I completely understand the rights of a private business and their ability to refuse service to anyone, but I'm not sure how a private business can lawfully hold your money hostage against your will. This "customer" isn't asking to be given a service, he is wanting to end the service. I think they are two different things.

It was kind of cool when he finally came out of the bank he received a hero's welcome.This was the 2nd or 3rd bank we had marched by, but we were so surprised that they had a sign ready made and automatically shut down the bank. The sign read something like "Due to unforeseen circumstances we are temporary closed". It took only twenty some odd people to close them down. However when they started to let in 1 customer at a time is when my friend decided to close his account.

You would want your proof right away and make sure all your money at least has some sort of proof of the transaction. As a normal person you would step inside and get it done. The problem is the bank sees it as money they have not yours. In other cases they close the bank doors with the people inside and call the cops and claim they are traspassing and arrest them.straight out lie

If I were to act a fool on the PRIVATE PROPERTY of another and I refused to leave after being asked by the owner of, or a designee I would be trespassing. People do their jobs to make money, policemen follow orders to keep their jobs, they're the same as every other worker that follows orders. Break the orders and you're fired. Secondly, it is a private business, they're allowed to say who can and can't come in. That's what happened in Zucotti park, the owners wanted the park cleaned so they gave protesters an opportunity to move their belongings. The smart ones did so and kept their belongings, everyone else was raided because they didn't listen.

@bizzyjl Again I ask a simple question why should I go to another branch regardless of how many minutes apart. But to be honest we marched by one maybe two banks before we got to this one. We could not believe how prepared there reaction was to us and we wanted to spread the word that 10+ protesters to any B.ofA. would cause them to shut down. Having been forced to stop there is when he decided to close his account. Because I believe Nov. 5 was the call to action day and he was doing it early.
