Anyway, as soon as he saw your probes, he should have ran his drones back, and kept the hatchery (debatable). If probes followed, he should build lings asap to kill them and keep all his drones alive.
From that point the cannon could be killed, and the hatchery likely wouldn't be dead since it was only one cannon. (if you build more cannon you can't send probe until it's too late)
