considering what this goal meant and who scored it, this is one of the greatest goals of all time for the wings. the hockey played by Detroit's tough guys in this series was huge. Kocur was also solid.

@Knightmessenger Gary Thorne did a 10x better job with hsi enthusiasm. "McCart in, McCarty...SCOOOOOOOOOOORES!!!

ESPN did better on this one.

@thesportsdude90 Yeah, the announcers were better with ESPN but I'm pretty sure CBC had more replay angles. I don't remember ESPN using the high end zone angle which was the best.

Ya gotta love the call from Bob Cole. I about had a heart attack when McCarty did that. Best Cup of the recent 4, except maybe 2008 when they beat Cindy and the Pittsburgh boys.

This is my favorite play ever, by my favorite player ever. Darren McCarty is so awesome! Not only did he waste Claude Lemieux and avenge his teammate, Kris Draper, be he also scores the Stanley Cup Finals winning goal, bringing Stanley back to Hockeytown for the first time in 42 years, all in the same season!!!! It doesn't get any better than this.
