Google maps has nothing on Telenav. Android is way to rough software and will take a while for them to polish up the software. I bought the HTC hero and it had a lot of apps but they overall were terrible. Android will probably be an overall winner in the future, but it isn't there yet.

The keyboard isn't great but its better than no keyboard. Pinch n zoom is "neat" but it requires two hands, so a plus and minus button is actually more convenient. The android market is pretty big (not as big as the iphone's, but it is still growing). The droid has a better camera then a lot of phones (including the iphone). And as shown in this video the navigation works just fine (and its still in BETA).
