  • this is the coolest, trippiest, funkiest original vid I've come across on youtube so far!

    Free yo Mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Cool video! And a cool bass... ;-)

I wish if I could have a Fender Marcus Miller Jazz Bass... but I just can't afford it and I'm not playing with right-hand..

  • Hi bassman499, this song has no title 'cause it's improvised as recorded. For me it was only to test drive this particular bassguitar and hopefully for you to enjoy!

  • what is the name of this song, please tell me ?

  • what s the song

  • the effects 4 this video r fantastic :)!

  • This is absolutely amazing. I've mostly been a Pastorius and Wooten fan, but this really inspires me to check out some Marcus Miller. Very good sound and the effects are JUST right. Excellent job.

  • Dude if you're in a band, let the guitarist play that stuff xD

  • It said please watch in high quality.

    So I did. :)

  • obviousely high

  • lol. you must have been stoned when you made this, dude

  • wow the hall is pretty cool

  • what a cool video!

  • Thanks man!

  • I've always wondered what that piece of metal over the strings is good for.. can someone tell me why?

  • Well it has something to do with Marcus Miller's slapping technique, as far as I know it's to rest his thumb. For most bassplayers it's nothing but an obstacle.

  • can't you remove it from the bass?

  • @musicman405040 no, its a pickup shield, to reduce the buzz from the neck pickup

  • @musicman405040 Its to rest your palm on to get a better angle whilst slapping

  • @musicman405040 I take full advantage of it, rest my thumb on it, Use fingers to pick, i actually think its the most helpful thing u can do to a bass

  • Primarily, the pickup covers on both the Jazz and Precision models were meant to protect the pickup from damage; secondarily as a rest for the hand. There was also an aesthetic concern by Fender for covering the unsightly bits of the instrument (pickups, bridges). As early electric bass playing style involved mainly just the thumb, pickup covers weren't foreseen as the hindrance they are today. Marcus works around his cover; many, if not most, players remove theirs for complete freedom.

  • @25jonathan Its mainly for looks

  • @25jonathan marcus rests the heel of his hand on it, it helps keeps his hand relaxed because his plucking technique is very compact, i have this bass and it actually helps with his style, but it does inhibit normal fingerstyle playing, fender has been putting those on their basses since the 60's or so just as pickup covers. it all comes down to preference really

  • Dude, you really sounds like Jaco Pastorius! I'm not just being nice, I'm serious! 5/5

  • Thanks anyway:)

  • I just saw a made a little mistake...sounds=sound ;)

  • overly dramatic LOL

  • J'avoue craquer pour cette basse mais peut-on enlever le pont métallique au niveau de pickup de manxhe sans altérer le son?

  • Sorry for responding in english: I tried both and did NOT notice any change in sound! So, yes you can remove the pick up cover safely, to my knowledge it doesn't alter the sound.

  • 'ai essayé les deux et n'a pas remarqué de changement dans le son! Donc, oui vous pouvez supprimer le pick up de couvrir toute sécurité, à ma connaissance, il ne modifie pas le son.

  • fin shit effect!

  • is this bass made in usa or japan?

  • japan but its a DAMN good bass

  • The five string is made in the USA and I really want to get it...

  • Wow!!!!

What an amazing bass. Very well displayed:p

This video has inspire me to take bass lessons. Hopefully i will be this good soon:D
