  • What did they do with the REAL David Wilcox????

  • I beg to differ, you see the "other" David Wilcox is the other David Wilcox. Fortunately the world is big enough for both great musicians!

  • Huh. I was wondering why this wasnt blues rock... And then I remembered that this is the "other" David Wilcox

  • How sweet! I will play this song tomorrow to my old car and I'm sure it will be very happy and proud about it and will then hopefully drive fine for the next thousand miles with me. My car lives up to its name - it's lovingly called "DENT" :-)

  • lol.....hundreds of thousands of miles of memories in my parrents vehicles, and even more in mine...between my vehicles, and my parrents, weve got 1 and a half million miles........let me tell ya, thats alotta memories

  • "Rusty Old American Dream" and "Really Just a Vehicle" are much better David Wilcox car songs. He does like to sing about cars! love the beard!

  • @joshuaneder1 You've defined yourself as someone whos only accomplishment is that you say awful things about people who actually DO something. Lets hear YOUR great songs.

  • @joshuaneder1 Oh, do teach us, Joshua, what the true meaning and manifestation of 'deep' is!

  • 1993.... Jurassic Park hit theaters, Bill Clinton takes office.. Super Nintendo competes with Sega Genesis.... The production of Sony Betamax ended in North America..... I guess it's been a while.... Really makes me offer more respect to my '93 Chevy Silverado.... and his 330,000kms

  • There is a Christmas hymn feel to this, he's really something, awesome.

  • I've played there! What a great place! A great performer and a great song.

  • The car that he is talking about here is a '93 Toyota Previa. I sure hoe he finally decided to keep it!

  • Tom Paxton plus James Taylor = David Wilcox. Beautiful song. TAGreek

  • before I read your post I'd been telling friends that this guy is like james taylor..but then again he's not..if you get my drift....he's not known widely in England and it was a girl in Spain who gave my friend a record and said 'Just listen to this'....what a wonderful talent I nearly missed...best wishes from Liverpool.

  • thanks Prodigal Bonfyre

  • Does anyone know what he is doing with the 2 capos at once?

  • D.W. uses special capos that are cut out over certain strings . . . that way he can capo four strings at one fret and two at another (this is just an exapmple . . . I don't exactly know which he does, but he talked about it in a concert once.)

  • Check out his website for an explanation.

  • How about a post of Rusty Old American Dream? Could quite possibly be the best "car" song ever written.

  • It's funny because I've often thought of things like this... Wandering through a scrap yard... if every car could talk... each story from showroom shine to that final mile. Like that old sofa on the side of the road, the stories they could all tell.

  • Take the six minutes to listen...this guy is a hidden gem. If you have kids you will find it touching.

  • i agree i was looking for..... (do the bear cat david wilcox) found this on my travels totally different performer equaly great!

  • I remember listening to this when I was 6 years old, and I'm currently 17.

I honestly cannot think of a better, more talented musician- one who will truly withstand the test of time.

  • Nice guitar sound. Some excellent images such as the lost Starburst candy. But this song doesn't compete well against David's masterpieces (such as Language of the Heart). I hope David puts more videos (with excellent sound quality of his live performances) on YouTube.
