I had respect for 7 back when they were local with playout and local shows beyond the weekend advertorials, the slashing of budgets that saw the program director's job made redundant (what is David Franken up to these days?) was the true nail in the coffin.

Of course there is a committed albeit reduced number of staff at BTQ today, fault lies with not enough funding from the 7 beancounters in Pyrmont.

PS. there's an 80's 9 for Brisbane promo recently uploaded, good idea rolls around it seems.

Those same budget cuts have sucked the "Brisbane" right out of the station. Seven's screening Riverfire, yet all the Riverfire promotion is on Nine.

Seven has to stop thinking about profit and start pumping money back into what's important, viewer loyalty.

I would rather watch Extra than picking suitcases. I want to hear Brisbane's issues from a Brisbane voice in a Brisbane studio again. I want to be proud of my hometown again. Bring back the "Brisbane" and the viewers will come back.
