  • this looks as cool to me as a cell phone would look to george washington

  • lool someone trying to rob your phone and you show him you hand XD

  • I can see Martial Law going into full effect and people being scanned and registered. Good luck finding a job if all they have to do is look at you and your info pops on your chest lol

  • i dont like it, it doesnt seem stable enough, smart boards are better

  • OMG what is with her pants? When is the flood?

  • Unfreakingly believable

  • Seems like it's a practical tool for the impractical. Which is nice for some people who are too ignorant to use the technology that we already have.

  • In the future it'll be called pip-boy

  • THIS IS REALLY SOMETHING GREAT ....THE FUTURE IS NOW....DJ FROM MALTA

  • n33oh why are you hating this so much? the prototype is barely out and you're already criticizing beyond belief, like it's already been finalized. I'm sure your argument of it being a novelty could be said regarding most technology we use today prior to it's release/consumption. I think the utility of a product is up to the user not the product itself.

  • wow amazing

  • xPhone is more awesome

  • @HanutaFTW2009 Douche.

  • pfft, my cell phone does the same and is much more comftable. Also is definately lighter in weight

  • They had me up until the "sixth sense brain implant" at the very last second of the video.

  • at 7:50, start the vuvuzelas!

  • is this for real? oh my,, i want it one in my living room..

  • BTW, this isn't a "6th sense" it's a projected image that can detect multi-touch points. Some guy did this with a Wiimote on TED looooong ago!

  • This is more of a NOVELTY than anything.

With any projected image technology, visibility goes down greatly during the daytime.

Also, how is this more convenient than carrying a phone in your pocket? Even if they shrink it down, hanging that thing on your neck all day?

What about privacy? I want my texts to be private. What if I want to pay my bills online using my phone?

  • @n33oh Then pay bills with your phone. Nobody is forcing you to purchase this product if it comes out.

  • this is ridiculous

  • uhh combine this with the contact lens display thing and you have something but using a projector is useless.

  • seen so many things like this, non of them work, you dont want to be looking at a projection, theyr to impracticle. and theres no point, normal touch screens work fine, no need form improvement.

  • It really is just an iPod with a projector, as lookjmanobrains stated. It doesn't really introduce any 'new' technology (I dont need to dial my phone by projecting the pad onto my hand, for example) and its fugging bulky; I don't wanna wear a projector on my chest.

  • Cyborgs.

  • wow!! this is sooo cool!

  • INSANE!

  • But can it core a apple?

  • @gxzech No but it can tell you if that apple is even worth to core.... if they implement fruit identification in the program.

  • i want one that goes into my chest like ironman!!!

  • a brave new world of people plugged into their phones and now staring at walls, perfect

  • i'm not gonna lie... THIS IS AWSOME!!

  • its just a iPhone with projection. nothing big deal about it.

  • @LookMaNoBrains You're just a bunch of simple chemicals put together? Everyone can do the "its just..." simplication on anything. Often its an over-simplification.

Give the device some credit. You have no idea how difficult it is to make. Sure this MAY BE a small step forward in technology (just putting other ideas together) but you have to look at the implifications, and the future development.

It is not just an iPhone with projection.

  • holy fuck....this is awesome!

  • tout pourri...

  • They are just trying to do what your cell phone does but faster and easier. Everytime my brother wanted to go shopping for like his favorite food he would get the bar code and scan it with his phone and within secs it would tell him which stores in the area sell it and at what price. you can do alot with phones these days and by the time they want to come out with something like this there will be millions of databases and they wont have to worry about how the user is going to get information

  • For this thing to work it would require a database of all the stuff you might encounter in every day life and a very good recognition software; more likely this would work if there was a standardization to which all items will adhere to, and if that existed this thing would be like a normal phone as far as awesomeness goes.

  • wow

    is this fake?

  • @HoboWidaLaptop No, this is TED it isn't fake

  • i wanna find out what their calling this thing.

  • @halolovingmaniac

    sixth sense

  • This is AWESOME!!!

  • simply amazing...i look forward to these sorts of technological advances...only a matter of time until cyborgs become common. ^__^

  • Ridiculous! Can't be real! OMG this is awesome

  • This is a modern Wonder!!!

  • damn ..... it's incredible
