  • I cut surgical tubing into 3 strips, and then used contact cement to attach it to the top and bottom of each finger.

  • How did you attach the elastics?

  • Love the sound it makes. Reminds me of the game "Snatcher."

  • I saw the exact same thing in one of those candy bowls for halloween.

  • Sorry, I was locked out of Youtube for some reason... It's not that strong. I only had a small air cylinder to use.

  • What kind of force does that thing have? How strong is its grip.

  • making robo hands should be regulated by law.

  • y its a fake prosthetic made for testing diferent things and if i did it it would be just for fun y should the gvv have anything to to do with it?

  • I tried different materials to pull down the fingers... the thing that worked best was flat shoe laces. I wrapped them around a small piece of steel that I welding across the top of each finger and glued them with contact cement.

I don't currently have a video camera so I can't give you a better/different views (and my iphone doesn't do video!).

  • moving the finger with a rope or

  • Thank you so much for your quick response, since you have already produced a working model can you by chance post some 360 Degree view of the hand. So I can see your expert craftsmanship :) Thanks again!

  • Great Job, any idea on what size chain was used? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • I have no idea what size chain it was... I posted on my local craigslist for used motorcycle chain and I took what I could get. If you get motorcycle chain be careful... some chains have rubber bushings in between the links and the rubber catches on fire when you weld it! It stinks up the house!

  • LOL for some reason my first thought was it tortures balls Noooooo

  • I had to weld some pieces of steel (I used short sections of coat hanger) on the back of each finger to keep it from bending over back ward. Lay the chain down and see how each link rotates around the one next to it. You should be able to see where you will have to weld a piece to keep it from folding back. you will have to put one at each joint. Let me know when you have this done and I'll be happy to help you with the rest.

    Steve

  • how did you make it not to go over couse my rubberband just pull the fingers over, and how did you get it to close? can you send me a message please!!!!!?

  • cool

  • I used a regular old air cylinder hooked up to my compressor. It only takes a 1" throw to get the hand to close.

  • thx Are you useing a pneumatic actulator like they did?

  • I got some used motorcycle chain on Craigslist. I used surgical tubing on the back of each finger to pull them back up straight.

  • that is cool what did u use 4 the fingers?
