It wasnt really that hard when i killed king doran. I did it alone. All i did was use the Blublood sword, clever rat's ring, and light weapon spell. It took me only like 10 hits. he never even hit me. It was on my third playthrough too.

Hes ghost because the recording person was a blue phantom. Blue phantoms see npc's in ghost form. They trapped him in the corner because the physics still work for blue phantoms, they just cant attack or be attacked by there ghost. The guy in body form was attacking him while hes stuck. The guy was laughing because it was a funny trick. There, explained it

I slayed Old King Doran without taking any damages.... wear thief's ring... let him follow u and escape... later in the corridor when he is returning... go silently and make backstab... when he tries to stand up hit 3-4 and run again... do this repeatedly he won't even hit you... I can slay him at level 1 with a weapon which is above average just like I kill red eyes knight in level 1 ...

Basically the white spirit looking guy is playing online instead of single player, yes, but he hasn't invaded the player's world yet, which is what you have to do to fight eachother. and if he were actually fighting then the blue guys shouldn't be able to block the guy like that.

There is a very easy way to kill him without blue phantoms, just lure him out to the area with the trebuchets. His agro ends after the room in the tower, but you can lure him farther. After that he will walk back and not attack you or heal or dodge or do anything else until he reached his agro area. So during that time you can let loose on him and backstab him all you want. Re-lure him again after he regained his agro.
