  • Now THAT'S the Wrath Of Con(Rail)

  • Was this a mock crash? Seems like it with all the people around at the crossing

  • Look at how well that awesome 1980's American car took the hit! If they re-created this today using a modern car, there would be not a damn thing left!

  • LMFAOOOO

  • I am thinking this is really old footage from the mid 80's Conrail is no longer around (no longer a class1, now in three cities as a switching railroad- Conrail Shared Assits). Also I beleive that this might have been staged as part of the "opeation life saver" programs. See the crossing is roped off to keep all the people watching at a safe distance

  • @asteinman1 Wow, you should work for a real life CSI... You are amazing!

  • @DirkDiggler1711 Umm, did I say something to offend you?!?! I don't beleive I said anything personal against you or anything bad about this video. I was just giving my observation. No need to be a jerk. Are you just a angry/hatefull person? If you did not like my comment, could"ve just ignored it since it had nothing to do with you.

  • Nice to see an EMD GP30 still going :D

  • what a wast for a good engine

  • its a pretty short train

  • It stopped pretty quick

  • This is bloody hell!!!

  • train 1 car 0...

  • This being a demonstation, why the horn? Dramatic effect?

  • Obviously staged!! Too many onlookers before the crash!

  • @bullfrog1954 it was a demostration that the local railroad company did for the highschoolers... i know this becxause they did this at my highschool too there showing what would happen if you ignore the red crossing lights

  • @TheBrantwan Thought so! Thanx!

  • Why does people keep missleading titles... This was not a real traincrash!!!

  • this was stupid!!!, here in Perú all these people would have helped to move this really really small car, in fact, I would have moved that car alone, it´s not hard!!! train cannot stop obviously, it's a train!!!

  • @locotrenperu its called a test! dumb ass conrail has closed of sections of railroad so that they can learn more about car and train collisions and how to make them less lethal in the event that one happens. feel smart now don't you?

  • @dpstarcom in that case I apologize, so: good video!!!!

  • I can only hope that this was staged as some kind of safety film

  • @starguard No.. a hundred people just stand on the opposite side of the road at rail road intersections now.. haha. .Yeah it was staged.

  • I miss the blue uboats

  • I love how every other comment is bashing Japanese & European cars & trains.... Makes me glad I would NEVER buy an American vehicle.

  • The WMATA (Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority) The limit is 60mph and It at some ponts goes near 100... We dont have that old of a high speed train, But on the East coast there is the Acela Express that can go Over 100 mph!

  • That wasent a train crash, it was a train push !

  • yeah USA!

  • aww, theyre holding hands

  • Oh boy. Time to find adam4bfc's original comment. There goes my day.

  • @LionelCNTrainGuy I feel you, brother

  • I believe this happened on what is now the Reading and Northern

  • This was staged! Notice all the people on the right.

The railroads and local law enforcement often set up these crashes to show the public what happens when a train hits a car.

  • OMG! Did u actually catch the train crash!?? Is this real???

  • my car!!!!

  • Musical Reference - Yardbirds " Train Kepta Rolling "

  • Why do they always wait until AFTER they hit something before they apply the brakes?

  • @early1900s not always, they might be in full emergency before they hit something

  • @early1900s It takes up to a mile or more for most trains (especially long freight trains) to stop, the engineer probably hit the brakes long before he hit the car.

  • why do they always trash a chevy

  • @MrGroovy888

Well Chevy - Too expensive to fix and breaks down too often. Great for collision testing.

  • @MrGroovy888 "why do they always trash a chevy"? Easy. They're pretty valueless early on. Not like your daddy's Chevy anymore.

Sounds a bit paranoid with the "always." They're picking on us, mommy.

  • Poor Conrail train...

  • with all those people watching they could have pushed the car xD

  • That car held up better than i thought it would.

  • i didnt know conrail had gp30s

  • @BUICK925 Conrail had quite a few GP30s, inherited from Penn Central and Reading.

  • @U33C

makes seicne then, stll fake though

  • @BUICK925 seicne?

  • @sqhschief

my bad, yes the wreck is a fake, and now i understand how conrail got gp30s

  • @U33C

makes seicne then, stll fake though

    is that my car????

    Not Again!

  • @BUICK925 they did

  • Is it a real evidence with an isolated people on the side,

or is it some movie crew who fail on their crash scene because of no explosion happen?

  • @WazowskiChannel It's a demonstration.Likely Operation Lifesaver.

  • Ans why does it have to be a caprice? they're classics now. what a waste

  • Comment removed

  • @ToyotaFan321 - probably wasn't classic when they did this demo.

  • That was a fast stop

  • @ToyotaFan321 thats because it was a short train

  • AWSOME !

  • The guy in the car- AHHHHH! WEEEEE! Ah man, it stopped.

  • 0:11 - 0:15 Grind :))

  • Train 1 Car 0

  • Neat GP30! Nice video! Was this filmed for Operation Lifesaver?

  • It was the trains fault, it had plenty of time to swerve out of the way.

  • @tryithere That would be a GP30 in the video...

  • oh my god, is the sd40 okay?

  • sorry buddy, todays imports are not yesterdays imports.

  • @CSXRockford

Imports are imports.. all junk.. just toss them into the Atlantic and let them rot

  • @YasmineSautereau lol. u mean domestics are junk? havent seen too many fords with over 200k miles

  • @skream22 Open your eyes.

  • @skream22

My Ford has over 200k on it.

  • @YasmineSautereau Yea. Like the made in Mexico Chevys. Or the made in Canada Fords. I do like my made in Marysville Ohio Honda though. 200,000+ miles with not one major repair.

  • train no loke car train stop hear!!!

  • Sparktacks.

  • now why doesnt my town have an exhibition like that?

  • @ExploreDestination These demonstrations serve little or no purpose when all the watchers giggle with glee and shout "Woo" and"Cool"They laugh and applaud as if it was entertainment. To far too many it's just GTA.The message is lost.

  • sick!!!! you guys set up the hit from the engine. shame on you!!!!

  • sick!!!! you guys set up the hit from the engine. shame on you!!!!

  • love that horn!

  • HEY!!! WTF WHERE MY FU***** CAR

  • What car???

  • I parked it right... here...

  • i think he hates his lifee

  • looks like their filming an "operation lifesaver" video or doing a demonstration, although i cant imagine them running that much of a consist for a demo...

  • Its a test not a crash!!!!!!!!!!

  • WTF !!!

Thank you so very very much for this extremely informative video !

I mean, who would have EVER guessed that stopping on the tracks and getting hit by a train could have such horrible results!

Someone should start a national awareness campaign to get the word out before it's too late !

    Think of the children !!

    THE CHILDREN !!!

  • @imallpissedoff There is a national awareness campaign. It's called "Operation Lifesaver"Think of the children? The children already know. And they DON'T CARE!!

  • @gebass6 - congratulations on missing the sarcasm. Consider yourself Poed.

  • @JBofBrisbane I think you sent a message to me by accident.because I don't know what you are talking about.

  • • Watch the Runaway Train video on this channel. Train was started by a 5 year old boy at the controls.

  • not as lame as the last train crash video i watched, but still pretty damn close

  • poor caprice, Why couldn't they use a piece of shit honda.

  • @CSXRockford They would have, but the Honda still runs, so they left the Crapice.

  • @u02incw wow only 3 months to think that one up ,, Must have been trying to ad a fart pipe to your honda.

  • @CSXRockford No, only took 1 second - just saw the vid at that moment. I used to work for Chevy, and know all about Caprices as well as other GM [Government Motors] products, which is why i drive European cars built to last, designed to be repaired, withstand crashes, go easy on the gas, be kind to the environment, and be easy to recycle after they wear out in 20-30 years / 500,000 miles. I don't own any Honda's yet, but many former co-workers do, and from what i hear, they are decent machines

  • @CSXRockford well there was much discussion about whether or not they should push the caprice out of the way and push a Honda there instead.

  • @CSXRockford ...CSXRockford....Defender of Grandma type cars....that poor train got some crapice on it...

  • @CSXRockford because they used a piece of shit caprice instead.

  • @CSXRockford i believe they were trying to see how good the caprice can withstand being hit by a train

  • @CSXRockford they would have to pick up more pieces

  • @CSXRockford

because the pieces of shit the own youtube probably have shares in honda. -_-

  • @WowOmgStudios Honda makes good cars. Unlike Ford & Chitty, I mean Chevy.

  • @madjimms

What can i say? I'm a mini cooper man.

  • @WowOmgStudios Mini is usually less reliable than a Honda or Toyota of the same decade.

  • @madjimms

Well, opinions are here for a reason..

Besides, BMW & Mercedes are above both

  • eh, it's no fun to see when you know nobody is in it.

Much more fun to see when idiots are being crushed to death.

  • :'( thats so sad...

  • @HighVoltage993 therwas NO ONE in there. If there was thed get out of the way! LOL

  • is that sound of the brakes - them locking?

  • @epl0si0n Yes!!!

  • @gebass6 me thought there were systems in place to stop locking, incase the train slides and derails

  • @epl0si0n You mean like anti-lock brakes? No.Trains are capable of locking up the brakes and stopping the wheels. That's why there are flat spots on some wheels of the cars.Everyone says it takes a mile and a half to stop a train.Actually it depends on weight and speed.

  • @gebass6 wasnt there a train crash in the US because i train went down a hill too fast after losing it's brakes. but the Dynamic brakes cancelled out after the emergency brakes initiated - which is it's own Anti-lock braking system

  • @epl0si0n That sounds like the Duffy Street Derailment at Cajon Pass back in '89.One units dynamic brakes didn't work. They aplied the Emergency brakes which shut off the Dynamics an All the units(locomotives). The Emergency brakes were applied.Too little, too fast, too late. That's still NOT anti-lock.That's just the way they work.Or USED to work. Now when a train goes into emergency, the dynamics automatically are activated.Google Duffy Street incident.

  • @gebass6 ooohh righto. wont argue that one! just thought in this day and age some sort of ABS for trains was invented

  • @epl0si0n ABS is for people who panic and stomp the brake pedal. The system stops the car for you. Unfortunately most people are non drivers nowadays. I grew up on non ABS cars. I have a hard time remembering to just stomp the pedal and let the system do its thing.

  • this is the only time i would injoy ridding in the trunk :) that is if there wasnt a tree just off camera there somewhere.

  • MY CAR! assholes!

  • i always say if you meet at the crossing and try to bet it who wins you are the train YOU LOSE

  • master of dezaster the train

  • That train stopped CRAZY fast, is that because of the insane braking or was that the car stopping it?

  • @prelude2005 It didn't have that many cars on it, So it was fairly light far as trains go, Had it been a 100 plus regular train it would have gone alot farther before stopping.

  • @prelude2005 Because it was a short light train!!

  • @gebass6 Thanks there conductor! ;)

  • *engineer* its a beautiful day outside...OH SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!

  • LOL

  • Not as good as the video Jeremy did for Top Gear. In this video it looks like you can probably survive it. Where as his the car is fuc*ed

  • No way to treat a GP30!!

  • I have to ask why someone was in the right placde to film when this went down.

  • To those deliberating the train sacrifice, I don't think hitting a crappy GM sheet metal car will do diddly to the plow and frame of a loco ( i think they may have engineered that thought in as a safety precaution to protect from derail from...cars on tracks). As a matter of fact. I think they should host car smashups in every town on Friday nights with beer and BBQ support trackside, just for fun spectacle.

  • wow that train has nice brakes it stopped in like 200 feet

  • @KartKing4ever it's short, but so is the consist, 2 units and 5 cars

  • @KartKing4ever Trains can actually stop really fast... as long as it's not pulling a ton of loads

  • That poor Geep 30!

  • thank you to the person that made trains

  • I bet the car was still drivable after that.

  • Полсотни уродов стоят и не столкнули тачку с рельс до проезда поезда!!!

  • I like this Fanfare. Nice horn... ;-))

  • it's one way to clear the right of way of brush!!

  • Even though it's staged, I wouldn't have stood where those people were. What if the train derailed?

  • @Dockshund I thought of that too. Or, what if the train pushed the car into the other side, where the people were standing?

  • So this is only a demo for the public.

  • facinating...humm

  • Looks like a GP30 and a U boat.

  • Fuck you, car!

  • strong brakes

  • that title wasn't misleading

  • I thought it took a mile for them to stop

  • @BARRIEMOREBARLOW that's for longer trains this ones not too long

  • @BARRIEMOREBARLOW Yes! Thats an average train! This train had only 5 cars which can stop easier! (Not as much weight)

  • Nice conrail blue engins! They need to show this video in driving classes..

  • PWNED!

  • the fuck is the point of this?

  • @stakeee to show wat happens to any dumb ass who wanders in front of a train.

  • The train is like GTFO BITCH

  • when i was a kid i use to see so much conrails passing every couple hours in toledo ohio now there all gone T_T.

  • @SaberTanker22 Me too! I used to see mostly Conrail engines when I'd watch trains as a kid in Fortville, Indiana.

  • Looks like the power of a human dropkick'in a soda can!!!!

  • lucky this demo didnt dserail the train

  • its not really a train crash. more like a bug hitting a windshield.

  • Ex Reading GP 30 on the point

  • Jesus never realised how bug American locos are compared to British ones :O

  • @adam4bfc americans think bigger is better

  • @GWR4079

#1. A Land Rover would be just as fucked.

#2. American trains also go greater distances and serve as a sort of hub-and-spoke distribution from major centers (chicago, atlanta) to smaller areas (Madison, Wisconsin and the like of smaller cities) as well as carrying larger amounts of industrial supply.

  • @Hiei2k7 true but due to they are so good they don't need a crash test lol

  • @GWR4079

If you're trying to make me out as a "better than thou because i'm an" American, you're wrong.

  • @Hiei2k7 no not really im just pointing out that defenders don't need crash tests because they are so strong and it would be driverble after the colision

  • @adam4bfc American locomotives are alot better!!!!! Your horns are like (tweet) Ours (HOOOnnnOOONK!!!!!!) And your trains fall to pieces if they hit a car!

  • @metroliner89 so you aint been to britain, yours a lump of metal welded together besides if it werent for us you wouldnt have a clue what you are talking about, i aint heard of a british train hit a car and fall to pieces, its usually the car that gets smashed to pieces, e.g few years ago on a preserved railway called the "east lancs railway" a train just departed from a station and hit a car and at 5mph the train hit the car and the train had to damage and the car was demolished !!

  • @metroliner89 we get around that problem by NOT HITTING CARS!! Our citizens are clever enough to know not to park up on the lines... that's what 7 generations of NOT inbreeding does to you!! (With the exception of some places in the midlands.... I'm not so sure about there...)
