@rosereviews nah, it's just sticky and he wants to get every bit of it. Trust me, he was enjoying it. Beagles love food even more than most. I've taken advantage of this with my beagle by getting this rubber toy called a "Kong" that you can put treats inside of, and it keeps them busy in a way they like for a little while as they chew on it trying to get the treats out. You can even get peanut butter in a tube in the dog section specifically for injecting it into this toy and others like it.
What you do is get a butter cracker and put a heaping tablespoon of Pb on top, then puch it up on the roof of their mouth. My beagles go nuts for it this way and the enjoy it longer instead of looking like they're saying "did I just eat something?"
