since 2004 I am in the steam car detailing business and I could not belive that this was a detailing but could be just moustring. firstly it is a dry steam the dry steam does not clean thats for sure. secondly holding the steam over 30 cm where the steam gets cold and no use.
I would love to see this used on a dirty car! We get lease turn in's and older cars that are just destroyed and dirty as hell at my ford dealership. I can see this saving a lot of time if it actually works on cars with actual stains on the seat that take multiple scrubs and run-overs with a steam extractor. I wonder how it works on melted hard candy and super sticky stains on the vinyl. If this is just used on cars like this though, then they already don't take long to wipe down.
@MrBananaMann we have started using the optima steamer in glasgow and it does take off candy even chewing gum! and for really dirty cars there is a wet steam setting.

it wont damage it, its completely safe when used properly. Holding it in the same spot for 5 minutes at point blank you could see some damage but not how hes doing it. Think about it why would they even think about steaming any vehicle if it damaged it?
and taking too much Tylenol will cause liver damage or kill you. Just like everything else steam is great when used properly. For heavily soiled carpet you still can't beat an extractor. But spot clean, shampoo, steam, extract can't be beat.
yes steam violently reacts to dirt and brings them to the surface or "shakes" them loose from the fibers. If the seats are really bad steam then vacuum them a couple of times until you are satisfied. One pass usually does the trick.
Would you please tell me what kind of machine is the one that you are using and if you also use it to clean the exterior of the car. If you could also tell me where to buy it that would be very helpful. I live in Salt Lake City, UT

I'm sure blowing all of that water into the A/C system and dash electronics is good for the car

that will damage the dash due to very high heat

Does that allow for deep penetration of the seats to get out smells and such?
