They are both talented artists, but they just don't use their talent the honest way as other bands. There is no difference between them in my opinion, both did the same thing, both produce great sound quality music and they are both succesfull. Maybe you like behemoth so much that you can't see it yet, idk

Many people I know get turned off by the repetion and perceived monotony, while I praise the band for their technical prowess and ridiculously catchy riffs. Meshuggah isn't for everyone, but is a masterpiece for those who are into technicality and complexity in their music.

Actually, it's blackened death metal. The fact that it is anti-christian is indeed nothing to do with the genre, I agree there completely. After all, Morbid Angel and Deicide are extremely anti-christian and they are no remotely like black metal. They are full ahead death metal in every way. Whereas Darkthrone and Gorgoroth are black metal, but not just because they are anti-christian.

However, Behemoth is blackened death - which means there is some black metal influence musically.
