I don't read replies too often, sorry. I wrote my favorite singers down, Keith Green, Stan Rogers, and John Denver, and then realized they all were folk singers, all died in airplanes at relatively young ages, and so I added Josh Groban! Let's hope he lives a long as well as you!
There is a parody about Garnet, Stan's brother, making really bad beer sung by some band in Minnesota. Rick Fitzgerald sang this at MLAG at Little Bear Park. First I heard of it. I would not do it justice. It needs a man's voice.
Charlotte: I heard that parody once on the CBC back in the 1980's, I believe sung by the Friends of Fiddlers' Green. I recall that it was very funny. The last line of each line was "Garnet's homemade beer", instead of "Barrett's Privateers". I've also heard a parody by Kevin Swayze regarding Stan's untimely death at the Cincinnati airport.
Charlotte: I don't believe Kevin ever recorded it, and I don't believe he is performing these days. Last I heard, he lives in Toronto. I saw Nathan for the first time at the Mission Festival here in British Columbia last year. I hadn't known that one of Stan's progeny was touring until I say it in the program. He has a great voice and plays very well. He includes a couple of his dad's tunes in his sets. Hard to believe that 26 years after Stan's death, I'm watching his son perform.
CyberSoldierGerm: Thanks for your kind words. I had the pleasure of seeing Stan perform a number of times at Folk Festivals in the late '70s and early '80s and his music moved me greatly. If you are interested in getting some of his music, I would recommend Fogerty's Cove as being his best album. In this video I was just testing my webcam, but as there appears to be interest, I may post more.
I am a brit and am ashamed to say I was only introduced to Stan Rogers recently, he was a truly great Canadian songsmith and my only lament is that I never knew of him in his living years. You have a wonderful voice and should carry on a grand tradition of Canadian Folk music brought to life by this wonderful man.
Very good rendition. I just finished 20-years in the Forces, and have heard Stan's songs sung everywhere from CFS Alert in the high arctic, to Bosnia, to Afghanistan. Everywhere Canadian soldiers would be quick to join in, and always any allied soldiers would ask "wow - who sings that" and we'd stick out our chest and say "those are Canadian songs." Thanks Stan !!
Thanks for your comments, cricketkermit. I agree, Stan and the band are something we can all be proud of. It's great to hear that his music is making it around the world. Keep up the good work!
I'm Scottish. It's one of my favourite Scottish folk songs ever, and you do a fine Scottish accent in your rendition of it. But it's a Canadian song?! I just found out tonight, by looking on here, and I am scandalised! lol. Well, it's a great song either way.
Thanks for the kind words, campbellonia. Yes, it's by the Canadian Stan Rogers, who passed away before his time in 1982. It's on his Fogerty's Cove Album, my all-time favorite album. He was about 24 when he recorded it. My four year olds love it and sing it at every opportunity. I'll post a video of them doing it as well.
Thanks, Charlotte! May your time be long and folk-filled.

OK, The Tinkers at Dusty's do the Garnet's Beer song parody. Can you tell me Kevin Swayze's info?

Thanks! It's under-appreciated now that my toddlers have heard Baby Beluga about three thousand times.

This is a Candian song. Stan Rogers the man who wrote and sang it is a Canadian.
