  • It is sad that people doesn't know this culture traces and have only bad things to say ! Specially about people that they "think" they know ! Congrats missionarios ! It is very good to know that our young men have good sense of humor and know lots of culture.

  • im half maori samoan, im very into my history and culture and i thought that was awesome. anyone hu gives it heaps wen performing a haka will certainly get a buzz. sometimes new observers of the haka find it funny..i can undastand da, its allgud..but ill bet wen watched in the right context theyl see the haka for what it really is - inspiring, meanacing, intimidating and unforgiving. im proud of my culture and hope people enjoy performg/watching it, but never mocking it. Peace :)

    kia ora!

  • bro im maori and the haka is from NZ.. but these guys gave it heaps.. tumeke alright chur

  • hey the real meaning of the haka this one in particular is warrior called Te Raupuaha thanking someone for saving his life

the haka is a war /challenge song and done with great seriousness lots of schools have their own haka's and lots of tribal groups in NZ compete in festivals this haka being performed any kiwi should be able to do this with his eye closed if not he/she should be slapped

  • oh ok, no its not offending in any way.

  • hahaha...ken tell tha 1 on tha rightz palagi!...so funni!!! ^_^.

  • du u no hw to pronouce tha word that r cuming owt of ur mouth

  • lol what exactly where they doing?

  • Its the freaking haka

  • haha thats funny, ive never heard of it before, but its obviously very popular because ive seen a few very funny video's

  • Please don't be fooled into thinking the haka is "funny". What is funny is these god botherers trying to perform a haka. A haka is a united front against a common enemy or adversery. Look it up under "meaning of haka" for an explanation from a New Zealand expert and for the real words. It is definitely NOT funny.

  • well, im not saying the point of it is funny, i meant that it looked like a lot of fun to do and it did look a bit silly. although im sure its for a very serious reason. sorry if i offended you.

  • Hey, it's not your comment that offends me. What offends me are these Missionary dances I see all over youtube claiming to be a haka and making it out to be something comical. There is a lot of pride and tradition in the haka, it's not just a dance that the All Blacks do before a game. I was guessing you hadn't seen the haka before and didn't want you to think this is how it's done.

  • well, to me it looks as if they are doing it because they enjoy it, and i think they have an understanding of what it is, its just they dont realize how important to other cultures and things. :]

but yes you were right, ive never even heard of a haka before this, thank you for letting me know

  • The big guy on the left is a native hawaiian, he's been doing the haka since before he could walk, believe me he has an understanding of the culture.. i'm grateful he performed this for us and has taught it to others so that they can experience such a wonderful culture- i'm sorry if this offends you in anyway, but its not meant to mock anything in anyway

  • ....^^

  • lol mean!

  • love it love it :)

  • san francisco mission :)

  • That was so funny. What mission were those elders in?
