Its a cool gadget.. other than that, I agree with you when it comes to some people (especially kids) who stare at their screen 24 hours aday.

Before these came out, some people turned up their mp3 players and looked out the window (when riding on a bus) just to isolate themself.. now they stare at their Iphones or ugly blackberries to ignore or isolate them self.. pathetic..

@dualshock3 What else can you do on the bus? personally i don't think socializing with just anyone is a good thing. its much better to have just a small group of friends that you know you can trust, rather than having connections with everyone. anything can be overdone, even drinking too much water can kill you.

Aside from that, if someone can be so vulnerable as to be controlled by electronics, they aren't mentally stable in the first place.

Or, you know... to pass the time? Checking a phone while right there with your friends is rude, but out in public just trying to pass the time and get from point a to point B, it's fairly acceptable to zone out with something you enjoy. Not everyone just walks up and talks to strangers, most people have friends (just not there), and some people are just tired and want to have some precious alone time. Maybe their house is full of people or they are shy? No reason to belittle them.

sorry, Psychology enthusiast here, but "Antisocial" is used to describe Criminal behaviour. I understand that the scripts used for this are vis-a-vis transcripts of the rant found on the internets, but the words "Social Phobic" or "Avoidant" are better descriptors for the behaviour implied. My rant is about how people attribute everything that has been around for a while to the iphone, acting like anything about it is innovative. There have been personal pcs around for a long time, even ones with phone capabilities. The iphone is a glorified pda crippled of the functionality of a true personal pc and people eat it up. Apparently if you call a lame program an app, put an 'i' in front of everything, and load a barely functional os it makes the product innovative.
