's pretty scary that I actually remember most of those commercials from when I was a kid. And I could sing along to the Juicy Fruit commercial, and it's been like what...20 years? I didn't think I watched that much TV as a kid :)
And Kirk Cameron is in the beginning, and the girl at the beach is Vikki from Small Wonder. And I believe with Jason Harvey is the one twin brother from Hogan's Family.

haha, so true. The characters were freaky, and the prizes sucked- but it was one of those places you could go crazy and not get thrown out

That was Jason Harvey from The Wonderyears, kid on the left in the camp bunkhouse scene, in the fruit roll ups commercial.

I was so let down when I finally went to Chuck E Cheese's. The advertising made it look so much cooler than it was.
thegirl44 4 years ago
Yuck! There's something to be said about the people in the Fruit Roll Ups ads that actually eat this stuff.
I didn't like Fruit Roll Ups when I was a kid and I don't like them now.
CelesteK 4 years ago
Celes: Well, at least Fruit Roll Ups were actually edible, because there have been people from our generation who ate Play-Doh...:P
