  • Wow only 1 dislike with 26,357 views and 17 likes amazing

  • Back when this game was being sold, if you scored 3000 or more, you could send a picture of your TV to Activision and Activision would grant you membership to the Activision Bucket Brigade and they'd give you a Bucket Brigade patch.

I used to have a hard copy of this, and this was fun as hell back in the day.

  • Damn... o_o

    You're like a machine dude..

I couldn't keep up with the game that fast! xD

  • Wow.

  • 25,563 views so far and look no adds who else can claim that?

  • this guy is on some drugs that slow the game down only for his eyes.. but for us we see what is realy happening!! or else he's an alien!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • are you an alien....?

  • @dltc5 Take me to your leader

  • @dltc5 no I'm human just played to much as a 2 year old all the way threw adult age and still doing it

  • if you liked kaboom and have an android phone check out egg drop on the android market

  • Holy shiz..

  • instead of collecting the falling bombs we should be concerned about how to arrest the damn terrorist!

  • DAMN if it goes this fast on whatever level you were on. I wonder what level 100 would be like

  • I'm going to flame my own video because apparently our freedom of speech law is looking to be changed by a bunch of dicks. SO before I get imprisoned for it FUCK THIS VIDEO I hate my own video and anyone who post anything on my video.

  • atari was fking awesome guys i loved it like sega dreamcast.. now its all gone..

  • My high score is 3751....I have no clue where my atari is...I'm only 17 to whoever says they would like to see kid these days try and do good at this game.....Sorry if this is a Repost

  • @BlakeBMGoeres Go to e-bay and buy one there are lots to choose from

  • @thedarkbanshee But does it cost alot? Cartages are an expensive medium, especially knowing that many atari games were made independently,

  • My high score is 3751....I have no clue where I put the atari but I'm only 17 to whoever said he would like o see kids these days play this game.

  • Now this is a real video game! Games now concentrate on good graphics more than gameplay or replay value. I'd love to see a 10 year old now (the age I was when I played this) try this game. I bet they wouldn't get past the 3rd level. I always hated how the odd levels the bombs were spread out.

  • @Akira1422 I played this game before the age of 2 as I have been told. I do not recall when I sucked at this game I was to young and once I was old enough to realize this game was difficult I already had it under my belt and difficult was the last thing on my life for this game until the 8th level. Then it gets HARD. your right this was focused on gameplay and its gameplay is so simple yet so addicting and fun. Games these days are sometimes good but most the time flat out boring or dumb.

  • @Akira1422

    *edit

Thinking back, I was born in 81, so I at most was 6 or 7 when I really played the shit outta this game.

  • AIMBOT?

  • @lilfuzzballa yeah the human kind

  • It looks hard at 5000 point, my dad would always tell me how he would get to one million points and flip the score... :0

  • My little pool thing are much smaller.

  • @grg31997 switch your difficulty. There is an A and a B selection. you can switch during game play or anytime you desire. Perhaps I should make a video on it as well and me ability to play on the hard setting

  • @thedarkbanshee I just did it. I'm always switching that thing, I never know what its on and ussually it doesn't make a difference. BTW Have you ever played "Oink!"?

  • hahah this game was crazy! brilliant

  • @mintydog06 Yeah and to think it was suppose to be a breakout close that failed and this was the amazing result

  • shit gets craaaaaazy

  • subliminal message

( in the future justin bieber will come, dislike him ) :D

  • @kbosati I get tired of the stupid justin bieber comments on every video out there on youtube. yes the guy is DUMB AS FUCK so what who cares.

  • This game was the shit!

  • I use to play this game on that Atari console back in 1982 almost 30 years ago...wow this brings good memories!

  • The things we had to do in those days when it was raining.

  • holy freaking crap!!! dude, you just kicked jace hall's butt!!!!

  • @thgehawk141 who is jace hall'

  • @thedarkbanshee jace hall show, look it up

  • @thgehawk141 interesting

  • @thgehawk141 ok I seen this guy and I had no idea he was into the ATARI and he clearly states he will accept a challenge from some one who can beat him I CHALLENGED him .Spread it on the internet get me out there get my name on his list so he wont miss that I challenged him. I sent him a video reprocess but who knows if he looks at those. ill be posting on forums ill be doing my part. I been looking for 5 years now to fork over $50 to any one who can beat me.

  • @thedarkbanshee sry, my mistake

  • i play an iphone game that has similar gameplay called Mad Monkey and it gets insanely fast. Look up "ninja monkeys in action on iphone" on youtube.

  • This is hilariously fast - literally, I was actually laughing at how fast it was!!!

  • @UltimaN3rd Soon no more dial controller I can use my mind with the Emotive SPOC I already own it and with this I can make BETTER videos

  • impressive starfox

  • WOW this brings me back. The highest score I ever could get was ~2000, but our controllers were rather sticky.

  • That's just like keeping up with bills.

  • best 2600 game imho

  • that was my favorite game

  • You could of let the bombs drop at 900 and got the third bucket back but I'm sure you already knew that since you've clearly got experience.

  • @adester1

indeed. although between each 1000 points for a new bucket ts hard to keep track. thus its best to skip the first one and just go with it.

  • Dude, you're the ninja master! Holy crap!

  • @phuturephunk yeah in modern games I kick ass to which is why its sad I get kicked out of games by server owners or by vote & even banned from game servers. I made a clan made my own servers but seance people can not get rid of me they leave game. I do not spawn kill hack or do anything underhanded I simply have a hard time loosing. I went undefeated in 675 games in Mario Kart when I was in middle school. We had a contest all year long at lunch. I lost last game though 3 people ganged on me. :{

  • this game is evil

  • If this is legit then NASA seriously need to study your reflexes bro!

  • @teddy1066 That would be so cool

I can prove it was authentic just got to set up my camera and my ATARI and ill prove it.

  • @teddy1066 That would be so cool

I can prove it was authentic just got to set up my camera and my ATARI and ill prove it. Hell Ill make it a video response.

  • I just had an epileptic seizure!

  • DAYM ur fast

  • @Bulley007 Speed is not the key nor is memorization as this game can not be memorized. Its all about blurring your eyes and seeing the game as a single image rather then a bunch of bombs falling.

  • @thedarkbanshee this is true your eyes don't move to follow the bombs. you just take in the whole picture and react

  • this would be awesome on Ipad

  • he's a freak!! *gasp huff weeeeeze* he's the fastest kid alive!

  • @tigerkidtre I can do better then this I have a REAL ATARI its better then EMU I have a camera I can record it now. Also I'm almost 26 years of age :}

  • Did you know that if you hit 10,000 points on Kaboom!, then you can see the Mad Bomber make this face: '_'

  • @Bittergamer1886 Yup nailed it many many many of times

  • OMFG that gets fast!

  • If you guys like this you should check out the Kaboom game I created on the iPhone and iPod touch. Just search the App store for "Kaboom!", by Stacey Abshire

  • @snk1324 if you made this for Ipod touch can you convert it to PC? and while your at it can you make a video of you playing it and post it on youtube and then add it as a video response on my page?

  • you were definitely in the bucket bregade!

  • @GamerBoyGU82 this game came out around the time I was born although I do admit I was playing atari from younger then the age of 2

  • U are verry good

  • when does it get to the point where your just waving the stick back and forth

  • @mustangstevegt actually there is a point it reaches that and once it does it then gets INSANE at times its so fast the console is working to hard and fouls out blowing up a bomb improperly. I only know this because you can see when it starts to lag then the issue happens plus I have a ATARI 7800 which is cross comparable and does not screw up.

  • What? this isn't 2600, this looks more like the 5200 version..

  • @crazemaster89 I do not know what 5200 ver looks like this is 2600 on EMU aka emulation although i do have the 2600 atari there is a video responce of my own with the orange backgound. the game is old which is why the background is orange at one time it was green then it went to orange then it fixed it self and as the game progresses it turned yellow then orange and finally red lol but none the less its the 2600

  • dang i never got that high of a score that was one of my favorite games

  • @roccet2115 Well I encourage you to get better. I'm willing to take a challenge from any player that is willing to record from their TV with a authentic ATARI. Beat my score Ill send you $50.00 US currency. I do not mean this score its on EMU it would be unfair we would have to make a time and take a week to get our BEST. Then post it and if you beat the new score higher or lower then my score on here you win the money. Its an offer I offered for about 10 years still standing NO WINNER.

  • Comment removed

  • @thedarkbanshee I'll take you on bitch. Authentic Atari and all. Like you said, we'll both videotape our highscores. If I win, you send the money BUT this time, lets make $100.00 US currency.

  • Great job! I think my highest score was 1000.

  • That mad bomber's mean. They don't make games this hard any more.

  • actually they do but there so few far inbetween

  • OMG the fukin paddle games!!!! like KABOOM and CIRCUS were the best!!!!

  • Perhaps some day I will do a video of circus I own the cartridge

  • I Used to love this game as a kid, how little it took to keep my busy huh? Thanks for the memories!

  • wow this brings back a ton of memories. i always wanted to know how fast dat guy went. too bad i wuz 7 years old when i played this

  • If you all liked the game Kaboom, you'll definetely have to bypass "Beat em and eat em".

  • @bogercs

played it on an emulator with a stella dapter making it possible to use a REAL atari controller and kaboom is still far superior

  • I recently pulled out my Kaboom, and I reached a record (for me) of 14321 points, honest.

    Sorry I don't have a video...

  • Look how fucking close you were to getting another bucket too lol. 5 more points man.

  • My dad just unearthed the atari 2600, with this game. I tried to play it but the joystick can't make the buckets move, though the joystick works with other games. Is the game broken? AM i doint something wrong?

  • Ok. I see. I need to use the Paddle controllers. I was wondering what they were for, thought that might be the case.

  • Yup I saw your message and was going to help you out but you figured it out. Glad you did now lets see what you can do!!!

POST YOUR SCORE I would like to see it and if you cant get a recording please just type your score in here as long as your honest about it.

  • I'll get back into it when I can. Not too goood yet. About to move into my wife's parent's house on account of being a broke ass. I put the atari in MY parent's basement, to play when I visit on the weekends.

  • The answer to your question is simple.

Kaboom only works with the atari 2600 paddle controller.

  • I LOVED this game! The mad bomber smiling when the bombs went off always made me so mad! ;o)

  • hahaha like the game is taunting you.

Even back then gamnes played on a person's emotions.

I was like 8 when this came out, my best friend woulkd play it and cussed a lot when he lost.

  • i remember being addicted to this game when I was a kid!

  • The 5200 was so much better b/c each bomb played a note in the "1812 overture" tune. when they came really fast then you'd hear the tune over and over again. great stuff!

  • Perhaps I will get an emulator and cheak this out. Seems interesting. I may be make a video.

  • unfortunately i don"t, of course that was 26 yrs ago! our 2600 system we got for X-mas 1981 still works great! needs paddles, joysticks replaced. I'm looking forward to getting this done and re-live some old glory!!

  • Amazon, com has what your looking for.

  • I was a "bucket brigade" member in the early eighties! thanks for the post

  • You got a image of your patch?

can you make a video of your patch?

  • oh man you were so close to getting another panel. This was by far the best video game I've ever played in my life

  • Got a better one record already and Ill be doing a review. Glad you like

  • The things we used to do to pass time

  • pure awesomeness

    great job!

  • Going to do a review on this game and how its effect modern gaming today

  • Holy mother that was awesome lol

  • This guy is insane lol

  • this bad guy is the quickest man who ever lived on a console

  • what are these things collecting the bombs?

  • you got it

  • buckets.

  • actually they're tubs of water according to the box

btw as good as this game is it makes little sense

i mean instead of controlling a tub to catch the bombs we should control a cop to get the terrorist

  • ya its also called buckets in the instruction manual and also if you scored 3,000 and you took a picture of the TV screen and send it in to activision you will receive a patch that read "bucket brigade".. click on my channel you will see an example of the patch.. but its for megamania tho.

  • this was my favorite game...the graphic was way advance for the atari 2600 compared to the crap atari put out for their own system

  • best Atari 2600 game of all time! barely beats out Pitfall 2...

  • That was frigging great. Holy s__t. You are an impressive player. Thanks for sharing the vid.

  • i own a ps3 and still pick to play my atari instead of it sometimes, its so much damn fun!!!

  • YEAH !!!

  • Atari rules

  • JESUS F'in CHRIST at 1:37!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My head was goin' all psychotic trying to keep up with the whole thing.

2600 games always had that eerie silence at the end.

  • yes indeed and I MISSED I can actually get all that but I can't always get my best ones recorded.

  • Great game -- I get freaked out watching young kids play advanced levels of Dance Dance Revolution, but when I was younger and sharper I could do pretty well on Kaboom. My eyes hurt watching it now, though.

  • Yes so similar BUT dance dance revolution you can memories this is still non memorize-able

  • Awesome gameplay!

  • I use to play this when I was 9. Why when I was a youngin we had real hand-eye coordination games.

  • So true cant deny that

  • well that was "a blast from the past"

    hahaha .. pun intended :)

    I useta love this game!

Dude you are really good at catchin' them lil' fuckers!

  • man this game used to be my favorite. i think my all time high score is about 21000.

  • i spent more hours playing this as a kid, usually with my grandmothers lady friends staring in fascination as they played Mah-Jong in the living room

  • You must be like a bucket brigade!

  • Yeah but the game does not allow for a bucket bridge it will force you to skip locations

  • Shitty, not 10k

  • I can do better and perhaps I will record it some day now if you can show me your skill in getting 10K or higher please do I would be pleased to watch

  • insane

  • For normal people perhaps

  • lol

  • lol

  • That looks intense XD

  • looks can be deceaving

  • I think that qualifies for an Activision bucket brigade patch(i think the requirement is 3,000 points)

  • I have heard about those I think it was way less points then that to be honest I could find out on ATARI age but I'm to lazy

  • thats where i looked

  • SMILE!!!

I was wrong about the points then and you were right.

  • Dang, you're way better at Kaboom then I ever was!

  • Yeah perhaps so but everyone has their own talent

  • %$#$ that crook moves FAST!!!

  • Yeah just think what the receiving end is like

  • haha this is great!

  • since you like it so much I will try to make more

  • These are the types of games that were the most fun and took the most skill. Modern day games have absolutely nothing on classics such as Kaboom.

  • Generally I would agree although I do believe the Nintendo Wii gaming system is bringing life back to the arcade style of gameplay. I'm a computer geek mostly and hate any modern gaming system such as XBOX PSP PS2 & the 360 newest gaming systems I was into was the origonal playstation and the N64

  • wow! that is fast! its like in guitar hero! but with bombs instead of notes!

  • you got that right man

dance dance revolution came from this game to man as well as MANY MANY others

  • My father had one of the highest scores ever on this game back in the day. I remember he sent a picture of it in and got a some Kaboom merchandise, like a hat, t-shirt, a patch and some other stuff. He was really into it.

  • Yes I have herd of this all you needed was a total of 1000 points I believe. I could be wrong it may be quite a bit more then that I'm just to lazy to look on Atari age at this moment.

Perhaps I will do a review on this game who knows

  • nice play. anyway, this game is rather simple to play if you know what to do. i can easily score well over 200,000 points. here is the trick. DO NOT LOOK AT THE BOTTOM of the screen while you are playing. Look at the middle of the screen only.. zone out, get into the rhythm of the play by listening to the sounds, keep your hand on the controller in the same location and in between waves, do not stop, keep playing. I will post my gameplay when I find my paddles.

  • Very very similar to what I do you tell that to any one older then the age of 10 and they can not compared what you just typed in your post there.

I only wonder how many people you will confuse with your post no joke.

  • I had this game. I THINK the directions said the Bomber did something special for you if you got 10,000 points. Do I remember correctly? Do you KNOW what he does? Is there a video of this?

  • his mouth turns into a little "o" that kind of looks like a bit of a dot.

Funny, in 1983 I could never get past 4k points no matter how much I played.

Sometime in 2001 I played it for the first time in probably 15 years (at that time) and got 18k within a few games.

  • Have you ever reached bucket brigade status? I've ALMOST made it (highest was around 8300). You need to break 10,000 to do it. They actually had patches you'd win if you sent in your score. Probably find them online now. Nice game man, very fluid, and you use the 'lose a bucket' trick very well to get more points!

  • Yup I sure have sad part is my new controller I got off E-bay is already getting warn out by me. Its hard to find unused controllers that are older then myself and used ones work but not so well. I can still do phonomanal but its just so much better with a crisp controller

  • I want to ask but perhaps I shouldn't. The manual claims that the bomber does something cool when you get that high. Is it true? Does something cool happen? Don't tell me, I want to see it myself, just curious if it was true.

  • yes, he does something. I did it once about 25+years ago.

  • yes it does when you do it watch the Mad Bomber as they call him. keep a close eye on his face.

Anyway hope you get there Enjoy the bit of info

  • you can take apart the controller and clean it out.... there is a tutorial online, only draw back it that it can only be done a couple of times before the metal pins break off. hope this helps ya out

  • Freakin' A.

Quite a display of skill at this classic game.

  • Yeah I want to do one with my video camra so you people can see my actually playing the game but I got to buy a new adapter for my console because my old one is being used for my internet SMILE!

  • LOL. Me and my friend as 10 yr olds could never even get close to those levels back in the early 80's.
